These are quality handles from Spain in a Mediterranean style yet not overly ornate. The star at the base reminds me of a Maltese cross. And the top and bottom are designed in what appears to be a torch flame. There show no wear. So I don't think they were ever used. Dimensions: Length is 10-3/4" Width is 2-1/2" The height is 2-3/8 Each handles weighs just more than 1 pound. Marked Spain on one of the handles. No issues with condition. Restored and refinished in an attempt to bring out their original workmanship, appearance and to make the set fully functional as well as to preserve it for future use. The lock mechanism measure 3 ½” high by 2 ¾” deep and 1/2” in thickness. The solid brass face plate attached to the lock mechanism measures 5 5/8” high by 7/8” wide by 3/16” thick. Included in this lot is a set of crystal like 12 point glass door knobs with spindle that are in remarkable condition and are void of any cracks or chips but. A very small and almost unnoticeable“flea bite” was detected and does not detract from the use or appeal of the item. Two door escutcheons with mounting screws are also included with a strike plate that also includes mounting screws. Also included are two individual strike plates with mounting screws. One each for the“dead bolt” and one for the“catch bolt” Add this attractive and fully functional set from the past to a current collection or display the items to create or enhance a particular decorating theme or project. The items can also be used to replace defective hardware currently in use. Please note. One doorknob has silver colored hardware and a little locking lever, and the other has brass colored hardware. This is a pretty design and in good shape. The second set is in a 12 point star type of pattern. These don't have the door plates. Just the"stem" These have some paint on them- a little on the glass, but mostly on the hardware. Penn Antique Restoration. Vintage Corbin Brass Exterior Set w/Knobs. Plates, Lock. Handsome. Antique, exterior door lockset made by, P.F. Corbin Mfg. Co. of New Britain, CT during the first half of the previous century. It consists of 2 brass knobs, 2 brass escutcheons, 1 iron mortise lock with brass faceplate, 1 brass mortise cylinder with a brass anti-theft collar, 1 brass strike plate for the door jamb, 1 steel spindle with a setscrew and 1 securing pin to connect the knobs, and 12 installation screws to fasten the lock and plates to the door and jamb. All brass parts are solid. Brass, not plated steel. Except for the escutcheons which are stamped(pressed) brass, all brass parts are heavy, thick, cast brass. Originally, all parts were copper plated, however, only traces of copper remain. At the point of salvage. All parts were dirty and ... moreunevenly tarnished(see last photo) Since then, we've cleaned and polished all parts to the best of our ability. All parts have some cosmetic blemishes including nicks and scratches. Which are best conveyed by the photos. However, these just add a distressed charm to the parts and do not pose any threat to the structural integrity of the parts. All parts are strong, sturdy, and ready to serve another lifetime. Lock: The mortise lock is reversible and could accommodate a right or left swinging door. We found the cylinder mortise without a key. Without a key. We are uncertain if the cylinder works. You could take it to a local locksmith, who could rekey it for under $20. If it is not functional, you could also buy a new cylinder for the same price. The mortise lock was opened. Inspected, and we sprayed WD40 on and around all internal parts to facilitate their movement. The lock operates smoothly. Art Deco style, unit lockset made by, President, and distributed by, Vimcar Sales Co. of Los Angeles, CA sometime around the middle of the previous century. Each set consists of a solid brass unit lock with 2 knobs, 2 plates, lock, and 4 setscrews, and a brass strike plate with 2 setscrews. Set#1 has one chrome-plated knob and plate. We have 3 other sets that were found with these. That are identical to these in design, ... morebut they lack the locking functionality that these have. Those sets were found in their original boxes, and these 2 weren't, however, we wanted to show you the boxes that these locks were originally packaged in(see last photos) These are locking. The knobs that we added are just a regular knobs, which don't have the locking feature ... morethat the LaBelle knobs have. Except for Set#4, each set comes with 2 keys. Each knob-lock is keyed differently. Functionality: When in the"unlocked" position the knob spins and spins. Never turning the spindle(steel connecting rod) which in turn, doesn't engage the actual lock, which is installed in the door, and the door remains closed. When in the"locked" position, the spindle and knob turn at the same time, the lock is engaged and retracts it's latch from the door jamb, and the door opens. Since the knob-lock of Set#4 doesn't have a key. It's always in the"locked" position and acts like a regular knob. We didn't include a mortise lock with any of the sets. If you do need a lock. Vintage Lot of Clear Glass Ceramic Porcelain Door Knobs Levers Brass Key Plates
800x600 This is a lot of vintage glass. Brass and ceramic door knobs, and brass plates. There are two sets(4 knobs) of 12 faceted clear glass knobs. The brass on them is fairly well tarnished. Glass is in excellent shape…I don’t see any chips or cracks in the knobs. Another set has an 8-faceted clear glass knob on one side with a brass lever on the other. Glass is in excellent shape. Brass on both ends is slightly tarnished. Another set has a brass knob on one side. With a brass lever on the other. Both brass ends are fairly tarnished; lever is less tarnished. Screw to hold lever on is missing. Another set looks to just be a steel knob on one side. With a steel lever on the other. Some rust is present. There is also a black ceramic/porcelain knob with a shaft. No knob on the other end. The shaft rotates in the center and the screw that holds ... morethe shaft to the knob is gone. The shaft also has a metal pin of some sort stuff through it which looks to have been bent and broken off of something else? Maybe the shaft doesn’t even go with this black knob? The back of the knob also seems to be separating from the ceramic part(see photos) There are scuffs on the black ceramic and a couple chips. There is also a separate white ceramic knob. No shaft. Has some scuffs and dirt on it. And some areas of old green paint, especially on the back side. There are also 5 tarnished brass key hole cover plates. Two have locking mechanisms to keep the door knob from turning. Another(the large one) also has a key hole in it. See all photos for item condition. Any questions. Please ask before bidding.
