Foliated 24 inch Carved Pediment Fragment
This is a nice size piece for a repurpose project. It is an understated 24" x 2.75" x 3/4" It may have been the backsplash for a buffet in a previous life. There is a missing chip at the top center of the carving. This item is consigned by a furniture and design company that went out of business in the 1990's. Some pieces were removed from furniture that was in disrepair other pieces were left over stock from architectural design projects. This piece can be combined with others to save on shipping.

This is a wonderful hand carved wooden pediment crest depicting a pair of mythical bird figures. It is smoothly carved from a beautiful hardwood. The condition of this piece is very good when compared to other carvings we have sold. It is 31.5" x 6" x 1/2" This item came from a furniture and design company that went out of business in the 1990's. Some pieces were removed from furniture that was in disrepair other pieces were left over stock from architectural design projects. The bed is item#11-5654 in the#225 finish and can be found on page#359 in the 80th edition Ethan Allen Treasury of American Traditional Interiors catalog. Antique Victorian Walnut Carved Pediment Salvaged Piece NICE
This is a very attractive antique Victorian era pediment salvaged piece. It has such a rich patina! I believe it is made of walnut. However could be mahogany(sorry don't know woods very well) It is heavy and solid. It has been beautifully carved with leaves and walnuts. It measures 14" long, 5 5/8" wide and 7 1/4" deep. It looks like it was a corbel but could have a lot of uses.It is in excellent condition except for a thin crack on one side as pictured. Eastlake Spoon Carved Victorian Pediment Fretwork Tiger Oak Panel
Large. Salvaged panel with spoon carved Eastlake details, 2 medallions, pierced fretwork with clovers, 4 columns. Measures 13.5 inches tall in the front and 13.25 inches in back for one long side angles back slightly. The piece measures 45.5 inches long. Has a one inch ledge. Beautiful dark tiger oak. There are two holes on the ends(one each end) and one minor chip on the very end(see photo) On the back there are scratches like someone scratch the wood when taking something off- perhaps something that was at one time behind the open fretwork. There is also a red stain- perhaps the remnants of old glue. On one of the smaller panels, there are couple of small chips on the front(see photo) Other than this, the fretwork is in great shape. Back frame is in great shape as well. Nails hold on the back frame, no screws. An antique French moulding. Pediment, cornice or cresting. This has a good classic look. Good length and interesting design. Excellent central design of a bunch of hanging figs and leaves. Lovely classic swirling scrolls either side. There are scuffs and nibbles and the very top of centre seems to have been sliced off. Probably done to fit in it's past. There is a small slither missing from the very far left side. 2 small wooden pegs on the base- probably to be removed. 4 small and ancient holes from long gone worm in the back. The wood appears to be oak but I'm not positive. It still has that wonderful old patina to the wood. It measures approximately 23" long x about 11 1/2" high and the thickest part of the wood is about 2" at each end with the flowers) The wood is split down the middle of the wreath, there are some chips(or missing) to the leaves that stick out on the sides, and there is part of the ribbon missing above the wreath. It's an original door pediment or head casing trim and is roughly 100 years old. It has several layers of peeling paint over what appears to be the original shellac finish. I removed much of the curling. Loose paint. It could be stripped and refinished or left as is! It would also make a fine head or topper piece for a mirror or recessed niche or it could be used as intended above a door or window! The possibilities are endless! Vintage 1920s(I'm told) pediment from the center of an old Crosley radio speaker. It measures 2" diameter and is made of solid brass. It's light, weighing only a couple of ounces. With 4 holes along the perimeter, and a very arts and crafts looking style relief design, it reads in the center, Crosley Dynacone Type F. Excellent condition with an age darkened patina that looks to be original. It has some green oxidation seen more on the back than the front. Gorgeous Antique Victorian Era Cast Iron Architectural Pediment Fretwork Piece Busybusybusy treasure hunting week for you. I shopped at a closing antique store. Went to the flea market, and still have some items from the weeks ago farm estate auction- there’s lots of neat stuff that you don‘t want to miss! Oh-So one of my favorites this week- it's a gorgeous Victorian era antique cast iron architectural piece- a pediment or piece of fretwork from a home. Or perhaps a garden gate, I am not sure, as I just have the one, and cannot put the rest of the"peices" back together to see. I'm thrilled for the piece that I have, though- it is just so pretty in shape and design, and it looks just as good whether it's up like I have in photo 1 or up like I have it in my 23rd photo. It has a very old(probably multiple layers) finish ... moreof black paint, and you can see it's chippy, shabby and worn in many spots- and in most of those spots down to the iron underneath- and you can see a layer of dark surface rust where the metal is exposed. The rust spots are very old, surface only with no thick spots holes, etc. This piece is totally structurally sound and weighs a whopping 6 3/4 lbs. I'm showing you both front and back(if there is a difference, it seems the same on both sides to me as far as design) as well as both sides and top and bottom in my photos. On one short end and its sides(don't know if it's top or bottom- it's the top in most of my photos except 23) you can see where it looks like it was connected to a larger piece- see photos 11 and 16-17 for the side view of where it looks like it was separated, and photos 18-19 of that top where it looks like it was connected and separated. I cannot tell if it was cut or broken from its larger piece, as rough, not flat, but there's no jagged or sharp edges- see my photos. Photos 20& 21 show the other short end, where it's painted and I can see cast lines, so this end was not attached to anything back in the day. The piece measures

This is a substantial fragment that is thick enough to stand upright. It was salvaged from a larger piece. It has a soft wax finish that enhances the hand tool markings. It is 13.25" x 10.25" x 1.5" This item came from a furniture and design company that went out of business in the 1990's. Some pieces were removed from furniture that was in disrepair other pieces were left over stock from architectural design projects. This item can be combined with others to save on shipping.

Vintage 1 day cuckoo clock, Iibex crown pediment, edelweiss flowers, rare, works
This clock is from my collection. I have to make wall space for other clocks I prefer. This clock is a bit of a rarity, I have not seen another like it to this day. The crown pediment has a very detailed hand carving of an Iibex head or mountain goat, also, several beautifully detailed hand carved edelweiss flowers as well. The flowers are also a rarity to find in these clocks. I'm guessing this clock was originally manufactured and sold in the late 30's to very early 1940's based on the movement and carved wood bird. Speaking of the bird, It is the only flaw this clock has, the bird's lower beak is wide open. I'm sure with a little adjustment of the rods for the beak or articulated wing assembly, this can be corrected with very little effort. The gentleman I purchased this clock from assured me it was just cleaned and ... moreserviced, I have no reason to disagree with that claim as the movement is very clean and functions perfectly. The case and pediment are in near flawless condition, no cracks, old repairs or warping to speak of, It looks as if it still retains it's original leather bellow pipes and tops, it has a very mellow sounding gong along with great sounding pipes as well. The only thing I changed were the weights, it originally came with weights that in my opinion were too heavy. I had an extra pair of period correct weights slightly lighter in weight to slow it down. Anyhow, all set to hang and enjoy, It's already been very well packed for a safe trip, I just need a name and address to send it to. As you can see in the photos there is aging but nothing out of character on such pieces. These pieces that I will be listing on Ebay have been outside for 50 plus years.
