Listed is a vintage heavy brass or bronze lions head door knocker with the usual wear for an old door knocker. There is some light paint on the outside edges. But overall has a good patina. This also includes the mounting hardware of 2 screws and a knob. Weighs approx. 2 lbs and measures overall approx. 8" top to bottom with the face sticking out 2" Just the head is approx. 5" top to bottom and 4 1/2" across. Old door knocker that came out of a 1900's circa home in Pittsburgh. PA. I am not an expert or door knocker collector so I will try to describe it to the best of my ability. The door knocker is made of some kind of non magnetic metal(brass, bronze? I have never cleaned it so it is difficult to know for sure. In my opinion the figural image looks like a carpet bagger or hobo. There are no maker marks that I can see. A very rare find for the door knocker or early americana collector.
