ANTIQUE VICTORIAN WOOD SPITTOON FOOTSTOOL EASTLAKE STYLE NEEDLEPOINT MUST SEE
Click to View Image Album Click to View Image Album This is a 19th century Victorian spittoon and foot stool in the Eastlake style. In antique as found condition. Please see my eBay store and my other listings for silver and other items. This unusual piece was purchased at an estate sale on Shelter Island, New York, and it came from a fancy 1880s Brooklyn Heights brownstone. Now it is looking for a new home. The wood(walnut? is decorated with black and gilt paint in the Eastlake style, and there are four cloven feet. The floral motif needlework top is nailed on all around, with a cushion underneath. The foot pedal raises the cover to reveal a thick ironstone spittoon dish. You don't really want to think about it, but probably the maid removed and washed out the dish from time to time. The base of the spittoon is marked with a crest with ... morefish and birds, and G.P. Co, for one of the many potteries of the day, perhaps in East Liverpool, Ohio or Trenton, NJ. There are no other marks of maker or origin. You can scroll down to see more photos. This impressive antique footstool measures 6 1/2" tall from the floor and 12" across the needlepoint top. The pedal and feet extend a few inches further. The spittoon itself is 9" across and stands 2 1/4" high. The whole piece weighs about 9 lbs without any packaging. There are loose threads. Loose nails, scratches and worn spots in the wood and paint, and surface cracks and craquelure in the spittoon. In general, it is in good antique condition, ready to restore if that is your wish. There is some wear to the wood around the edges. But no missing pieces. The cushion has a brocade fabric that is not in the greatest shape, but it can be popped out and reupholstered by attaching new fabric. Under the brocade is the original linen covering. Very ornate little VICTORIAN footstool with lots of flair! All original except for red velveteen fabric that is poorly nailed to top- however. Under it is the wood fiber filling to plump the cushion. Wood platform is very good and has all 12 little wood ACORN shaped spindles on bottom- original owner must not have had any children. It looks like legs and wood base had antique gold paint on them. Measures about 6" tall x 10-1/2" in diameter. All screws appear to be original in legs and each iron leg base has a#3 stamped in the metal. It really needs a little needlepoint or period fabric to complete the stool. I ship in USA only. No international.

Antique Footstool. Nice Carved Wood Sides and Original Round Ball Feet
This is a lovely little antique footstool in excellent shape. I believe the fabric has been changed at some point. It is a designer upholstery fabric that is a medium dark green and has a slight sheen to it that I believe shows in the photos. There is also green trim around the footstool. The bottom edge is carved wood all the way around the little footstool. Under the edges are these adorable round ball feet. I believe there are good pictures of the underside which shows the true age of the piece. It is in excellent. Rarely used condition. It measures 17" x 13" and is about 6" tall in the center. Antique intricately hand carved child's maple wood footstool 13.5" x 11" x 8" hi
The top of this vintage childs foot stool is a woodcarver's masterpiece. Hand carved in relief around the outer edges are all the letters of the alphabet and Roman numerals. A poem in the middle is framed by relief carvings of Little Bopeep. The Three Blind Mice, Humpty Dumpty, Goldilocks, Little Boy Blue, and a spider(not sure what the spider's about) The poem in the center reads: This little stool is mine I use it all the time To reach the things I couldn't And lots of things I shouldn't It is obviously hand made and must have taken many. It has a needle point cover and is 11-1/2” high x 12” wide x 14” long. The needle point has some wear that I need to point out. There are a lot of small tufts from natural use( see photo) and 2 spots that have lost the tufts. In the photo of these 2 you will see one on the bottom and there is another at the 3 o’clock position. These are all from natural wear. It is solid and still has a lot of years to go.

This charming antique needlepoint stool was recently acquired from an estate sale. The carved wood base is accented with an archway style design in the wood. The black needlepoint boasts a gorgeous bouquest of pink roses. The stool measures 8" tall x 14 1/4" long x 9 3/4" wide. The needlepoint is in excellent condition. I could only find one extremely tiny white dot on the black background. No holes or fading. The stuffing is firm and the stool is very clean. The wood finish has some scratches as seen in the photos. Antique French Louis XVI Green Gilt Wood footstool Tapestry orig needlepoint
Up for consideration is a fine diminutive Antique French Louis XVI footstool or Ottoman. I believe it is stuffed with straw or hay. It measures 24 inches long by 13 1/4 inches deep by 13 inches tall. There is some nice neoclassical motifs carved along the apron as well as at the legs. It is very sturdy and has no foul odors. It is only sturdy enough for feet though and could not actually be sat on. It appears that the outer liner underneath has been reattached using Staples. Also. Vtg Antique Carved Turned Wood Leg Hassock Ottoman Flower Needlepoint Footstool
Here is a very old wooden carved and turned leg footstool with a beautiful needlepoint floral cover. This stool is very solid with only minor wear. It measures 13 1/2" long. 11" wide, and stands 8" tall. The color of the fabric is really hard to photograph, but is best described a a deep burgandy, almost brown color. The wood looks like walnut to me, but I am not sure. Thanks for looking.

Rare Antique Vintage Victorian Curved Iron Leg Footstool w/Tapestry Cover Measures approx. 11.25" diameter(wood) x 7" tall. It has very unusual curved iron legs and wood ball detailing. The top is the original(I believe) woven tapestry fabric which is very worn. There appear to be some added/replaced tacks used on the fabric. Though these are vintage and not recently done. Offering a very sturdy antique footstool with a green covering. It is 12 3/4 in diameter and it is 7 inches tall. The turned feet are break free as is the frame. The green covered is spotted and there are remains of old needlepoint canvas. Braid and round brass nails around the lower edge. The finish appears to be original with some wear.
