Up for auction is a lovely and worn. Very old Grandma's Flower Garden pattern quilt. 60 x 70 approx. Hand-pieced. Hand-quilted. Tiny hexagon pieces hand-sewn. There is much fraying to fabric. Holes, rubbed clean away, thinning, general wear. Very old quilt was lovingly made and used hard! There are some flowers that are just fine. NO major stains. Just overall wear. May make a stunning wall-hanging as from a distance. Is quite beautiful. I treasure these old labors of love and know that they can be re-purposed or shown for the beauties they are! It has been removed from its frame and there are traces of glue in a couple of places on the back along the very edge. The scene is really quite delightful: a romantic picnic in a garden overlooking a boating lake with a very grand building and covered columned walkway in the background. Two couples are enjoying a picnic in the shady part of the garden complete with wine and fine foods. They are busy'toasting' with wine glasses and engaging in lively conversation. The others present look to be their chaperons and are engaged in activities of their own a discreet distance away. An older lady is strumming on a lute with her faithful hound close by. While a younger girl(her daughter? is posing next to her by ... moreleaning on a tree. Their portraits are being painted by a seated gentleman who is taking his task seriously and looking over his shoulder to see how he is getting on is another young lady. The dog is eyeing up a discarded straw and ribbon hat. In the trees above observing the whole scene are 2 cherubs. The costumes on the people are glorious- think Prince Charming for the men. And Bo-Peep meets Marie-Antoinette for the women. The detailing in the tapestry is tremendous. With so much to see, it never gets boring to look at! The creases in the tapestry are temporary where I have folded it. The tapestry is a lovely size. And would look fabulous displayed as a wall hanging- either framed, or hung on a pole. Here is a very nice McCoy U.S.A. Dish Garden/Planter with a glossy pink glaze. McCoy USA is stamped on the bottom which dates this piece in the 1950's. The planter measures about 7-1/2" long by about 4" wide and stands about 2-3/4" high. The pattern is overlapping diamond shapes. Up for your consideration from my family estate is this excellent reverse painted silhouette advertising print sponsoring a local old time Fruit Garden with calendar& thermometer. The print and reverse silhouette is religious in nature featuring Jesus Mary& lambs. It sports the original tasseled cord& a fold back calendar. The calendar starts with June 1954 thru December 1954. The back shows some discoloration. The item is mounted in the original frame and measures 10" by 8" A great item for your collection. Shipping fees include standard shipping. Vintage Cement Asian Dragon Garden Art Statue Painted White
This lot is for a small concrete dragon statue that was painted white. This piece would look wonderful outside or inside on a bookshelf or as a door stop. The statue weighs just about 3 pounds prior to packaging. The piece is 9 1/2" L x 6" H x 2 1/4" W. I'm guessing that is was spray painted based on the inconsistency in the thickness of paint. There are even a few drip marks from the paint. There is plenty of wear marks on this. Look at the photos where I point out the edges. They are not crisp. It could be that way since removal from the concrete mold- or, they could be flaws. In any event, it would look great in the garden or atop a bookshelf. Any questions. Please ask. Fast shipper.
