Astounding Wooden Pediment Crest Cartouche with Cherubs 18 inch
This relief carving features festoon draped cupids supporting a cartouche climaxing in a wonderful shell at the top. It is a manageable size at 18" x 10" so it may fit in a design scheme where a larger or smaller piece would not. The condition is quite good with very slight scratches on the back. This came from a furniture and design company that went out of business in the 1990's. Some pieces were removed from furniture that was in disrepair other pieces were left over stock from architectural design projects. This item can be combined with others to save on shipping.

This is an antique Victorian era walnut crest or pediment with a large center medallion. It measures aprox. 21 1/4" wide x 9 1/4" high. The two panels on either side of the medallion are a veneer. One side is blistered and the other has two chips which you can see in the pictures. It was originally a little wider and has been trimmed down due to damage on one end. This is a superb 19thc mahogany wood carved pediment with shell to centre and scolling arms either side. The attention to carved detail on this pediment is excellent. Shell centrally carved with pierced and scrolled detail to either side. Carving in relief. Measures 4.5" max height x 16" length. This carved pediment is in excellent age commensurate condition with a couple of minor repairs to one side and a bit of wood missing to very end of other side. All as per images. This is a superb mid 19thc mahogany wood pediment. Dating c.1860. The attention to carved detail on this pediment is excellent and very beautiful. The pediment is ornately and intricately carved with fine scrolling and pierced detail. To the centre the pediment has a leaf carved centrally with horned shaped carvings flanking. The arms of the pediment has scrolling and acanthus leaf detail- all carving in relief. Measures 13.75" max height x 37.25" length. This carved pediment is in excellent and lovely age commensurate condition. A small area to back at one arm where the wood is shaved. This piece appears to be quarter sawn oak veneer over a wood board. There are some holes in one end and on the edges from where it was installed on the organ. As you can see in the photos there are 2 decorative pieces added. One of them has lost a little piece which gives it more personality! This piece measures 20 1/8" x 2 7/7” at the tallest points x about 5/8" thick. The boards are finished on one side and appear to be natural on the other. The natural side has darkened with age. Some without- Here is a gorgeous and i mean gorgeous eastlake wall pocket. has really nice carvings and a gorgeous added bird& leaf on the front.i see no damage or issues what so ever aside from one tiny little chip on the bottom.very hard to notice, other than that, no holes, dings, scratches, cracks, hairlines, nothing. it is in tip top shape.has its original chains and brackets aswell but as youll notice it needs a couple new little tiny nails put in on the side where they use to go, otherwise you can just leave the chains the way they are. if you notice the carvings on this piece are very nicely done.on alot of later eastlake pieces the carvings became sort of shotty and ... morenot symetrical and just sort of poorly done and rushed.i believe this wall pocket to be a very early eastlake piece judging by the extra nice carvings and attention to symetrical detail, and the very old hardware.this one was done beautifully top to bottom. i meant to dust it before i took pictures but i forgot so any blemishes are just particles of dust, this piece really is in amazing condition. Old Chinese Carved Wood Architectural Bracket/Pediment
Here we have an Old Chinese Carved Wood Bracket or Pediment. A pediment is an element in architecture originally of a triangular shape placed above a horizontal structure. This particular pediment is decorated with a deeply carved floral and fruit design on one side and a beautiful swirl on the other side and on the rounded edge of the piece. It measures 7.5" long. 8.5" wide and just over 3" deep. We have attached the small hanging device that you see on it. There are a couple of age cracks which can be seen in the photographs but they in way take away from the integrity or beauty of the piece. The carvings are beautifully done and make this a truly remarkable piece.

Description This is a great piece that was salvaged from a Philadelphia Victorian Home. It was originally part of a piece of furniture. It is made of walnut and is unpainted. There is a wonderful carved crest along the top. There are heavy raised molding at the top and along the bottom. The body has carvings in the middle and an applied raised panel at the left side. There was a panel on the right side also but it is missing. It measures 39.5 inches wide by 23 tall. It is 4 inches deep. Overall it is in good condition. There are misc. scratches and dings as it is antique. It could use a good cleaning but should clean up nicely. The carved piece in the middle is faced with burled walnut veneer. The veneer is coming up and some is missing. Please look at the pictures carefully. The wooden frame features a lovely finished underside with decorative wood moldings. The valance is curved on the front with straight sides. Originally used for as a drape tester over a bed. Antique Shabby Barbola Roses Pediment Mantle Shelf Pelmet Bed Crown Cornice
This auction is for an Antique Vintage Rare Solid Wood Barbola Roses Pediment. The paint is original to the piece. The background is a shabby muted pale creamy yellow. The Rose swags are a soft shabby muted pink with soft mint green leaves. The swag tops are tied off by gold ribbons. The top of the board is painted a mahogany burgundy tone. Above that the wood is notched and painted in gold trim– The very top of the piece is unpainted which could easily be covered with a lace runner or repainted or simply high enough on the wall to be left as is. Or perhaps the new owner would prefer to paint the burgundy the same color as the roses to make it pop more. The paint is original to the piece. There is just a slight piece of the Barbola missing on the center rose swag. But would not really be noticeable with matching paint. If a person is artistically ... moreinclined, they could repaint to the shabby color(s) of choice. The odd thing about this piece is that to be completely a 3 sided pediment– it is missing the left side. Of course a piece could be added to this minus roses. Or the other side taken off and 2 new pieces put on both side with a paint to simply match the muted creamy yellow. The left top end has a slight slant to it, so I am thinking this actually was probably a longer mantle, pediment to begin with that was cut in two& that is why the odd side without the finish. It measures 44 1/2” across and is 10 ¼” tall and 6 ½” wide. So I think I am starting with a low starting price on this in lieu of the above factor. I’m sure someone creative out there has the ingenuity to figure the other side out. The original hardware is inside. But perhaps the new owner would want to have this refurbished. I have never hung this personally. It is a substantially heavy piece. Thus the expense in shipping because it is so dense. Being offered is a 32L x 1 1/2"W x 6"H reclaimed wood architectural carving. Could be used as a door crown or just unique wall art!
