I believe that it is from England as I purchased it with a load of antiques from England and Belgium. It appears to be quite old but I don't know the exact age. It is sturdy and can be used with no problems. Due to it's age it looks like it has been repaired. It has had steel reinforcements added underneath the piece and you can see the brackets in the pictures. It also has some spots where the wood is chipped off. 3 of the 4 small wood scrolls on the inside corners have been broken off. That is not very noticeable but I wanted to point it out. If you are looking for a perfect footstool you may not want this one. It shows it's age and has a great vintage look. It is not perfect but looks great to me. I've tried to take a number of pictures so that you can judge for yourself it's quality and value. Please feel free to email me any questions you may have about this item. Bottom shows: 3 B" with two dots under the B. I can read"MADE" the rest is really faded but could be Belgium or Bulgaria or even Sweden-definitely not America.but is soooooo hard to see! 2 original nails are missing. One having been replaced with a different style. There is minimal damage to the needlepoint, considering it's age, only 3 spots about 1/4 inch; Size is 14 x 10 inches across the top including the padding which is some kind of natural filling Colors are still great considering the age. It's not been in direct sunlight at all.

HOTLINE: 425- 877-1074. Charming. Petite, antique tuffet. Age, history, and renovations are unknown, but rectangular nailheads on the bottom may be indication that the basic structure is quite old. Nicely crafted wooden body is quite solidly made and sturdy. The top of the footrest is upholstered with hooked wool strawberries and leaves on a black field. The loops are done with a fine hand and give the impression of needlepoint. This charming hand-worked top is a later addition over whatever original cover the stool had. Some of the fabric corners are coming untucked. The upholstery is dusty. The body of the footstool under the padded top creates a visually intriguing profile by use of concave. Convex, and straight lines, all supported on 4 round wooden feet. The central wooden portion appears to have been stained red originally, between ... more2 levels originally black. Antique French Louis XVI Green Gilt Wood footstool Tapestry orig needlepoint
Up for consideration is a fine diminutive Antique French Louis XVI footstool or Ottoman. I believe it is stuffed with straw or hay. It measures 24 inches long by 13 1/4 inches deep by 13 inches tall. There is some nice neoclassical motifs carved along the apron as well as at the legs. It is very sturdy and has no foul odors. It is only sturdy enough for feet though and could not actually be sat on. It appears that the outer liner underneath has been reattached using Staples. Also. The mellon colored cover on this piece is near perfect, wear is minimal. Made of beautiful Mahogany the footstool measures 17 3/4 wide and 11 inches deep and stands 7 inches in height. This is such a very sweet little antique footstool. It is diminutive in size. Being only 5" tall, 10 3/4" long, and 7 1/2" wide. The piece is French, 19th century at least if not earlier, possibly period 18thc. It is in the Louis XV provincial style, walnut, with carved cabriole legs. There are some worm holes, so I know it has some good age, and spent a good portion of its life in Europe. The top is a more modern needlepoint with a petit-point flower center. beautiful colors. There are a few stitches of the needlepoint missing and a tiny tear in one corner(not noticeable at all) The underside shows the age and construction of the wood. you can see the very old glue holding the hand made joints together. Hard to date this very nice Queen Anne Style Stool with a Floral Needlepoint but the best estimate is around 1920-30. Needlepoint is in amazing shape and the piping(velvet? is in place. Needlepoint appears to be done by hand. The legs are quite solid with a few age-related marks that provide character but do not detract from the piece. The color of the needlepoint portion on the chair and ottoman is'greenish blue' The ottoman is 10 1/2" in height to the top of the handles. 10" in width, 18" long from outer handle to outer handle, and 6 1/2" from the floor to the top of the cushion. Mahogany Double handle Foot stool Needlepoint top Fruit design Overall very good condition. A few areas of loss on the needlepoint. The pear in the middle has a section that isn't done. It seems like the needlepoint artist did this on purpose to show some shading. This is a great addition to any den or living room! I just LOVE it! Found in a local estate. The woman did lots of needlepoint. Beautiful large home on the water in Rhode Island. Lovely work! About 8 1/2 in high About 17 1/4 in across About 10 in deep Dark red maroon background

Possible 1800s Multi-Color Antique French Hand Stitched Needlepoint Footstool
Dimensions for this large stool are 15 inches length. 13 inches width, and 10.5 height. Nice, clean piece. All solid 2 inch thick wood, all hand stiched needlepoint fabric.nicely padded with a nice wrap around trim. Folks, this piece is possibly late 1800s and could be from France, I am just not sure. The one thing I am sure of is this stool is one very nice piece. Go out and find one this size for this price. Best of all, Thank you for looking

BEAUTIFUL ANTIQUE WALNUT FOOTSTOOL W/PINK NEEDLEPOINT
This is a beautiful Walnut foot stool from 1890. It has a needlepoint cover. It is 18 1/2" long. 14 1/2" wide and 12 1/4" tall. This was my grandfather's foot stool, we have had this in my family since 1890. For the last 55 years it hasbeen at my house in Vermont. The shipping charge includes postage. Insurance, tracking and packaging.
