Case needs no repairs now but has had some reglued seams and a little round solid patch on top from where a switch tip poked thru at one time. all latches and hindges still work fine. Late 50's Brown Case for Gibson ES-175 Hello. Up for sale is a nice brown hardshell case for a Gibson ES-175 archtop and similar guitars with a 16" body width. J-45s and Southern Jumbos will also fit. This case has 5 latches and was manufactured by the Stone case company in Brooklyn. NY. The case is in VGC. All of the latches and hinges work and the case closes and open well. There is no damage other than cosmetic signs of use like some fraying of the covering material. There are also some dings and scratches in the covering material. There is some tape reidue along a few edges on the bottom side of the case. The fairly rare 4 digit serial number is 6879 and the pots look original. The guitar has about average playwear for a 50+ year old instrument. There's plenty of finish scratches and some chips and dings as seen in the pictures. The neck is straight and there is a headstock repair. The tuners are original and fully functional. It has just been deep cleaned and detailed. The front. Back, sides and neck were waxed and buffed with a high grade carnuba wax. The fingerboard was cleaned, buffed and moisturized with an instrument grade lemon oil. It was set up with 10/46's, adjusted and plays very nicely. All the electronics were tested and they work well. One from Capricorn records and one' Alabama the beautiful' It has wear on the edges. All the joints have been glued and it is solid. Some of the tolex is missing. Some of the material on the handle is missing. The worst part is the bottom where there is lots of tape. I did not try to peel it back. All the latches work and it is solid. But worn. I have for sale a vintage Fishing Creel. I have found similar examples of this creel sold by Horrocks Ibbotson Co. I believe it was made in Hong Kong. Japan. It is in used but still very good usable or decorative condition with no breaks in the weaving that I can see. The fish shape latch is complete with some rusting on the metal. The creel measures 14" across at the base and 9 3/4" across the top. All in all a very well made fishing creel. If anyone has anymore information on this basket I would be glad to add it to the description. I use USPS Priority Mail in the USA so the cost to ship will be a flat rate $6.00. This is a lonely old brass ice box lock with handle. Because it has no hinges to match. Since it is so old, there are only a few old hinges that would match anymore. Reproduction hinges could match, but of course only original items could ever be in my collections! It doesn't have the key either, but a locksmith could make one. Did you know some of the old ice boxes were able to be locked? Times were tough in the early 1930's. Age around 1880's/1910 time period. The second scan shows the back, and YES only the back locking latch is iron. The entire front is brass. Some collectors put groups of old ice box hardware in a collection. And frame them. BARN FARM VINTAGE DOOR OR GATE HASP LATCH
Old farm estate find. This auction is for a barn door or gate hasp latch. Only what is pictured is included. It normally would have had a U- shaped that would go into the slot on the hasp w and then the rotating"T" hook would drop down to secure it. At the time of finding, the previous owners had just gone primitive and hade made a"U" bracket by bending a large nail. Hey, it worked. The slot is 1 5/8" long and 5/6" wide. The hasp was mounted to the door using one lag bolt in the 1/2" hole at the other end. Hasp is 8" x 1" There is some white paint on the hasp and minor rust but it is fully functional and should last another 100 years. Weight is 3.8oz. From 1961 to 1968(graduated from high school) we played in the barn that these spikes came from. When the barn was torn down in 1975. I collected these along with many oak barn beams. In 1976 I built an apartment full of furniture using the sliced up barn beams. I thought that I might some day use the metal spikes somehow? Now I am downsizing my material possessions.
