The needlepoint fabric has a small worn spot in 2 corners as seen in the pictures. I am sure it can be recovered. Legs and frame are very sturdy. There are 2 standard screws holding each leg on and 4 standard screws holding top to wooden frame. Please view my pics they are the best description I have done nothing to the stool. Absolutely beautiful Empire period footstool. Ottoman. I have no proof of this but was told it dates to the 1840's. The wood has some scratches and could use at the least a good cleaning. Not sure of the wood type. It looks like mahogany to me. The needlepoint top is gorgeous. It has a small bare area(see photo) 14" high from bottom of caster, 17 1/2" × 17 1/2" Does have a small area on one corner of needlepoint that is a little lose and should be tacked down. Took picture but is so minor it doesn't show. Be happy to answer questions.

Antique Victorian Tunbridgeware Footstool and Warmer with Original Needlepoint
Beautiful Victorian footstool with original needlepoint cover. Octagon shaped with mahogany veneer and inlaid tunbridgeware banding along the bottom. Top is covered in the original needlepoint with a wonderful bird and floral pattern. Sits on three round porcelain( feet. It likely had a metal insert which could be filled with warm water to warm the user's feet. But it is long gone. Nice antique condition with some loss to the veneer on both the exterior and inside of the top. The top has a"bow" in it and does not sit flush to the base on all sides. This is an exquisite stool with beautiful tapestry seat and curved legged carved wooden frame. The stool is a nice size. Measuring 15" long and 12" wide and 7 1/2" high. It appears to be Victorian with old wooden nails decorating wood( see picture) and two carved flowers in the center of both sides. The bottom is covered with satin. Needlepoint is really beautiful with burgundy with lis de fleur circular design in pale yellow ith flowers in center in pale yellows. Greens and pale pink. One of a kind stool.

This charming antique needlepoint stool was recently acquired from an estate sale. The carved wood base is accented with an archway style design in the wood. The black needlepoint boasts a gorgeous bouquest of pink roses. The stool measures 8" tall x 14 1/4" long x 9 3/4" wide. The needlepoint is in excellent condition. I could only find one extremely tiny white dot on the black background. No holes or fading. The stuffing is firm and the stool is very clean. The wood finish has some scratches as seen in the photos. This is such a great piece. The more I look at it. The more I love it. It's totally Victorian, with the sort of wicked expression on the face of the swans-I assume they are swans. There have been repairs to the wood, but everything is very solid and the cover is in great shape. Nice mahogany piece with lots of great carvings. 22" long x 11 1/2" deep x 9 1/2" high.

The design is completed with a fairly dark sage gray green background, and the cat si light tan, almost cream color with several shades of light brown. The base is quite primitive, and appears to be hand carved with a heavily varnished surface. The footstool is quite small, measuring about 9" in diameter and 5" tall. Condition is nice but antique, with a few small areas of missing stitching, and some age cracks to the wood, but it is very solid. I can read"MADE" the rest is really faded but could be Belgium or Bulgaria or even Sweden-definitely not America.but is soooooo hard to see! 2 original nails are missing. There is minimal damage to the needlepoint, considering it's age, only 3 spots about 1/4 inch; Size is 14 x 10 inches across the top including the padding which is some kind of natural filling Colors are still great considering the age. Nicely crafted wooden body is quite solidly made and sturdy. The top of the footrest is upholstered with hooked wool strawberries and leaves on a black field. The loops are done with a fine hand and give the impression of needlepoint. This charming hand-worked top is a later addition over whatever original cover the stool had. Some of the fabric corners are coming untucked. The upholstery is dusty. The body of the footstool under the padded top creates a visually intriguing profile by use of concave. Antique French Louis XVI Green Gilt Wood footstool Tapestry orig needlepoint
Up for consideration is a fine diminutive Antique French Louis XVI footstool or Ottoman. I believe it is stuffed with straw or hay. It measures 24 inches long by 13 1/4 inches deep by 13 inches tall. There is some nice neoclassical motifs carved along the apron as well as at the legs. It is very sturdy and has no foul odors. It is only sturdy enough for feet though and could not actually be sat on. It appears that the outer liner underneath has been reattached using Staples. Also. Up for your consideration is this antique 18th century country French Louis XVI style needlepoint vintage footstool. The frame is made of wood finished in medium walnut. The stool is upholstered in a floral needlepoint fabric with a beige background with colors of green. Red, violet. There is off white webbing bordering the sides of the stool. The frame is in good condition overall with minor wear and stain loss. The fabric has minor wear. This is a vintage, elegant and highly decorative piece. The footstool measures 13" x 9" x 7" high.
