For your consideration is this adorable Primitive Folk Art Snowman w/Birdhouse Door Panel Displayed on the wall during Winter[Let it Snow] season for 5 years. I purchased it from the artist at a midwest Craft Show. Very good to Excellent"used" Condition I see no sign of wear in the painted area of the actual snowman design. However. Some small areas of blue paint on the door panel frame edges are missing[rubs or chips] Also a thin line of the brown paint is missing on the left side where the panel connects to the frame. It must have separated a little after being painted. This flaw is more visible from the side as shown in the photos and not noticeable from the front. These defects could easily be touched up with paint. Antique vintage Wooden Scottish Pine Door Stop Wood Knob Brass Sleeve Provenance
Provenance This door stop belonged to Peter Smail(a relative) who was a Milk Haulier in Lochmaben Dumfriesshire Scotland through the late 1930's to the early 1960's We have another doorstop for sale this is the larger of the two which has a piece of wood chipped off on the base Peter lived in Bruce Villa(see photo) Just off the Main Street in Lochmaben, a small village with a big history and reputed to have been the birthplace of Robert the Bruce, King of Scotland(hence the name of the house I imagine) Peter would finish collecting the milk from the local dairy farms early in the morning where he would sit down to a traditional Scottish Breakfast and rest on the porch enjoying the early morning sun(more often than not the rain though) A cigarette hanging from his lip, which would tip ash unceremoniously on the doorway as he greeted ... morethe local towns folk beginning their daily routine after Peter had already finished work for the day. The door stop would be manouvred under the front door with the side of his boot and. As you can see from the wear to the top, he would have done this many times during the pre and post war years. Lochmaben lies around 4 miles west of Lockerbie It is said that Robert Burns resided at The Manse in Lochmaben and in a letter to the Provost of Lochmaben. Robert Maxwell, dated 20 th December 1789. vintage wood spice rack shelf with drawer and brass door pull
This piece is Georgeous the doors are layered so they have the 3-D effect and there is even a beveled diamonds on the door frame that I have never seen on one of these little spice racks. Lots of details that I hope showed up in the pictures. I think the little handle on the door is really brass but it is aged really dark as shown in photo 7 and 8. Photo 6 is the photo of the inside of the door and the attachment for the door pull. I can see a little bit of the orange brass showing through the pull. Everything is in great shape the only little mark is two little tack holes shown in photo#9. 14 inches High and just over 8.5 inches at the widest part of the base. It is about 3 inches deep I am happy to answer any questions that you may have.

An antique door rim lock that appears to be hand-made. I am not a hardware collector. But I had someone who was knowledgeable of old hardware look at it. I am only passing along what I was told, but do not guarantee it. He told me that it was an old rim lock that was probably hand made of iron and probably dated to the first part of the 19th century and maybe even into the 18th century. He also thought it was American made. He also said that it was probably removed from the wood and cleaned. The wooden part measures about 9" by 4 1/2"by 1 1/4" The metal or iron portion measures about 5 1/2" by 3 1/2" by 3/4" The wooden portion has 3 holes where it was used to mount to the door and the metal portion has 2 small holes for mounting to the wood(and the holes are also in the wood corresponding to the metal) I feel ... morepretty confident that the lock belongs to the piece of wood even though it is no longer secured to it. Up for auction is this Lovely decorative hand painted wood and wire bird cage. It is a nice large size 18 1/2" tall x 8 3/4" wide x 7 1/2" across the footed bottom. This bird cage has architectural pitched arched roofing. With a wooden finial/dowel at the top. The top and sides is are hand painted with multi-colored flowers over a peach overall background. The door is arches, with a decorative swirled wire knob, turning it locks or unlocks the interior mechanism to lock the door. There is also a drawer at the bottom. This piece is in good condition with maybe a bit of cleaning and touch up paint in areas.
