Antique Architectural Salvage Wood Mahogany Shabby French Chic Wall Door Header
Up for sale is a salvaged mahogany wood door header or wall décor piece. I purchased this from an architectural salvage warehouse in Cleveland. OH. It was solid mahogany wood with a beautiful wreath with ribbon carving on it. I took it home, cleaned it up and painted a creamy white coat of Annie Sloan chalk paint on it. I only very slightly distressed and detailed the carving and edging of the piece with gold applique paint. It is so pretty! Appx 1/2" width. 16"H and 36"L. Check out my other estate items. New pine hewn from 10- 20 year old trees don't have the same insect-resistant, rot-resistant, or even fire-resistant qualities that old pine, hewn from trees hundreds of years old have. Old pine is also much harder and stronger than young pine. Hardware: The door is currently not equipped with any hardware. If you would like to add any hardware. These. Obviously, are hand made, MASSIVE hinges. They swing open 180 degrees. The pin or pintle is 1" in diameter. The vertical brackets are 4" wide x 14" Tall and 1/4" Thick! The horizontal brackets are 24" LONG AND THE ENTIRE BRACKET IS 28-1/2" LEFT TO RIGHT. The connecting bar from vertical to horizontal is a massive 1' THICK piece of plate. Upon inspection I did find that the chime main spring is broken. THE SCREWS ARE MISSING FROM THE BACK AND THERE IS A HOLE THAT WAS DRILLED IN THE TOP. A FEW MINOR CHIPS, BUT IN VERY GOOD CONDITION, FEEL FREE TO ASK ANY QUESTIONS.
