We are offering this outstanding 2 section fancy real antique church railing. Circa 1867, that is constructed of beautiful oak and detailed solid brass! The railing was used in a church up until the 1980's, was removed for a new design, and has been in safe dry storage for the last 30 years. Each railing section measures 6 feet long and ... morefeatures solid brass columns with detailed brass leaves and vines. All of the hardware is brass and original. There is a 6 foot long"center section" solid brass rod that pulls out to act as a gate. This retracts into one of the rails and has a"ball and socket" type of connection between the two rails. If fully extended, the entire rail measures 18 feet wide. One end of the railing still has 2 wood dowels from where it was attached to it's former support. I will leave them there if you want to use them. These two 6 foot long rails have use marks in the oak along with light stains from the years of use and the brass has both patina and areas where it was polished over the years. Some of the brass screws holding the brass frame and flowers/vines are loose in various areas. This is a wonderful opportunity to acquire rare antique church railing that would have a wide variety of new uses. It is offered as pictured and described. Shipping will have to be via truck freight and will be quoted based on your zip. These 2 sections of church rail will be securely padded and shipped in a heavy duty custom made cardboard package. The upper columns are intact with ornate capitals. The lower column capitals and decorative moldings are missing. The mirror opening is framed in egg and dart molding. It measures 60.25 inches wide. It is 78.5 tall and is 11 inches deep. The firebox is 36 wide and 35.5 tall. Overall. It is in good condition. There are misc. scratches and dings as it is antique. Description This is a great piece that was salvaged from a Philadelphia Victorian home. It is made of oak with a light coat of reddish brown paint. The upper shelf is trimmed in beaded molding. It is supported by tall round columns with ornate capitals. The lower shelf is curved with carvings on the face supported by a center bracket. The firebox and beveled mirror are framed in egg and dart molding. It measures 60.5 inches wide by 86 inches tall and is 12.5 inches deep. The firebox opening is 41.5 wide by 39 tall. Overall it is in good condition. There are misc. scratches and dings as it is antique. It could use a good cleaning. The upper shelf has chips at the corners. For sale is a fantastic rare set of 8 antique mahogany columns! They are 6 foot tall. The columns are 6 inches across. The footprint of the base and top is 10 inches square. All the bases and tops are included. The carving is wood. Some of the carving is missing. Maybe you know a plaster artist that can replicate the missing pieces. Most of the columns have the missing carved pieces on one side. you can pick up 30 miles west of Chicago in Oswego or you must arrange and pay for your own shipper. A one piece antique mantel with both hand and applied carvings with fluted columns. This mantel has dentil molding along the front of the mantel. There is applied ribbon. Flower and swag designs which grace the front of the mantel between a raised oval medallion. This mantel shows repairs along the dentil molding where the top shelf was reattached to mantel and does not line up perfectly flush. The surface of the shelf shows repairs.
