This classic victorian style piano stool is very pretty. And would make a great restoration project. The bottom frame is composed of cast iron. It is beautifully engraved and features three gorgeous twisted legs that add volumes to the overall style. The seat portion appears to be made of pine. It looks as if it was just the base that a padded cushion or covering was glued to. You can see some of the left over residue from this in the pictures. The cast iron portion is in great shape, with no dents, dings or bends whatsoever. The part that adjust spins up and down quite smoothly. There is light surface rust in a few places that should be very easy to remove. It is around 18" tall, and the legs are 18" apart at there widest points. This is a very nice piece! Here we have for auction a truly antique solid oak Jacobean joint stool dating to the beginning of the 17th century circa 1600-1620. This wonderful little stool which as lived to around 400 years old has the original top with original nails supported atop a pegged joint frame with four turned legs. As you can see from the pictures the stool has been reduced in height at sometime. Probably due to rot or damage but still maintains a good solid frame and is incredibly well made. Rustic Antique Round Miniature Oak Stool 9 1/2 Inches High - Hand Turned! 4 Legs
This is as rustic as they come. I came across this at an old English auction. None of the legs are exactly the same because they're hand turned and the seat is also hand turned. At only 9 1/2 inches tall it's the right height for a milking stool. The Oak has beautiful grain and the wood has great character although there is a ring on the seat visible in the pictures. A beautiful Georgian(circa 1800) stool in solid oak acquired from a country house in Cornwall. The second of two similar stools currently available. Which, together, would make an attractive associated pair of fire side stools. Broad cabriole legs with pad feet. Early mortice and tenon construction to the frame. Secured with oak pegs and later mount blocks behind each corner. Some historic repair work to a couple of the legs which is largely invisible and contributes to the immense chartacter of the object. It is nonetheless superemely robust and solid as you would expect of English oak. Original seat frame. Antique Adjustable Oak Piano/Organ Stool w Crystal Ball/Claw Bird Feet New York
17 1/2" fully down-23 1/2" fully up to where the threads come undone so about 22" of safe usable height. Seat is 14 1/2" diameter and dished in the middle for comfort. Signed the New York Piano Stool Manufacturing Company. Sliver chip to the underside of the seat which hurts nothing. Leg spread is 14" across the closest feet. 19 1/2" across the farthest. Glass/crystal balls are loaded with air bubbles and in good shape. Very ornate claw feet with toes and claws and scales to look like bird feet. Threads in the iron mounting mechanism look good and are not worn out. I see a split at the very bottom of the pedestal below where the 4 leg cross supports insert and another small split/chip where a leg inserts into the bottom of the seat support. Some one already glued these up at some point in time and it feels sound ... moreand solid with all the joints feeling tight. There is a groove about 1/2" below the end of the center support. I've often seen a piece of copper wire wrapped around at that spot to make sure the crack never opens up again. Finish to the oak has really darkened over the years. I am going to remove the 4 screws that hold the iron to the bottom of the seat to hold the box size down for shipping. I have up for sale a really nice vintage original circa late 1890s to early 1900s Holtzman& Sons- Columbus. Ohio Oak Piano Stool. The spins on a screw,making the seats height either raise or lower depending on the direction you spin it. This particular style is much harder to find than the more common glass ball and claw foot examples. It personally is more appealing to my tastes. Maybe yours as well. This is just a great looking piece- all original. And in mighty fine shape. There is some normal minor light wear but overall its in great shape. It is solid and sturdy, not made for a mountain of a man but it will hold up for most folks. The seat is approx 14-1/2" in diameter and with the seat at its lowest point,it stands approx 19-1/4" tall. The screw spins smoothly and easily. the approximate weight is 15 lbs as it sits. The ... morefinish is Excellent. Nice warm patina, some wear on the seat but nothing serious. As noted in the condition report above, one half round/half ball is missing from the seats beaded edge, two other half balls have minor imperfections- one appears to have been glued back on and there is some remnants of the glue residue. The feet have some minor nicking from use, once again nothing serious. I will package with great care and ship fully insured. The four splayed legs span 13-1/2" It features four splayed wood legs. 8 stretchers, two of which are not original, a reinforcing vertical brace for added stability, and the original varnish now very dark from age. Up for auction is this cool antique 6 legged stool. The legs are oak wood and have a unique shape. Wood legs have been stained. Of the 6 legs. 4 have some slight damage. Pics 4& 5 are of the same leg. This is the only leg that is split-this leg is also a little wobbly. The covering on top of the stool is vinyl. Pic#10 shows there were a couple of previous coverings. Antique Oak Drafting Stool / Chair - Adjustable - Early 1900's
Great early solid oak drafting style adjustable stool. Oak is in nice shape with original finish. Has bentwood foot rest ring. Adjustable height mechanism is all cast/steel and works fine. The mech mounting hardware appears to have been replaced. This is a nice sturdy rare stool that's ready to use. Has some paint marks on it(think an artist had been using it for a long time) Either leave as it or remove the paint. I think it adds to the character since there is not a lot on it. ANTIQUE PRIMITIVE OAK AND PINE WOOD 20" HIGH STOOL This primitive round seat four-leg stool is a size that allows it to be used as a stool or plant stand. It was recently found in a Middlesex. Virginia estate. It measures 20" tall with a top diameter of 11-1/4" x 11-3/4" At the base. The four legs are 13" apart. It features four round splayed oak wood legs. 8 original oak wood stretchers, and a one 2' thick pine board recessed top(seat) It remains in good condition. But does show surface wear including shallow dents and tight separations in the top. The legs are secure to the top. The stool is structurally sound with tight joints, and it sits level and steady on any flat surface. I was told this stool is as early as the 1930's and was probably in a medical office of some kind because the paint on base is porcelain and the adjusting knob is chrome. It easily and smoothly adjusts from 18" to 23.5" high and many increments between. Color is salmon(all original. Not a re-paint) The top is oak and is also original to the stool-top measures about 24" in diameter x 1 1/4" thick. The wood has wear, a crack and a few small holes but it is very sturdy and looks great in my opinion(see photos) The stool rolls very easily and smoothly. Gorgeous antique miniature milking stool in oak. Lovely grain & great condition
A really gorgeous antique(Victorian) miniature 4 legged milking stool. This has a lovely grain and I believe is therefore oak. But am not an expert. With a rectangular top and tapered legs. The stool stands 7 inches tall. Top measures 10.5 x 7.5 inches. This has some considerable age. But comes in really lovely condition. It is very slight signs of wear. But nothing major to mention and legs and extremely strong and sound and piece has no significant wear, damage, marking, etc. From a smoke free home.

It has stunning eastlake-style ball and stick and carved decor. Turned solid oak spindles, heavy carvings on side and front panels, and nice detail wood work/inserts on foot pedals. 2 pedestal candle holders, one on each side. A really nice oak antique in its original finish. A few dings for age, none of them consequential or which detract. One of the side handles has had a screw replaced. Genuine antique footstool of the mission/ craftsman/ arts& crafts era. Solid oak legs and side pieces with hidden bottom panel of pine or similar soft wood. Chamfered legs and dome-headed nails are distinctly representative of the era. Brown leathercloth surface is cracked but has great patina. Old. As found, Very sturdy, All original 24" tall x 16" across at the base x 13" across at the seat. A partial label on the seat bottom says HAYWOOD WAKEFIELD.NEW YORK,NEWYORK. I have no reason to believe that someone way back when would have added this label. The white on the lower end looks and feels like an overspray of paint but i am leaving it up to the next owner to alter this as they wish.

There is a faux cow patterned cloth on the padded top which appears to have been added in the 50s or 60s. The original padded top would most likely have been leather. Most screws, nails, etc. appear to be original. I doubt the underside hinges are original. Please see photo. The box is oak, quite heavy and well made. It is an older item, pre-owned and has been used. There are signs of age and use wear, including some dings, scratch, scuff. Overall solid piece in good estate condition. As mentioned. The piece is heavy- oak and cast iron. I've calculated shipping allowing for a sturdy box and careful, ample packing.
