The metal has a nice patina, and the glass balls are in good, crack free condition, but dusty/dirty with normal use scratches at bottoms. The wooden base is in good condition, again, dusty/dirty. At the top is a 4" diameter, rusty hardware piece for attaching the seat, with three screws, one is missing as there should be 4. how many of these have you see this is my first and i have been doing this for aver 20 years.this cane out of a doctors estate his wife was 101 when she passed away and she was his nurse.so this is probley from the early 1900s. the middle of the stool is wood and the leggs are cast iron and it will swist up and down to set you up and down.when it;s down it;s 17 in tall to the bottom of the cusion and 21&1/2 in tall to the bottom of the cusion when it;s up all the way.it need a new cover on the cusion and it has a repair on one of the top of the legs i took a picture of it showing it repaired.This is a neet piece if it was refinished, i have the cabinet from the same place check it out and i will combine shipping.shipping is 25.00

I bought this at the large Brimfield Antique show back in 1991. The spiral rod spins up and down to raise and lower the seat. The spider brace to the underside of the chair is slightly bent. I bought as is. I used this as a display for a pump organ I used to own. Cast iron base and trim. 20" 25" tall. Will pack well.

The stool Is well constructed(weighs over 15 lbs) and stands 18-1/2" tall in the down position. It raises to over 23" The seat diameter is about 14-1/2" The condition is very very good. There is a split in the top where the seat material was originally fused together as made(not unusual) But it is very solid and still very attractive. The legs and lower supports are spindled with nice wood turnings. The glass balls are held in mildly ornate cast iron claw holders. Overall an excellently built and very nicely finished piece. Antique Vintage Piano Organ Stool Victorian style Cast Iron Ball& Claw Feet Ornate. The stool adjusts from 19 inches to 22 inches. The top is 14 1/2" across and 1 5/8" thick. Scratches. Nicks, and some of the finish knocked off from normal use. There is a 2 inch piece of bead molding missing on the seat rim. The glass balls have flat spots worn on the bottom. The glue joints on the top of the seat are visible. The screw thread has wear, so the stool seat is a little wobbly. Very usable. The base is very solid. These would be a great addition to a piece of furniture as they are head turners. Each claw holds a glass ball that acts as the base that touches the floor. There is obvious wear. As there should be for any items of this age but overall I would say these are in good vintage condition. It is beautifully engraved and features three gorgeous twisted legs that add volumes to the overall style. The seat portion appears to be made of pine. It looks as if it was just the base that a padded cushion or covering was glued to. You can see some of the left over residue from this in the pictures. Up for auction is this nice set of 4 Cast Iron Claw Foot Hardware. With Glass Balls. The pieces have Brass or Brass colored Gliding. They measure 4" long and the glass balls are 1 1/4" in diameter. Each foot has a hole in the back to attach to the furniture leg with a set screw. Very nice detailing. These are authentic as I took them off an old round table. Made by the Briggs Patent Portable Ottoman Portfolio Piano Stool- Patented April 28th. 1868 and Aug 31st, 1869. Briggs' Manufactory of Portable. Patent Piano Stools- This business was commended in town, in a small way, by Joshua Briggs, in 1862. He made, at old jobs, one dozen of piano-stools in 1863, accupying the basement of Robert Day's shop, near'Wilder's Manufactory, North Peterborough. In the spring of 1864 he rented the second story and attic of'Brennan's Building, in the village, and continued them until the whole building was too limited for his vastly increased business, when he purchased the saw-mill of Mark Wilder, and erected for his manufactory, in the summer of 1873, his present large and commodius buildings. The progress of his business was gradual, from making a dozen piano-stools by himself, as in ... more1862, 63' and then with hiring one or two hands a part of the time, to his present condition. He now employs, when the business is good, from twenty-five to thirty hands in the shop, and at the same time hires all his iron-work, castings, screws, etc. done outside. Mr Briggs has secured five several patents on his piano-stools; two on the screw style, two on the ottoman style, one on the portable back. The Massachusetts Charitable Mechanics' Association, Boston, in September, 1869, awarded to him a diploma and honorable mention of his piano-stools. In September, 1871, at the New England Fair at Lowell, Mass, a silver medal was awarded him for his portable piano-stools. Overall good condition. Ornate cast iron legs. Wooden painted frame shows some minor wear and paint loss. Hinges appear to have been replaced. The seat and turned center carved and highly decorated column is solid walnut with very rare thick elaborate cast iron base legs ornately adorned with ornamental embellishments painted black and trimmed with gold. The top surface is solid walnut. Beautifully age distressed and also ornately painted in Hitchcock style design with gold accents. There are many potential uses in any décor. This really is an amazing old antique stool. I am guessing mid 1800's. It is rather heavy. Solid wood, possibly Mahogany or? Cast iron legs with detailed design. Adjusting seat base, but is not currently working(see pics) Threads in the base see to be reamed out a little, but could be fixed. There is a water mark where I put my coffee cup by accident(see pics) but could be restained and fixed easily. There is a small crack in the seat, but I have been using this chair in my shop for the last year and no problems. Would be great in your home/ office/shop. Please email if you need measurements. Antique Industrial Piano Stool Steampunk Wood and Ornate Cast Iron Victorian
Up for auction is an Antique Industrial Stool. Made of wood and cast iron. It looks to be pre 1900, but I can't say for sure. It is in good condition and has the PERFECT patina. The center section is all wood and has 3 cast iron legs, the seat has the original wood. It looks like the seat cover has been professionally recovered, there are some cracks here and there, the bottom of the seat is separated at the factory seam- just needs clamped and glued. The cast iron is a bit rough and could be sand blasted to smooth it, but that is your preference. The seat is adjustable, one it is raised it gets a bit wobbly, but at the bottom it is nice and sturdy. It measures 19" at the lowest point and raises from there, the base of the feet is 15" wide, the seat is 13 3/4" wide. If you have any questions please ask. Thanks.

Shabby Antique Cast Iron Burl Wood Victorian Brothel Fringed Velvet Piano Stool
Would have looked great in Miss Kitty's saloon or upstairs where those girls entertained! Original cast iron legs and what looks like a carved burl wood base adjustable stool with a powdery sea-green blue velvet seat& long strands of twisted satiny fringe. It extends to roughly 24" high but has some"give" gets a little"wobbly" when fully extended. it adjusts down to a height of about 19" The top has a bit of"give" but seems fine for use; otherwise. It has no damage. some very light spots on the seat but not overwhelming. The feet are about 14-1/2" apart and the seat top is about 13-1/2" in diameter.

Here's a single vintage'claw.Ball, face' piano stool leg from an estate sale, that's being sold as is. The 8 photos are the main description. It shows wear but has a nicely aged look to it that would make a nice display item, or possibly a repair part. The glass ball has a flat spot where it contacts the floor(photo 7) and I'm not sure if that's by design or from wear.
