Vintage Arts Crafts Brass Exterior Entry Door Lockset Set Knobs Plates Lock Keys
Penn Antique Restoration. Vintage Arts& Crafts Brass Door Set w/Knobs. Plates, Lock& Key. Handsome. Vintage, exterior door lockset salvaged from Northeastern Pennsylvania. The set consists of 2 brass knobs, 2 stamped brass escutcheons, 1 steel mortise lock with a brass faceplate, 1 working key, 1 brass strike plate for the door jamb, 1 split spindle with 2 setscrews to connect the knobs, and 12 installation screws to fasten the plates to the door. All brass parts are solid brass, not plated iron. Originally, all brass parts were copper plated, however, much of the copper wore off over the years leaving the parts with a nice, distressed finish. The lock is reversible and could accommodate the swing of any door. At the point of salvage. The set was found painted, dirty, and unevenly tarnished(see last photo) Since then, we've removed ... morethe paint, and cleaned and polished the set to the best of our ability. There is a deep scrape on one side of the receiver portion of the strikeplate. This has no affect on it's function. Nor is it structurally threatening; it is just a cosmetic blemish. A 2" portion of the back of the lock body broke off, and we re-secured it using some industrial-strength epoxy. The repair is strong and should last for as long as the lock does. Even if it were to come undone, that part of the lock body doesn't affect the functionality of the lock. Once the lock is installed, the repair scar will be invisible. Otherwise, all parts just have the light nicks and scratches that you would expect to find on 70- 80 year old hardware. There are no breaks, deep scratches, gouges, or dents. The lock was opened. Inspected, and we sprayed greased on and around all internal parts to facilitate their movement. The lock operates smoothly and is ready to serve for many years to come. NO RESERVE… This auction is for for an old turn of the century Door Hardware set. The locking mechanism is with 2 keys and is working. The door handle shaft has the original set screws. Each of the back plates measure approx. 4 3/4 inch by about 1 3/8 inch. Everything is in nice condition with a nice aged patina. One handle knob has a darker patina because it was likely not in contact with the human hand as the other was. There are no wood screws for the back plates. Striker plate or lock mechanism, but they can be had easily at somewhere like Home Depot. Some cleaning or polishing might need to be done if desired. The shipping cost on this. Salvaged vintage original bronze golden bath lot of 7 door knobs handles plate &
This is a formidable group of door handles estimated ca1890. There are seven full handles and eight passes for keys. One of the handles is lockable and works perfectly. The knobs have varied but always in the same style design. The same, handles. These handles are entirely in bronze and had a golden bath that has been disappearing. They are of extremely good quality. So heavy that knob alone weighs 1/4 pound. the total weight of a handle pass the pound. The more elaborate handle has a fantastic job of casting and is the only one that has finely turned wood. This presents a GestDep brand. Other pieces have inscreipciones CESC Cec 72. We have here a Vintage Octagon Glass and Brass Drawer Pulls. The knob is in an octagon shape with a raised front that come to a small point in the middle. They measure 1 9/16" around. The backs are small. 1" with the screw at the farthest point. One knob has a a few scratches and the point in the middle is chipped. 1/16" The other knob has a few scuffs and the point in the middle is chipped 1/8" Nonetheless this is still a great Vintage set of 2 drawer pulls or cabinet knobs.
