It is represented in numerous catalogues of lamp producers for instance Hettier& Vincent made several fixtures for this model. In an old Holophane(Hanots and Verlys) catalogue is is represented under#8547'Laterne Juive' the Jewish Lantern) I was not able to trace down the maker of the fixture. I found several of these mountings in cast brass or bronze and originaly they were covered by green paint. I had them nickel plated and patinated. The lamp is in excellent condition. It has a drop of 33.7 cm(12" and the shade has a diameter of 28 cm(13-1/4" The shade has a weight of 2.8 kilos! The mounting has a diameter of 20cm(7-7/8" it is rewired and holds an old european E27 screw socket. For the US I will replace it for a new US standard socket. ADORABLE FRENCH CHANDELIER This chandelier is so cute. A great size for a hallway or bathroom. Its dripping in crystal prisms in great french shapes, some tear drop some french pendalogue, I think thats what they are called. Its not missing any prisms and its got a great metal frame. Not sure on exact age but I would definitely say vtg. Its got 4 lights in the center that take a candelabra bulb. I dont know how to check it to see if it works but the wiring doesnt look too old. Very pretty also to sit in a bird cage. No ceiling canopy with this piece, sorry. Description This is a FINE FRENCH ANTIQUE GILTED CUT GLASS BASKET CHANDELIER or ELECTROLIER dating from the early Twentieth Century c.1920 Measures 14" wide and 20" tall( from the top hanging ring to the bottom of the lower hanging ball) Has a two lamp bulb fitting. The original wiring and the original continental two pin fitting to the end of the wiring. This all looks in good condition, but has not been tested. Working when removed) The top supporting gilted ring is beautifully decorated with elaborate acanthus leaf and scrolled floral decoration; I think this is possibly bronze. But could be gilted brass, and it supports pendant cascading graduated cut glass( possibly crystal) droplets in a basket shape, and finished with a bottom gilted finial and hanging faceted cut glass ball. It also has the original ceiling rose fitting ... moreand chain. Condition: This is not a modern reproduction light fitting and consequently not as perfect. Though that is part of the charm and essence of owning an original. I would say it is in very good original untouched condition. The thin wire metal connectors between the glass droplets are original and consequently a bit fragile and brittle ~ a few have been replaced with some ad hoc wiring. Some would benefit from being renewed ~ very straightforward, if a bit time consuming. Please refer to the detailed photographs, they are a true represenation of the condition. Glittering Vintage French Five Light Crystal Chandelier Luscious bronze chandelier. Dripping with oodles of sparkling crystals. This chandeliers ceiling rose is made of gilt metal and has a fluted centre and decorated rim and a suspension chain of rectangular plain links. The elegant bronze central column has a lovely cut glass bowl at the top with four pairs of button and almond shaped crystals attached. The column itself tapers inward toward the base and is embossed with a beautiful design of feather plumes and swirls with a stipple detail inderlying. The centre of the chandelier is gilt metal and has a matching design top and bottom with a plain central band. The five bronze arms radiate from the centre. Each lavishly decorated with swirls of feathers and culicues, and each has two pairs of button and large almond crystals descending from ... morethem. Set at the end of each arm are the the gorgeous candle cups. Each in cut glass matching the one at the top, and all with more sparkling crystals attached. All come complete with faux candle sleeves. The chandelier is completed at the bottom with an ornate bronze acorn finial with yet another set of large multi crystals attached to it. In excellent condition. There are a few nibbles to the top of the candle sleeves, the glass and crystals have no chips or cracks and the bronze has attained a warm mellow glow over the years. A glorious chandelier full of detail and shimmering with crystals and glass. This light would add french vintage glamour any setting. The dimensions are as follows: Overall Height: 80cms Diameter: 46 cms The height can be easily adjusted by adding or removing chain links. I have for auction this most unusual and incredibly beautiful Art Nouveau glass chandelier. It was found in a house clearance here in the South of France. It will date to C1910 but has been re-wired and a modern bulb holder a dded. This is just as I found it, so it would be wise to still have this checked before use. I have never seen a chandelier quite like this before, it is amazing, with lovely glass leaves, glass tubes and wonderful bright emerald green glass beads, there are some of the tube and bead drops missing but when you think of the age of this chandelier, it is commensurate with it's age, I do not feel it detracts from the chandelier only emphasize it's historic authenticity. The maximum drop of the chandelier from it's original ceiling rose is approx 28.5" or 72cms. Offered is a fabulous 47 piece lot of old French Cut pendalogue chandelier prisms. This is an asssorted lot with the smaller ones measuring 3 inches long plus the top bead. The largest ones are 5 inches long plus the top beads. These are flat on one side and cut with a double bevel edge on the other. A great mixed lot with some unusual cuts, some have glass florete top jewels. There are more than enough prisms her to really dress up your old French Versailles chandelier. VINTAGE 33pc LOT FRENCH WHITE PORCELAIN CHANDELIER LAMP PRISMS ROSES
Offered is a nice large lot of vintage never used. Fine white porcelain chandelier roses. There are a total of 33 fine porcelain, hand made roses in this lot. As you can see no two are alike. These range in size from 1.25 to just under 2 inches in diameter. All have a tiny opalescent glass beads on the bottom and come with a top glass oval jewel/prisms so they can be hung. The bead and jewels can be removed so that they can be directly mounted on the chandeliers or lamps. I believe these to be of French origin as the Italian ones are generally not as fine as these. Produced by Verreries des Hanots in the 30ies this shade does not exist with a signature. It is represented in numerous catalogues of lamp producers for instance Hettier& Vincent made several fixtures for this model. In an old Holophane(Hanots and Verlys) catalogue is is represented under#8547'Laterne Juive' the Jewish Lantern) I was not able to trace down the maker of the fixture. I found several of these mountings in cast brass or bronze and originaly they were covered by green paint. I had them nickel plated and patinated. The lamp is in excellent condition. It was recently purchased from an old estate near St. Louis. Missouri. Condition: Untested but appears to be in great condition for its age(which is unknown) It will probably need rewiring for safety reasons alone, the porcelain sockets seem fine, glass is also fine. There are a couple of spots that have white paint on it that we did not attempt to remove. The cherub appears to be bronze but other parts may be brass, we tested with a magnet and it wouldn't adhere to any of the metal surfaces. There are a few tarnished spots but overall an excellent vintage chandelier. They are concave and recess into the fixture. The glass has narrow outer borders of clear glass which is then satin frosted.
