1800's GOLD GILT 3 Arm WALL SCONCE CANDLE HOLDER, Beautiful!
This a fabulous. Still relevant Wall Sconce Candle Holder. It consists of a lovely, ornate wall bracket with four holes to use for attachment to a wall or post. Extending from the Wall Bracket is an arm with three openings to support the Three Arms containing the Candle Holders. The Three Arms"swing left to right" to direct the candlelight as needed. For the day and time, this was quite innovative. Candlelight was flattering, but a poor source of illumination. This sconce was most likely used near a dinner table or in an interior walkway where seeing details wasn't necessary. If you look closely, you'll see the last candles that were used, still remain in residue. It has left a greenish cast to the metal like verdigris. I was told by the estate official that this was cast bronze but I cannot verify that. It is harder and ... morethe metal able to be cast with more detail that cheaper cast white metal. Looking over the four components to the unit, it This appears to have weathered use and handling for over 100 years. There's no damage, flaws or repairs, even the gold gilt is mostly intact. 52672 PR ANTIQUE 1890 BRASS CLASSICAL MIRROR WALL SCONCE W SATYR MASK & 3 ARMS
A very fine pair of almost identical antique. Circa 1890, cast brass wall sconces in classical style. The scroll leaf pierced frames have a satyr mask crest. There are three arms with acanthus leaf scrolls, with bobeches, the sockets with inserts. The bobeches and sockets of one sconce do not match those of the other sconce. Also the bottom frame of one sconce has two drop finials, which do not appear on the other. Otherwise both have the same frame, and arched and beveled mirrors. The mirrors have their metal backing plates. Both have been nicely burnished on fronts. They total measure 17-1/2" tall by frames 9-1/4" wide, with mirrors 5" wide by 7-3/4" tall. Here is a set of 2. Pabst Beer lighted wall sconces. They are apprx. 12" tall, 11" off the wall, and 8" in diameter. One of the blue globes has a small piece missing on the top, see photos. One of the lights has an in-line on-off switch, and the other has a switch mounted on the wall base. They show normal signs of age with a bit of dust here and there. Circa 1910 wall sconce with Edison patented Bryant socket. Here's a rare piece of lighting history. In good working condition. This fixture cleaned up very nicely and has been rewired for safe use. Edison patented Bryant socket. With mica insulator. The rarely found patent dated fitter(July 14. 1903) is permanately secured to the Bryant socket body. Usually if you see these Edison patented sockets at all, they will have a clamp on fitter attached. The fitter has one replacement screw. With age wear to the socket paddle. The shade is likely circa 1920's shown below under black light. A lovely fixture that is very easily mounted to any existing mounting bracket. Vintage Wrought Iron Gothic Medieval Castle Style Wall Sconce
Please note: Black& Grayish areas on wall sconce is not two colors or fading. Just dusty of which I have cleaned. Just forgot to wipe it down before taking pics. Here’s another blast from the past during the Gothic Revival style in home décor during the 1960’s and early 1970’s. This Wall Sconce is made out of metal or what was called Pot Metal back in the day and painted over to look like wrought iron. However. This one may be painted cast aluminum. It has a flat satin paint finish and was a less expensive way to get the look one was after without the expense of genuine wrought iron, plus it’s also light weight when hanging on the wall so if it came crashing down it wouldn’t do very much damage to the wall or whatever lied beneath. There is no makers mark on the back. But it does come with a ruby red diamond pattern hobnail glass ... morevotive candle holder which glows beautifully when a candle is lit. The glass votive still has it’s original ribbed rubber band at its base so as to mount into the sconce without it slipping around. There are no cracks, chips or breakage and is in excellent vintage condition. This wall scone measures approximately 17-½” inches tall by 8” inches wide by a depth of 3-½” inches. 1970's Vintage Genuine Wrought Iron Gothic Medieval Style Wall Sconce
And here we have available this vintage wall sconce also from the 1960's early 1970's in the Gothic Revival style in home décor which is made out of what I believe to be genuine wrought iron metal. It is quite a heavy and a solid piece showing a natural texture finish on the front and a spade shape on top. It has a fluted drip plate and the candle holder cup has a scalloped edge. There is a gold brass crown piece around the candle holder part which I assume used to hold a tall glass cover over the candle which is missing. There is no makers mark. But it does have the number 1127 embossed into the back. It does not come with a votive glass candle holder since it's meant to hold a tapered candle of which there is some minor residue in the cup. It measures approximately 12" inches tall with the ruffled base 3" inches ... morein diameter. There are no cracks, chips or breakage and is in excellent vintage condition. Spanish Revival Gothic Wall Sconce Candle Holders - Genuine Wrought Iron
Here’s another Spanish Mediterranean Gothic Spanish Revival style in home décor during the late 1940's- 1950's and early 1960’s. This Wall Sconce is made out of genuine wrought iron. It has a flat matte painted finish and is very large measuring in at approximately 20-1/4" inches tall by 9" inches wide at the candle plates which holds two taper candles. The sconce measures approximately 4-4-1/2" inches out from the wall depending on your viewing angle and the curvature underneath the candle plate. Hope this helps. Pair Vintage Antique Single Arm Wall Sconce Lights Crystal Prisms Working
For your consideration Is this beautiful pair of antique wall sconces. They measure 12" long.15 1/2" with the crystals by 3 1/4" wide and stand out from the wall 6 3/4" The sconces do work as shown, they each have a clicker switch on the front, that does work. The wiring in one of the sconces appears to be original and the other has been rewired at some point. They take standard Edison base light bulbs. The sconces have pretty crystal bobeshes and each has six spike prisms. Note that the bobeshes have their Made in Austria tags, only one pictured, but they are both there. There is a slight difference in the color of the sconces, shows up best in photo#4. If they are hanging on either side of something it would not be very noticeable. Here is a vintage/antique Art Deco Style Double Wall Sconce Light Fixture. Although it feels and looks like cast iron. It must be some other metal as it is not magnetic. It does however have a beautiful look to it, with golds, reds, and greens, in a wonderful old design. This piece measures 12" in height, is about 10" wide, and projects from the wall about 4" The original'dripping' candle paper light holders are in wonderful shape- one of them does have a slight tear on the back side. This looks like it could be a lightolier piece, but I can find no markings, other than 1004 S stamped in the bottom of each candle holder. Beautiful victorian figural bronze/ brass putti cherub angel wall sconce with two( 2) gorgeous thick glass shades. Shades are perfect. Fixture shows signs of age. Stamped on back 988K. Fading of finish and it needs to be re-wired. On and Off switch does not work. Sconce measures 19 inches wide. Center of sconce( cherub) measures 8 inches from top to bottom.
