Lot of 6 Antique Solid Oak Wood Brackets Shelf Brackets Tiger Oak Quartersawn I’m baaaaack! I had the incredible opportunity to chaperone a school related trip to France. Germany and Belgium. It focused on American conflicts in WWI and WWII and it was heaven for a history lover like me. I was able to fit three items in my bag for you– look for them this week. I’m also still listing new items from my Indiana picking trip– lots of barn find and Amish farm finds from the two fellas that I visit every year. Enjoy! I have no idea what these wonderful oak pieces came from- was it furniture. Or parts of shelving- I don't know, but I took one look and I could see them being used as shelf brackets- what's not to love about solid oak with a kittler dark patina? There's 6 in all- as you can see, 4 small ones that match in size and two large ... moreones that match in size. The small ones measure 3 15/16" by 1 15/16" and are 1 1/2" thick. They each have two screw mounting holes- one on the long side and one on the short side. The sides are finished/varnished while the tops and bottoms are not- but they have the same patina color as the rest. You can see tiger graining on some sides. They are in excellent solid and sturdy condition structurally, with rustic wear from age and use- scratches, scrapes, nicks, finish wear and dings. One has a shallow corner chip on the inside- the corner is missing but it's shallow and really hard to tell- it's on the inside part of the curve on the long end. The two lager ones measure 8" by 8 1/2" and are a smidge over 3/4" thick. These ones do not have mounting holes that go all the way through(like the smaller ones) each side has 3 small nail or screw holes(but don't go through) from whatever they were once attached to. You may need to drill holes if you plan to use them as shelf brackets. They are in excellent solid and sturdy condition. They are in good vintage condition, with several age-related splits in the wood, some paint residue along edges, and some nicks and scratches conducive with age. The age of the corbels is not known, but there are tiny antique nails near the top of each corbel. The corbels are in"as found" condition, which adds some rustic charm to each piece. Original solid brass shelf brackets manufactured by Gatco in San Francisco. I do not know the year of production but they are not new. I believe they are quite old. They have original patina and very tiny paint spots- super tiny- but I didnt want to change the original patina by removing anything. If polished they will return to a bright, shiney new looking brass finish. I thought I would leave that up to the buyer to keep original patina or polish to a shine. Art Deco Two Wall Brackets Shelf Vintage Clothing Rack RARE! 1920's
Up for auction is a great pair of antique chromed metal brackets. They are made by Keil Hardware Co. Brooklyn N.Y. The brackets are high quality.appear to be made of cast aluminum. The brackets are marked Brooklyn, Standard-Keil, New York, No. 4950. Each bracket has 2 mounting holes located 4 3/16" apart. The brackets support three round 1" diameter posts, and are 2 fastening holes on the underside of each half-moon support. The brackets measure 12 1/2" deep by 7" high from the bottom of the mounting area to the top of the bracket. The surface that mounts the bracket to the wall measures 1 1/2" wide. A collection of antique cast iron and metal shelf brackets. A lot of 7 brackets theat includes one matching pair(please see photos) The matching metal pair measures 8” x 6” three smaller ones with a plain design measure 7’ x 5” and 5” x 4” and 5 ¾” x 4 ¾” The 2 cast iron ornate brackets, the larger one has a nice star shaped pattern and measures 10 ½” x 8” the other is 9” x 7” Please note all the brackets have been painted and they have some rust on them but all would clean up and re-paint beautifully.
