Tales of Suspense#85: Mandarin Vs Iron Man Iron Man Story-Into the Jaws of Death! In the previous issue. Happy Hogan was captured by the Mandarin after donning the Iron Man armour, which he did so that no one would suspect Tony Stark of being Iron Man. The Mandarin thinks that he's the real Iron Man, and so attacks him with his rings, which Happy is helpless against. Meanwhile, back in America, Tony Stark rushes to his factory, as he needs to make another set of armour so that he can save Happy. After hours of working, Tony makes another suit of armour, which looks the same as the old one, but is much tougher, and enables his heart to withstand more strain. Tony then heads to the Stark Missile development centre, where he uses a missile to head to China. By now, the Mandarin has defeated Happy, despite the power of the Iron Man armour, ... moreand goes down to the dungeon where he has Happy tied up. He starts interrogating Happy, asking him where he keeps the plans for his weapons, but Happy refuses to tell him anything. As punishment, the Mandarin attacks Happy with his rings once more. Luckily, by now Tony has arrived in his set of armour, and after taking out some of Mandarin's guards and getting past some electrical traps, he bursts in on Mandarin about to take away Happy to be executed. Captain America Story-The Blitzkrieg of Batroc! Captain America has just received a cryptic message, which tells him that the girl he freed from Batroc a few issues ago, who resembled the girl he loved during World War II, is in danger, and being held at a hospital. Captain America sneaks in, where he is seen by several HYDRA agents. Although one of them wants to shoot Captain America here and now, the other one reminds him that Batroc wants to fight Captain America. Moments after seeing that, Captain America is attacked by Batroc, and the two then engage in a fight. The two HYDRA agents watch the fight, and again, one of them wants to shoot Captain America. Up for auction is a very unique antique tile top table with a wrought iron base dating from the 1920's or possible earlier. The table is unsigned but looks like a custom Catalina tile table. The tile top features three chili peppers. Great color and design. It is one solid large round tile that makes up the top of the table. Overall condition is very nice for its age. The tile has no cracks or chips. Some normal crazing on the colorful design as seen in the photos. Wrought iron base is solid and has no cracks. No repairs and no broken parts. Has surface rust from over the years. The base is hand made and has a cool design. This table measures approx. 16 5/8" wide by 21" tall. Weight is 25 pounds unpacked. Here we have a very old antique heavy thick large irion anchor with 113 inches long chain. I my self do not know anything about them please see pictures they can tell you a lot more then i can. i do beleive the bottom part is also supose to fold up and out but from frust its not moveing but i got the top handles to open& close as shown. Its around 31 1/2 inches tall not including the big thick o-rings attached to it just the anchor it self. then the 2 bars that open on top are around 31 inches wide when open. do not let my pictures fool you its a very large heavy thick anchor. i took my sander and sandid a little part as you can see in my very last picture to show you its irion color but i did not go down that much i just wanted to take some rust off to show you the color of irion in a little area. This is a great advertising piece. Or would make a wonderful display with any antique sad iron, flat iron, laundry iron or pressing iron collection. GRANDMA'S PERFUMED WAXING PAD" is very colorful and it shows you the right and wrong way to use, no lifting of iron to wax, just glide over pad. It appears to have never been used even though it does show some wear. On the back side it gives all kinds of instructions and was manufactured by Columbia Wax Works established in 1896 and they must have had a location in Boston and New York. There is a dark spot on the back, but all the writing is still very legible. Corners shows some minor wear, but all in all is a very nice advertising piece. Measures 7 1/2 x 5 7/8 inches. Antique Cast Iron and Glass Art Deco Torchiere Floor Lamp Rewired
This beautiful art deco style fl oor lam p has three lights on top with a glass shade and a night light underneath the agate gl ass on the base that give s it a glowing effect. The base is cast iron. But I don't know what metals the rest of the lamp are made from. The lamp was completely rewired and the middle socket was replaced allowing for wiring down to the night light underneath t he base. One of the side sockets is held on by one screw ins tead of two because the p lastic around the other screw b roke. So that socket is a little loose. All lights are lit independently by their own switches. The main switch on the lamp post is cosmetic unless you h ave the ambition to replace it and wire it in. The original non-polarized plug is attached(for cosm etic purposes) but the wires can be easily sc rewed into a brand new plug if you'd ... moreprefer the added safety of a polarized plug. The cast iron base is very solid and has a fantastic design. But there is some surface rust th at could be r emoved. One of the arms that holds a side light could be straightened a b it but is okay as is. I wil l partially disassemble the lamp for shipping. But it will all be in the same box.

19th Century 16" Cast Iron Brass Clock Works Spit Jack Rotisserie& Skewer Stand Here's a 19th Century 16" Tall Cast Iron and tin with Brass Clock Works Spit Jack Rotisserie& Skewer Stand. The spit Jack has been painted and very nicely done. Some new nuts and bolts. Missing handle But the spit jack is so big and heavy I would not want use a handle. It is 16" tall and 10 1/2" wide and 9" depth. Large feet on Spit Jack and Horse hooves on skewer stand. The stand is 13 1/2" tall. There's a tag on the side of the spit jack that reads: 34 turns to wind 45 min. Spit jack is missing one side cover. There is a bell inside with the clock works movement. It is running and you can see the large fan fly wheel or govenor spinning thru the top opening. I can not find any makers marks. Probably French made? Shipped ... morein USA 40.00. Vtg Dansk Designs Cast Iron Candle Holder Jens Quistgaard IHQ Denmark Eames
For your consideration is a vintage Dansk Designs IHQ Denmark candle holder. Candle holder measures 7 3/4" in diameter x 3" tall. It is in very good condition for its age. There is so me candle residue on it as shown in the picture. This is one of the more rare and hard to find examples among the various cast iron candle holders designed by Jens Quistgaard for Dansk in 1955. It goes by several names: Starholder. Which was the name given to it and Dansk, but also Starburst Spike and the more common nickname, Crown of Thorns” The spikes were designed to hold on the ball candles, but the piece is collected now for its sculptured, brutalist form. It would be a great addition to anyone’s collection of Jens Quistgaard pieces and would add great presence to any Mid Century or Danish Modern decor. Antique 1800's Wash Basin Set (Iron Stone China)
Antique 4 piece wash basin set. 1st pc is the wash basin that has a flower type print has stress cracks that come with this age of item. Below has a small bubble burst, stamped with Iron Stone mark. 2nd item is the water pitcher that also has nice age stress, 3rd item is the soap dish that has one small chip on the lip of bowl and very small chip on lid. 4th item is the water cup that has stress cracks with the age. This is a complete set that is very rare to find in a set. I date this set in the mid 1800's. This set was found at an Estate Sale in a small mining town in Az(Presott) The house was built in 1800's and found in the attic from what I was told. Sold as-is and described condition. No returns

ANTIQUE CAST IRON SCONCE,PLANT,CANDLE HOLDER-SWIVELS FROM SIDE TO SIDE! SO COOL!
We recently ran into this interesting antique item we do not really know what it is. It's VERY ornate. Black solid cast iron, the hinge plate attaches to a wall. You then place the arm of the sconce into it(see picture#1& 2) So, it sets in it. It does actually swivel from side to side so we figured it would hold a plant really nicely in this. If the plant is getting too much sun, simply swivel it to the other side where there perhaps might be some shade for it. Then we thought, a medium size pillar candle would be great in this as well! We don't know, it's your choice what you use it for! Here are the measurements: The mount bracket measures 3& 1/4" long by 1& 1/4" wide. From hole to hole it is 2& 1/2" The drop(or"dip" Drops down to 6" The cup holder where you would place a small plant ... moreor med. size candle measures 5& 1/4" in diameter and is 1& 1/2" deep. When it's mounted to a wall, it extends out to 11& 1/2" long. It is in excellent condition although we think there might be something missing from the very top of it. I was going to use in my landscaping but had to drop this project. Perhaps someone with Graceland has seen this or someone good at research can find out more about this fencing. I am a artist& inventor& I bought this fencing because it's unusual& I was going to flare it out on both sides of iron gate(also listed for sale) The sections vary in length from 3' 9" to 4' 9" approx 45" tall. Horz. bars are 33" center to center, the vert. bars are 3/4" sq. solid on 6" centers As you can see by pictures fencing will need a little elbow grease to straighten.
