This classic victorian style piano stool is very pretty. And would make a great restoration project. The bottom frame is composed of cast iron. It is beautifully engraved and features three gorgeous twisted legs that add volumes to the overall style. The seat portion appears to be made of pine. It looks as if it was just the base that a padded cushion or covering was glued to. You can see some of the left over residue from this in the pictures. The cast iron portion is in great shape, with no dents, dings or bends whatsoever. The part that adjust spins up and down quite smoothly. There is light surface rust in a few places that should be very easy to remove. It is around 18" tall, and the legs are 18" apart at there widest points. This is a very nice piece! PLEASE TAKE TIME TO REVIEW THE ADD AND ASK QUESTIONS BEFORE BIDDING!

Antique Primitive Bench Top Cast Iron Letter Punch Leather,Tin? Wood Handle Tool
For your consideration Antique Cast Iron Bench or Table Top Letter Press. You can see the Alphabet around the handle. The handle turns to change the letters. The movement of the dial is good and smooth. Picture 5 shows where you slip the material into the slot and press down on the handle. A metal punch comes down and you can see picture 7 how the letter H looks. There is a flap under the punch area that opens to remove the debris from the punch. I do not know what this was used for. There are the numbers stamped into the base: 5 9 6. Than the numbers 4216 also on the base. Heavy tool has a wooden handle with a crack in it, but it is a sturdy solid handle measuring at 6" with 4 1/2" wood. Purchased at a local estate from the 62 yr old granddaughter of the original owner. This piece is ALL original with Velvet Chenille upholstery. Pix taken in natural light with color true to depiction. Bench measures 18 1/2 high and 32" long. The seat is 11 1/2" wide and very sturdy. Cast iron frame with a bronze patina wash. Have not been able to find any info on the signed manufacture of Congress Specialty co, Chicago as depicted in pix#s 9& 10. There is another marking on inside leg of 39 G.S in pix# 6. Pix# 11 shows a little rust on bottom of one leg. Upholstery is still sturdy. Does have a few places where Her cat chose to sharpen her claws so there are a few loose threads. But no major shredding. The ashtrays have aluminum upper and copper bottoms. The bottoms have a few dings as depicted in pix#5. Do Not know if ashtrays ... moreoriginally had handles. Seeing two small holes on top of them, i asked the granddaughter, but she never recalled seeing handles on them. The legs have a gorgeous design with ornate patterns and lion claw feet. The bench has a fabric seat which has been covered in a French toile fabric. The toile depicts several French Country, rural scenes and is quite lovely. It features a burgundy background with muted colors in the patterns. The bench is in very good condition. There is some very minor loss of the gilded finish in just a couple of areas. The fabric appears to be fairly new and is in very good condition. The padding is also quite good. This antique hand-crank bench grinder/ sharpener is an exceptional example of early tool manufacturing in the USA. Clean. Complete and fully functional, it was manufactured in the early 1900's in Pike, New Hampshire at the Pike Mfg. Company. Weighing almost 13 pounds. The heavy-duty grinder features an 8 inch cast iron body, a 7 inch crank with a 3& 1/2 inch wood handle, two substantial bench clamps with a sturdy turn-screw, a 4 inch guide, and a 6 inch whetstone wheel. Original green paint is present on the cast iron body. Under the whetstone wheel on one side of the cast iron body. The grinder is marked in raised letters, Pike Mfg. Co. Pike N.H. I took off the whetstone to display it. See Photo) The reverse side of the grinder is marked in raised letters, Artisan 6" The grinder is in excellent condition. The Pike Family founded ... morethe Pike Mfg. Co in the early 1800's. The firm quarried stones for grinding from natural deposits in the area. Antique Early 1900's Cast Iron Bench Seat w Winged Lion Sides Garden or Vanity
Fresh from an upstate New York estate! This offering is for an antique cast iron bench or seat which would look great indoors or out! Picture it in a garden area or as a vanity bench. It is a single person bench seat and is solidly made of cast iron with a curved metal seating area. To each side are ornate cast iron pairs of winged lions- mythological creatures- facing each other. The seat has criss-crossed metal legs with metal flowers at the point of crossing. There are horizontal cross braces. The bench is NOT a folding bench. It was solidly riveted together with iron pegs and is quite heavy for it's size. The only bolted portions are the ornate sides which are attached from the underside with two slotted bolts. I have removed these(easy to put back) for more economical shipping. This bench was found with old white paint. I see goldtone ... moremetal peaking through on the paint. see paint wear in pics) I don't believe this"gold" to be brass as the metal holds a magnet- it may however. Had a gold wash or had gilt accent at one time. This seat is solid and sturdy. It will hold a substantial person but look delicate while doing it! The seat measures 24 1/8" long and is 13" wide. Long hours of bending over and turning of the heavy wheel to process the family's home grown produce. Led to the addition of the sit down work bench. Antique Fancy Industrial Cast Iron Table/Work Bench Legs
This is an interesting pair of antique industrial cast iron work table or bench legs circa 1900. They were found with the original wooden connector bar. It is hardwood and has years of wear from feet resting on it.On the back of each leg there is a specially cast socket for the connector with a hole for screwing. To re-purpose these legs you could use or not use the connector or make a longer one to suit your concept.Each leg has an upwards curving cast iron support that is perpendicular to the leg and would add support towards the middle of your table top.Each leg measures approx. 22 7/8" high. The width at the bottom is approx. 19" The width at the top is 15 3/4" On the inside one leg is marked L for left and the other is marked R for right. On the wood bottom there are 2 dates 1958& 1957 or 1951 maybe when it was recovered? Needs assembled. A couple of the screws for the seat to the base need replaced.
