Antique Victorian John Harper & Co Manufacturers Cast Iron Door Rim Lock & Key
Up for offer is an antique heavy duty original Victorian John Harper& Co cast iron door rim lock in good cosmetic condition and working order. This lock was in the family for generations. And was last used on a large family home in the 1980's. It dates around the late 1860's-70s and comes with original key. Brass manufacturers escutcheon shows a Coat of Arms emblem and reads JOHN HARPER& CO MANUFACTURERS. The key turns nicely and iron dead bolt catch extends out and retracts wonderfully. When the knob hub is turned. The latch bolt lifts upward nicely. The piece does show some typical vintage wear ie: some marks and slight rust to the backside, so it does need a light cleaning. Overall, it is a well preserved rim lock system. This right-handed large rim latch lock measures 7" x 5" x 1"deep. It does not have it's ... moreoriginal keep/keeper piece. The right side of the main body has a longer piece(tongue face) where the catches protrude that measures 1.75" deep. These sets were purchased at a local estate sale and do not appear to have ever been installed/used, but they have some minor scratches here and there from years of storage and moving around. A lot of 4 locks. First is marked MADE IN ENGLAND SECURE 2 LEVER. Very solidly built brass. Flush mount for china cabinet or other application. It is 2 1/2" x 1 1/4" Takes a skeleton barrel key. No key found. Second is marked PAT'D MAR. 24. 1868. On the other side. Marked 4 and 597. Also solidly built brass. Open mortise for a desk or drawer application. It is 2 3/8" x 1 3/4" with a 1/2" face plate. Takes a flat key not found. Both of these are in really excellent condition with old patina. The other two are basic brass plated rim locks not too old and unmarked. These are without catches for the jamb side. The first two are. These 6 jam boxes are all uniformly the same(one is missing the bent-edge striker lip) and measure 3 inches long X 5/8 inch deep X 7/8 inch wide(from the striker lip to the outside corner bend. The side with the 2 screw holes) Looks like two different colors of(milk-paint? paint on all pieces. Mounting holes appear to be punched. Salvaged Edwardian Pattern Rim Lock - Brass Door Handle - Cast Keep
Here for auction is an attractively shaped Edwardian pattern salvaged rim lock. Brass handle with a cast steel keep. The rim lock, handle and keep are in good condition and in full working order. This rim lock has a decorative shaped case with a thumb latch. And can be used on the left or right side of a door. There is a round brass disk which shows the words PALACE MOTION and in the centre are the images of two metal working calipers. I have polished up the show brass retaining it aged appearance. The original brass knobs have some knocks in them(please see photographs) But this is to be expected in items of such age. The handles are fixed to the steel spindle with two grub screws. The later cast steel keep compliments the lock. The lock measures approximately 112 mm(3 3/8" high and 120 mm(4 3/4" wide. I have an old shabby looking rim lock for your consideration. Doorknobs are porcelain and have some old paint on them. The iron box has minor surface rust. As well as the iron catch. The keyhole cover pressed/stamped brass. The doorknob rosette is cast iron with old paint. Included is a standard 1/4 inch drive rod. Could use a good cleaning and lube for optimal use. Upon inspection was determined that this lock is reversible simply by opening box with a single set screw and flipping the latch slide. One other condition issue is that the box side cover has a crack about halfway through which does not affect its operation. One could simply tack weld a couple points on the inside and not see the repair if you felt so inclined to do so. Flat springs still have some life it them or you could replace if you wish. Questions welcome other wise what ... moreyou see is what you get. Bring some real character to your garden, home or shop. VINTAGE CAST IRON RIM LOCK WITH X1 CAST IRON HANDLE/DOOR KNOB x1 vintage rim lock it will Need a clean& paint and works fine but when turning the handle the tongue does seem to be sticking problably due to its age so will need lubricating inside. i was about to attempt to do this but one of the two screws on the back has been rounded off at some point no key but these locks are so simple it would be easy to find one that fits. size 6.25"x4.25"

Antique Rim Lock& White Porcelain Door knobs. From 1880's home. Comes with rim lock and catch and 2 knobs. Lock works great. Stunning flawless set. Only very minor small scratches that are hard to see. You will have hard time finding better. Knobs are 2 1/4" across. All paint. Foreign matter, tarnish removed and glass polished. I have been selling knobs for years and only list the good ones. All knobs will be packed in bubble wrap and packing peanuts. I always pack to ship before they sell and if you pay at end of auction i will ship the next morning.

Lot of Antique Hardware 4 Locksets: Large one in the front center has a nice decoration on it 2 Black locksets- one does not have the long narrow plate on it Brass lockset in back is broken and pieces are rattling around in it. Marked Yale Cycloid Knob Action. The latest patent date on it is 1997. So it is not old like the others Assorted pieces: lockset plate and latch button Doorknobs- all of these can fit in the openings on the locksets 4 with long spindles. 2 with short. So I guess that would make 2 pairs and 2 left over. One of them is brass. The other 2 will hold a magnet.
