Antique industrial age brass& copper pull chain lamp. It was attached to a bench via a bolt and then screw key to the side so that the lamp and arm could be removed from the bench. The lamp arm measures 13" long x 10-1/2" wide at the top. The pull chain socket is attached to one of the arms at the top and the other arm has a blunt end on it for attaching something. No reserve- low opening bid Vintage BRASS* Seated Abraham Lincoln On Bench. This is a copy of Gutzon Borglum's(you remember him; he designed Mount Rushmore) statue/sculpture located next to the Essex County Courthouse in Newark. New Jersey. It was dedicated by Teddy Roosevelt on Memorial Day, 1911. It does look very similar to the one at the Gettysburg, PA National Military Park Museum. That sculpture has Lincoln seated with his top hat off- HOWEVER, he is holding a copy of the Gettysburg Address. This item weighs 4 POUNDS 4 ounces! HEAVY! Base is 4x6 inches. 6 1/2 inches tall. It's old. but can't be any older than 1911! Is a tad dusty; has some patina- and is much darker than the ones I've seen on eBay. It's also larger and heavier than the ones I've seen on eBay. Bridge City Tool Works BL-9 Bench Level Rosewood Brass
Bridge City Tool Works BL-9 Bench Level made of rosewood and brass. This tool is no longer made or sold by BCTW. Though like other out-of-production tools it could one day be resurrected. This level is surpassingly handsome and substantial. Many believe it to be the most beautiful tool Bridge City has ever made. In the hand it seems to have the weight of a brick. In cabinetmaking I don't frequently require the use of a level. And I rarely used this tool. Ss the photos show, it is in excellent condition-with one caveat: on the top(flat) edge, the Bridge City engraving or stamping has been worn away. Removing the brass center plate to access the set screws that adjust the leveling vial results in that plate being very slightly out of alignment with the neighboring brass plates. Because I'm that way. And as I wanted the edge to be as ... moreflat as possible(since I used this tool primarily as a precision reference straightedge) I lapped it extremely flat on a surface plate. The brass is so soft that the stamping quickly disappeared. Functionally the edge is actually flatter than it was when new. But it lacks the Bridge City insignia that is likely important to certain people. The tool is otherwise in superb cosmetic and functional condition. It's been so long since I used it that I'm not sure how level it is. However. It is relatively simple to adjust and calibrate it. The following description of the tool comes from the Bridge City Web site: From a solid. 4-lb piece of 360 brass alloy, we've fashioned a level housing that negates the traditional problems of warping in a wood-bodied level. The precision vials have a tolerance of 300 seconds on a 2mm scale plus or minus 30 seconds. Soda-lime glass windows, buffered and sealed on each side by"O" rings, protect the plumb and 45-degree vials from typical shop hostilities. The top vial, which reads level, is adjustable. 22 inches front to back. 33 inches tall at back. 5 feet long. This is a cool bench and my neighbor who I am listing it for says she was offered 600 once but it was a tad too long for the guys hallway. He needed a four foot long bench. It is pretty cool. I don't know much about furniture but I have looked this all over and it is solid. No broken parts. It even has side arms that flip down with a latch. Very cool. If I don't sell it for her. ANTIQUE NOUVEAU PERIOD BENCH CHAIR FROM PAIR OF ORNATE BRASS COFFIN STANDS BASES
We are pleased to offer this very beautiful and unique. Antique bench. The bench features a fabric wrapped, wooden seat mounted upon double(pair) brass coffin/casket stands. The bases are very ornate. Each side features a four legged design. The legs are very curved in semi-circle fashion and the hyperextend the bench at each end. They have an aged, copper colored patina on the legs. The ball and stick accents retain more of a brass color. There is an embossed, floral medallion/plate attached at the mid point of the bases both on the outside and inner profiles. The bench seat appears to a heavy plywood. It is padded and covered with a cotton blend fabric. The fabric has machine embroidered, Nouveau inspired, floral/leaf designs. The patterns are in colors of red and gold. The fabric has a tasseled trim of black and gold. The stands date to ... morethe early part of the 20th century. The bench is not marked. It is in very good condition with some expected signs of age. The metal legs/feet do have some patina and some oxidized spots. These are not severe nor distracting. The fabric looks fairly new and the bench appears to have been recently reupholstered. The bench is solid and sturdy. But it is not heavy as the brass stands are hollowed. The legs do have some give to them so this is more of a decorative piece versus a functional piece. It is exceptionally beautiful and it is very interesting. Would be fabulous in an entryway, hall or at the foot of a bed. Offered for bidding is an antique 1895 bench-mounted Yankee bottle corker in working condition.It is really a simple press.When the crank is turned the 2 dogs close to grip the bottle neck between it's padded curvatures.Compress a cork and a ram pushes the cork into the neck.I replaced the 2 carriage bolts which mount the dogs due to the old ones being weak and worn. most of the nickel finish is long gone,but the rust hasn't pitted. this tool could be replated and restored if desired. Achieving such a high level of detail requires a very complex and time intensive production process: At the beginning moulds of wax were created. Including drains for air and melted brass. All that was covered with clay. The mould was dried and fired. At the same time the wax melted and created a hollow space which was later filled with molten bronze. This auction is for a lot of 4 Veritas solid brass bench pups. They are used and that is apparent in the photos. They've been bumped. Dropped, scuffed, hit with a belt sander and they just keep on going. They are completely functional. The springs work as they should. Overall length is about 2-3/8" and they are designed for use in 3/4" diameter holes. Great tools. Well made! Lots of life left in these. USPS Priority Mail is quoted. I can combine shipping. The object bears the golden"FBW" mark(Fritz Bermann Wien) The object is 21mm tall and 30mm wide. As these miniatures are produced and painted by hand. Small variations in detail or color are normal. About the production of these miniatures The material of the object is brass. Achieving such a high level of detail requires a very complex and time intensive production process: At the beginning moulds of wax were created. Including drains for air and melted brass. All that was covered with clay. The mould was dried and fired. At the same time the wax melted and created a hollow space which was later filled with molten bronze. After casting and cooling the ceramic mould was destroyed and the ... morebrass core removed. The drains were then taken off and the whole surface was engraved by hammer and punch followed by the very costly and detailed painting.
