I could not find any markings on it so I do not know who or when it was made. This was an estate sale find and is being sold as found. Gold one piece wood frame and cast iron legs may have been repainted at some time and have some scuffing. Scratches. Cast iron legs have been repositioned as well as the small wood decorative pieces going around underside most likely from being loose from age. The legs have some wobble to them but stool is sturdy. Antique Small Round Foot Stool ~ Needlepoint Top ~ Cast Iron Legs ~ 1897-1900s
I am offering an antique small round Foot Stool with a Needlepoint top. It measures approx 10" in diameter and 7-1/4" tall. It is a wood base with four cast iron curved legs. The Needlepoint is an off brown color with what looks like a basket of flowers in center. The needlepoint is tight and all in really good shpe. With a a few loose threads, could snip off, but I have left as is and I am not sure how old Needlepoint is. Not sure if all is original, but now has what looks like painted gold around wood edge of stool, on the round balls under edge between each leg, and gold on the outside of the 4 legs, black inside. Around the approx 1" edge it is worn and has knicks, pictures will show. The tacks holding in the needlepoint are the original brown color. The legs are fastened tight with screws and one must have come out at ... moresometime because a newer screw has been used on one leg, and a picture will show. It has been in my family since new and was purchased from Wormser Furn. Co. in Fresno, CA. You will see where someone wrote 1897 on back, not sure who, but Wormser Furn bult a new store in 1903. 4 Antique Indian Face Head Dress Cast Iron 2" Glass Ball Claw Stool Table Legs
This is an antique lot of four matching ball and claw cast iron and glass ball stool or table feet that are true survivors. Very old these have what appears to us to be an Indian Head with Feather Head Dress in cast iron and the glass ball portion is a little under 2" across. The one glass ball has most of the inclusions that are still intact I can only feel one of the chips missing the rest can be seen but not felt. These glass balls and show inclusions to each glass ball. Not sure what is factory made and what was from decades if not a century of use. The top of the leg where the taper goes in is around 1" wide and overall each leg is nearly 5" long. All four have no finish on them and are as found with some cool original patina that is surface rust and none is actually damaged in any way. This was passed down in my family for years. The seat has a slightly scalloped edge and is 12" X 12.5" Upholstery has the original horsehair stuffing. The adjustable screw mechanism allows the stool to raise from 18" 23" high. No cracks in wood. Just normal wear for a piece of this age. This is a Vintage Piano and or Organ Stool it has three cast iron legs mounted on hardwood with a seat that has a screw adjustment from just over twenty inches to twenty six inches tall It has a orange embroidery on green cloth seat cushion cast iron legs and the solid wood construction this is a really nice example of Americana I have no idea of the maker or age It is probably from the USA the wood is rich color varnished to a high gloss this beauty was in an estate auction last weekend 4-6-13 It is on ebay for the next several days. Up for sale are these two rare antique bar/ice cream parlor stools with wood seats and cast iron bases. I believe these stools date to the early 1900's or possibly older. Each stool has lots of wear from age as pictured but are very solid and functional. The seats have a cast iron point that rest in the shaft of the base and slightly teeters by design. One stool measures slightly taller at 25" with a 11 7/8" diameter seat and 7 1/8" diameter at the cast iron base. Antique Machine Age Industrial Drafting Architect Wood & Cast Iron Swivel Stool
Here we have a really great late 1800s antique drafting table stool that is wood and cast iron. As you can see from photo 9 one leg has a crack in it and in photo 10 you can see an example of some cracking to the bent wood foot rest. If you look at photo 7 you will notice that only 3 of the 4 screw are the original ones but this stool is very sturdy when lowered like shown in photo 2. This stool also raises as shown in photo 5 but the seat becomes wobbly the higher that you go but the base is very solid. When at it's lowest this stool is about 30 inches tall. The foot rest is about 14 inches in diameter and the seat is about 14 1/2 inches in diameter. This item will ship FedEx ground so it can not be sent to PO Boxes. I have for your consideration a Antique Cast Iron Footstool with a Needle Pointed Cover. Cast iron base is in black. There is some minor chipping to the paint and underneath there is evidence of a gold color paint. The top in upholstered in a vintage black ground needle point with oval beige center surrounded by flowers and leaves. The center of the oval beige has a bouquet of flowers done in petit point. Footstool in in very nice condition with no breaks or repairs. Needlepoint is very nicely executed. When needlepoint was placed onto the footstool. Some of the needlepoint canvas was left exposed, look at photo#8 for a closer look. It can only be seen if stool is turned upside down. here we have a great swing out stool. stool is in great condition. this stool looked as if it was mounted on the corner of something at one time. but i have made a aluminum spacer block allowing you to mount it on a flat wall is you choose. also i had to machine a new hinge pin as pictured. it will be up to you if you want to paint them black. i just left them in natural color so you can see that they are new pieces. the wood seat is 11 inches diameter. the seat adjusts by screwing it clockwise or counter clock wise. Adjustable from 32" to 37" T he seat has been replaced& is 1 5/8" solid wood. I don't see any mfg. name on it. The cast iron parts appear to have been repainted the wood may have been refinished. It is cast iron but the braces going across are wooden. This really is a neat piece of history and hope someone will let me know what it is supposed to be. When opened to sit on it, it measures 8" tall, so maybe it is more like a foot stool. It's heavy so a little child couldn't lift it to sit on. This is a neat old footstool I ran accross. I would assume that it would be for travel in a buggy or possibly a train. It measures approx 9" tall. 10" accross and 8 1/2" front to back and is in used condition. The legs appear to be tublar- maybe cast iron, the fabric is a very worn piece of carpet. Vintage Industrial Steampunk Oak & Cast Iron Drafting Architect Swivel Stool
This oak stool is in very good condition for it's age. I am thinking turn of the century from it's design. I love it's design. The curved legs and wood foot rest.It swivels and is 31" down and 35" up. You need to do a lifting spinning motion with the seat to get it to rise. It can actually go a little higher. But I didn't want it to spin out totally. The seat is wood underneath, but has been recovered with a piece of leather. original horsehair underneath* Old seat was totally worn. There have been a couple of repairs done, but it is solid. Legs are 21" across-foot to foot. There are trusses built in the cross braces at the bottom, 10th picture shows. I would prefer local pickup, but I will ship it. Not sure what it's weight will be once packed, weighs 12 pounds as is. Furniture/piano stool feet - Glass - cast iron - ball - Antique - Collectible
These four cast iron and glass ball feet came off a piano stool which was beyond repair. The feet are about 4” tall. With a 7/8” inside diameter opening, that tapers to about ½” at the bottom. The glass balls are full of tiny bubbles, have a horizontal casting seam in the middle, and a ½” diameter flattened spot on the bottom. This will cast them at approximately an 80 °( angle when flat on the floor. They are dirty and the gold paint is worn. Otherwise. They are in good, antique condition. Vintage Wood& Cast Iron Stool This great old stool came from one of the old tanneries in Milwaukee. It likely dates from the mid to late 1800's from what we know about the age of buildings in the area that it came from. It has the unmatchable patina of a well-aged piece. With loads of character to boot! Each of the leg bottoms have some degree of chipping on the outer corners, and a bit of the screw threads for the seat adjustment has broken loose. At its lowest setting, it measures 27" high. The stool adjusts upward several inches by turning the adjustment wheel underneath the seat. All of the joints are tight. This large and ornate cast iron rarity dates from the late 1860s-early 1880s and measures 11” tall x 14” x 14” The open work cast iron top features elaborate Eastlake inspired designs and is supported by 4 tall feet. The pair in front are massive cabrioles with elaborate foliate knees and lions’ paw feet. The rear duo are simpler with Eastlake designs and understated claw feet. The entirety is barn fresh with old. Un-enhanced rusted surface showing pitting from years on the hearth. There is a large old stable crack on the top near the rear as shown in the close-ups.
