There is normal age wear to the finish as shown including some small chips, natural splits in the seat, and surface rust to the iron feet. At some point, a metal plate was soldered to the stem on the underside of the seat for stability, so I can't see the manufacturer information on the original iron attachment and the height is non-adjustable. That said, the stool is otherwise solid and functional and looks fantastic if you like the dark, lived-in gothic look. Measures about 14 1/2" wide across the seat, 18" tall, and 18" wide from clawfoot to clawfoot.

Stool(or stand) measurements: 15 1/2" high, 14 1/4" ... moredeep, 14 1/4" wide. There is a faux cow patterned cloth on the padded top which appears to have been added in the 50s or 60s. The original padded top would most likely have been leather. Most screws, nails, etc. appear to be original. I doubt the underside hinges are original. Please see photo. The box is oak, quite heavy and well made. It is an older item, pre-owned and has been used. There are signs of age and use wear, including some dings, scratch, scuff. Overall solid piece in good estate condition. As mentioned. The piece is heavy- oak and cast iron. I've calculated shipping allowing for a sturdy box and careful, ample packing. If for any reason there is an overcharge amounting to a dollar or more, I'll promptly refund the overage. A word about the top pad. The cloth and foam beneath it aren't great. There is wear, discoloration and deterioration. Like many utilitarian items from days gone by, they were used. And when parts wore out, they were replaced- not thrown in the junk pile. That in itself is a bit of a testament.

Oak brass claw Glass Footed Piano Stool This piano stool by H Holtzman& Sons is just waiting for a place in your home or antique collection. Solid oak. With a dark walnut stain, Measures 14 1/2" across& 19 1/2" high Holtzman and Sons was a great company back in the late 1860's to early 1900's. They made all sorts of things and piano stools was a specialty. This stool was made somewhere between 1860 and 1880. This stool is in gently used condition there are the normal dings and scratch's you would find in any piece of furniture of this age.

Oscar Wilde A Most Unusual 18thC& Later Gothic Oak Stool Period: George III/ Victorian Provenance: Unknown Date: c.1760 and later Width: 23.5 inches Depth: 15.75 inches Height: 21.75 inches The oak stool made up from a c.1760 oak close stool with lift up lid having Irish mid-eighteenth century George II feet. With a nineteenth century hybrid mythical creature to the half moon frieze of a lion’s head mask and expanded bat wings, standing on four chamfered Georgian legs, the front legs with applied carving and boldly carved oversized hairy claw feet, survives from mid eighteenth century Britain and later. The condition is mainly good. With a natural and honest patina and deep colour which could be further ... morebrought out with some coloured wax. There is a small strip section of replacement wood to the base which is pine, not oak, whilst there are some small signs of old un-active woodworm to the feet tips. The piece stands well and there are no losses, whilst the hinges may be later than the whole. The main body of the stool is George III. C.1760, being a close stool with the typical chamfered legs, whilst the applied mythical gothic decoration is later, probably mid Victorian. The Irish hairy claw feet are of good quality and would be George II period from a larger piece of furniture. As such, she is an amalgamation of periods, and a wonderfully imaginative one at that. Medieval carved oak pieces from the fifteenth century show the same marriage of a lion and bat which is perhaps most similar to the manticore(Early Middle Persian Martyaxwar) A Persian legendary creature similar to the Egyptian sphinx. It has the body of a red lion, a human head with three rows of sharp teeth(like a shark) sometimes bat wings, and a trumpet-like voice. Antique Adjustable Oak and Iron Stool Industrial Machine Age Factory Loft Decor
Offered is an extremely cool looking old stool. It is height adjustable by turning the top. Typical of adjustable stools of its age. The wood appears to be oak. The base is cast iron and steel. The white areas on the cast iron is simply attic dust, as I am offering this in as found condition. The seat portion of the stool has some splitting. The stool could be used or displayed as is. I have been running my foot stools on ebay for some time now. And have had a number of request for a larger stool and for real leather. Here is my latest one, it measures approximately 12" by 14" and stands 11" tall. All construction is glued and dowelled and is rock solid. I have made it of quarter sawn red oak, stained it medium golden oak and the covering is genuine leather, matte black in color, small pebble finish, and antiqued brass tacks. A lot of time went into making this one. The second picture shows the stool next to a standard soda can, to give some idea of scale. All in all, in my opinion, a very handsome stool. There is a bolt to hold the chair in place underneath. The hardware underneath is cast iron. It is just gorgeous. It has a brass emblem on the back stamped W C E Co 968. That is the makers. Antique Rustic Country Oak Stool. Measures approx 18 1/2" from the floor and is approx 12" wide at widest point. Construction can be seen in the pictures. One of the legs does protrude slightly above the seat as can be seen in the pictures. Stoll is firm and fully usable. Does have wear and tear commensurate with age, please see pictures. 2 feet as per the pictures do appear to have lost part of their feet but this looks to have been done quiet a while back as the wood has darkened and matches the colour of the stool. This old antique stool was purchased 30 years ago and has served us as a piano bench. The seat is at 25 inches high. The foot rest is 16 inch diameter. Although the seat has an adjustable component, there must be a gear set missing, because it doesnot rise, it only rotates on access. Made of oak and iron in the USA, this antique stool has a couple chiggered/ chipped spots at feet, some scratches and signs of wear/use. Sold as is where is. Has ornately carved legs and a hinged seat with latch closure for a lock. The interior is one main storage compartment measuring approximately 12" long by 7" wide by 4.5" tall. The underside of the lid shows evidence that the latch was replaced at some point in time. Also. On top of the bench a primitive staple repaired a crack. The oak chair top is by Marble& Shattuck and I think was originally an office chair. It was at some point married up with the old industrial green tubular steel stool base. It works fine. The tube the post under the chair sits in has a bronze bushing in it as a bearing. The chair is somewhat wobbly in that bushing. So perhaps a new bushing is needed. There is a set screw on the side of the tube at the top of the base. If you use it, then the stool won't swivel. Sizes: 20-1/2" wide at the foot rest. 23" deep from the seat back to the foot rest in front, 43-1/2" high at the seat back, 26-1/2" high when the seat is at its lowest point The oak seat has a big split in it as shown. It needs to be glued in my opinion. The side braces also have splits in the wood down low underneath. The finish is quite worn with scratches. Scuffs and such from years of use and handling. Wisc. arts and craft mission stool. it appears to be all original including the tacks to fasten down the leather top. it also has 4 original brass buttons on the top. it is as solid as a rock and does not wiggle, wobble, or move in any way. the leather top is in good condition with no rips or tears. this is a very fine early mission piece, the legs are one piece with a portion of the top of each leg turned into a swirl like pattern. it is jointed together in an excellent fashion, no nails or screws used except the original carpet tacks for the leather top. it is 15.25 inches by 15.25 inches and 13.5 inches tall. it can go ups or parcel post at a minimal expense which is the buyers responsibility. good luck

Up for auction is an antique foot stool. The top comes off to use for storage underneath. It measures 19 long x 10 wide x 10 1/2 tall. Some wood cracks and chips. But foot stool seems very solid. I believe the wood is OAK. The bottom is made of some other type of wood. I took close up shots of the woods so you can see it for yourself and make you own judgement. Measures 11” wide by 18 ½” long by 23 ¼” tall this very early English Joint Stool is all original. The molded top is made from figured hard wood and held in place with the four original large wood pegs. The slight spieled legs have classic Jacobean turnings and the side aprons have a carved shape. All four stretchers are pegged in place and have the proper wear for a 17 th century Joint Stool. The only problem is a long missing corner from the top. There are no other problems or restorations and the finish is definitely early. Underneath you can see where the long pegs have come through to the inside.
