These legs have the face of a woman or Victorian man on the top and bottom and are very unique. The feet are 9 inches tall and 3 1/8 wide. Stool stands 18"high and the seat is 13" round. There is long crack line in the bottom of the seat. and the center support has a crack as well. the Seat material is worn and the straw under it is exposed in places. CAST IRON GLASS BALL FEET and legs - repairs - piano stool - vintage
I have left the claw feet on the legs. The feet are in good condition as are the glass balls. There is old varnish and dirt built up and they need a good cleaning. There are bubbles in the glass but I couldn't see any cracks. The legs are 16 1/2 inches tip to toe. The legs may need refinishing if you are redoing or repairing another stool. They do have some character to them now. The center piece is cracked and doubtful it could be used except for a pattern. If you get the bid and do not want the extra pieces I will just send the feet and figure postage that way. For now I am weighing all pieces to calculate postage so take that into consideration. This is a very old stool marked Pat May 6. 1873 underneath. The legs are ornate and made of cast iron. Where the seat attaches it read on the metal Geo.W Archer, Rochester N.Y. Pat May 6, 1873. The stool measures almost 19" tall and is 15.5" across the top. It looks like it was recovered at one time, then that removed to reveal the original cover. The inside of the top of the stool has STRAW in it. I did not want to remove this. It would probably be best to recover this leaving what is on there now underneath. Shipping will be calculated. It most likely has been repainted and reupholstered over the years. The seat would be easy to unscrew and recover if you desired.

I have up for sale a drop dead gorgeous vintage/ antique circa late 1800s to early 1900s Victorian Era Mahogany Original Finish Adjustable Height Swivel Seat Piano Stool. The design of this example is just that much nicer than most others- it has a fluted center pedestal section with matching fluted splayed legs- cast iron claw feet/Eagle Talon Claws with glass ball centers. The stool is very strong and sturdy. It weighs approx 16 lbs as you see it, and in its lowest position stands approx 18" tall. The seat measures approx 13-3/4" diameter. The seat adjusts up to height of about 23" and down to about 19" The three legs are cast iron and the center column is made of wood. The seat is wood covered with needle point fabric. Victorian black cast iron three-legged swivel screw type piano/organ stool. Round seat measures 13-1/2" across. With the seat screwed down to its lowest position. It measures 18" tall; photo#5 shows the seat extended to 23" tall. Screws up and down easily. Overall condition of the base is very good; it looks like the mounting bracket was moved at some point, because there are additional holes in the bottom of the seat[see next to last photo] Also looks like some black paint was added to the base in a few spots. The original faille upholstery and gold ribbon braid has stains and several tears, but can be replaced. The stool could also be converted to a small table by adding a different top if desired. Similar stools have been listed for up to over $350, and the same base alone has been listed at $85.
