This is number 2 of two matching vintage industrial drafting stools. Straight from the estate of a local artist. The stool has a metal frame(not sure if this is iron or steel) and the seat is made of wood. The seat swivels 360 degrees. It has a footrest and the seat adjusts from 30 inches to 36 inches by spinning the seat. It is a heavy duty, industrial chair that was made to last for decades and will survive for many more. It does have some cracks in the wood seat. There is also some surface rust present on the metal legs, tips of feet and on the footrest. Awesome industrial machine-age drafting stool made by UHL STEEL FURNITURE/ THE TOLEDO METAL FURNITURE CO. Toledo OH. See the yellow maker marking in the picture for all of the maker information. The stool is in good vintage condition. It has a very nice aged look to it that some people like so I haven't really tried to clean it up much. I'll leave that decision to the buyer. The wood face of the back rest is coming up at the edges in a few places, not damaged just needs re-glued. The metal frame has a fair amount of rust as can be seen in the pictures. The nut on the rear side of the back rest is is covered in masking tape. It actually works very well for turning the nut in order to adjust the back-rest height. There is some rust and pitting on the bottom of the legs and round feet.There is still some of the original paper label on the frame underneath and metal label EATON RICH on the opposite side see photos no. 4& 5.It has a spring load lever to adjust seat height. It turns/swivels.There appears to be a weld on the frame see photo no. 8 original? Great vintage steel stool with wood seat and wood back rest. It believe it is a Uhl Toledo stool but has no Uhl label. Just says Frederick Post(a drafting supply company) and City of Madison tag. The painted steel surface has tons of character, rust, wear and patina, yet is still very sturdy and functional. The wood seat has it's original finish and is in good sturdy condition. This is a nice old drafting stool with the original finish. It spins to raise it or lower it and the back goes from 34" to 40" and the seat goes from 18" to 24" It looks to have the original stain so there is quite a bit of patina and aging. There are quite a few nicks and scratches but a good oiling up would cover a lot of them. The seat appears to be the original leather and about 25% of the wood band holding it down has broken off at some point. There are also so old white paint specs on the back. The top of this Toledo stool was split and beat up when it came to us. Our competent staff reglued. Sanded, stained, and finished the seat. The stool seat does still have some deep scratches from wear and a small saw nick on the side from some incident in the past. Clean condition with some surface scratches and expected wear. No veneer peeling or cracking. The base metal and grey paint is original and shows wear and some paint loss. The metal glides are good and intact. Seat height adjustment and backrest adjustment mechanisms are functional. There is no makers markings anywhere that I could find on this item. It resembles the Toledo stools though. This item works well and is in vintage condition. There is plenty of wear on this piece. Vintage Industrial Swivel Fully Adjustable Drafting Stool Chair-Distressed Cool
Here is a vintage industrial drafting or task stool or office chair. The seat is vinyl and the legs are chrome. Did not find a maker's mark on it. The chair seat swivels and the chair is also fully adjustable. The seat adjusts from 21 inches to 26 inches(shown in photo at 26 inches) The chair back adjusts by 3 inches from 11 inches tall to 14 inches tall and also adjusts front to back. The chair at its highest is 37 inches tall from the floor to the top of the chair back. The distance between the feet is approximately 15 1/2 inches and the diameter of the foot rest is 17 inches around. Chair is sturdy and weighs 23 lbs without the box. Seat measures approximately 17 inches side to side by 17 inches front to back. The vinyl is a very cool red color and is distressed from use over the years. It has some paint splatter and marks on it that ... morelook very cool. There are some minor tears to the vinyl on the seat and on the sides of the seat(see photos 3 and 4) Of course. Vintage Industrial All Metal Iron Shop Drafting Garage Stool Chair Steampunk
Here is a really nice looking old vintage all metal work stool. This is all iron(fully magnetic) and very durable and sturdy. I do not see any manufacturer information on the stool. The seat sits quite high. About 28 1/4" from the ground, and the top of the back is about 41" from the ground. This looks like one of the lowest height settings and is adjustable, although this is a great height for drafting, working, etc. The seat diameter is about 13 3/4" This is a very solid industrial piece with a great look. UHL Toledo Stool, Vintage Toledo adjustable drafting Stol
Old Toledo Stool. As you can see it is missing a leg leveler and the top is cracked. It is in pretty good condition overall and the top would glue together nicely. I did not try to clean it up at all. I am guessing on the shipping weight and box size but I think I am pretty close.
