ANTIQUE M. BANCROFT GLASS BALL CLAWFOOT OAK ADJUSTABLE PIANO STOOL - V.G. COND.
Up for auction is this antique adjustable piano stool made by the M. Bancroft Company of Lowell. Mass. USA at the turn-of-the-century. The natural oak piano stool has a seat that measures 14 1/2" in diameter which is larger than most piano stool seats since this stool was cut down from a high back piano stool which always has larger seats. The adjustable piano stool seat has a height of 18" in the down position and adjusts up to 24" at it's highest. The legs are very sturdy not needing wiring like many turn-of-the-century piano stools. The clawfeet come with glass balls that are also in very good condition with no chips or cracks after many decades of use. Weighs 16 lbs. before packaging. Some age cracks in the seat as the very thick wood has been drying out over the decades. Sturdy and made to last. One leg is about 1/4" shorter and causes the chair to rock. This antique stool is fresh out of the woodwork and really has the look. I found it in an attic and it belonged to the mans grandfather who was a draftsman. Cast iron with oak seat and back. Mounted on an old shipping box and looks like its been on it forever. I think the coolest thing is the cover. Its nice and worn but very solid and not damaged. It has cool brass eyelets on sides. I peeked under it and the oak seat looks like new under it. Looks like the cover has been on this stool since it was made. I have seen stools like this before but never with a cover on it. There is no damage to the piece at all. No cracks or repairs to wood or cast iron. It swivels and is adjustable. As it stands it is 41" high not counting the base. Antique c 1700 William & Mary English Oak Joint Stool-Childs or Foot Stool
A William& Mary period oak joint stool measuring about 16 7/8” tall. 14.5” long, and 12” wide. This shorter size piece would have been a child's chair, or used as a foot stool. The woman I purchased this from acquired it from a professor friend of hers in Pennsylvania. It features pegged construction. With old forged rose-cut nails attaching the top. Said top is cracked and swayed, and has pulled away from the skirt, so if a replacement(as is often found with these) it was done many years ago. It is otherwise sound throughout, with scattered wear as pictured. The previous owner put felt pads on the bottom of the feet, but these could certainly be removed if desired. Age is late 1800's to early 1900's. 19 1/2" fully down-24 1/2" fully up to where the threads come undone so about 23" of safe usable height. Seat is 14 1/4" diameter and dished in the middle for comfort. Signed Schuermann Washington NJ. Leg spread is 14" across the closest feet. 18 1/2" across the farthest. Glass/crystal balls have air bubbles and in good shape. Threads in the iron mounting mechanism look good and are not worn out and it adjusts nicely. Wood is probably oak. Joints are tight. Some shallow drying cracks. Seat has various colored woods but looks original. You can feel the joint where the wood changes color o the seat but it seems solid enough. I am going to remove the 4 screws that hold the iron to the bottom of the seat to hold the box size down for shipping. Some nails at the top where a seat would be attached. Feet are screwed in and glass does not show any breaks. I can remove the wood legs if you just want the claw feet. Beautiful antique oak bench or ottoman in Mission Arts& Crafts style in oak. Oak grain is lovely. Great patina. It's about 15" square. Legs are 13.5" tall but with upholstery it stands 15" and is 15" square across the top. Purchase in Texas antique shop about 20 years back Lovely condition. Right from my living room. Professionally upholstered in lovely blue herringbone heavy fabric. Nice and firm and in beautiful firm condition, done recently. Smoke-free and pet-free home. No damage, flaws, odor or problems, just set into place.

Antique Mission Oak Foot Stool Black leather Top All original
Up for auction is a oak mission foot stool. It is 17 3/4 inches wide by 11 3/4 inches. It is 14 inches high at each corner post and 13 1/2 high in between. The original Leather top is 9 1/4 inches by 15 1/4 inches. It is good condition very sturdy with a few scuffs and scratches and a small patch on the leather that looks like there was a label or tape on it a one time( pictures 11 and 12) it only shows up in the bright sun light. It may just need some black shoe polish, please see pictures for condition I've taking pictures of all 4 sides, other wise in all it is in great shape.
