French Antique Gilded Bronze Pediment. 19 th C: this empire style bronze pediment was once on an armoire. It has a great laurel type form. Wood Frame Scrolled iron Architectural Distressed Wall Pediment Hang 1043
The paint is chippy and the iron is rusty. They do that on purpose to give it that"weathered" look. You could use it indoor or outdoor(just spray a clear coat of accryllic on it) These work well as decorative wall hangs OR incorporated into your garden decor. This one measures 30 1/4" tall. 9 3/4" wide. Do note: There's no"hanging" attachment but as you can see by looking at it.You can simply hang it from an opening OR screw it directly through the wood to your surface. I've seen some designers take these and have a mirror cut out to frame the inside. It creates a wonderful"look" The ideas are endless. Bradley & Hubbard Greek Pediment Bookends c. 1925
The Collector’s Encyclopedia of Bookends identifies this pair of architectural bookends as having been manufactured by Bradley and Hubbard c. 1925. The maker gave this model of bookends the name“Athens. and it is clear they were inspired by the classical architecture of ancient Greece, as seen here in the simple Greek pediment supported by six Doric columns. These bookends are made of cast iron and have a brass patina that is largely intact. The bottoms are still covered in old green felt. Dimensions: The bookends stand 4-1/2” at their highest point. LARGE! 1860s Burl Walnut Furniture Pediment Eastlake Carved Window Valance Panel
This is a WHOPPER! Circa 1800s. Architectural header. Perfect as a window valance, especially over wood blinds. This is high Victorian quality at its best. It has side columns at each end with Eastlake inscribed triangles at the bottom, parallel vertical grooves above, then beveled cornice trim with arch on top. All along the bottom is bull nose trim with more Eastlake inscribed carving near each end. Further up is sawtooth trim of real burled walnut. Beveled cornice trim directly above that. Ornate spindles at each end with a large burled walnut panel in between. The burled walnut panel has a diamond medallion near the spindles and a small beveled, burled walnut medallion in the middle. Up for your consideration we have this beautiful window pediment from a WV farmhouse built in 1850. I believe it is made of pine and is quite heavy weighing about 15 pounds. It is a salvaged item and does have some imperfections such as a few nails sticking up out of it and lots of chipping paint. The paint does come off very easily when you touch it. It measures about 17" tall to the peak. 44.5" long and about 4" thick. This is a beautiful salvage piece. Near MINT condition! Authentic. 19th century, furniture header. Solid oak construction. Nice carving at each end with 3 turned spindles closer to middle. Above each spindle is a cannonball finial. Even further toward the middle are double half spindles. The center has a diamond shaped, acanthus medallion with a dramatic, beveled arch above. The arch has 4 button medallions with another finial on top. That finial sits atop more acanthus carving. It also stands freely, upright, on its own if required.Overall, a splendid Victorian design. Beautifully carved Walnut Furniture Door Pediment. This has been in my private collection for over 20 years. I call this my"French Fleur de Lis" Pediment since it has a similar design. Hangs great over doors or as an attachment to other furniture. Pediment is in great shape for it's age. Solid without repairs. Wood has a nice smooth matte sheen. I only use lemon oil to preserve the nature wood finish. Conditions: Wood damage on the back(Photos# 8#9) Small crack on top(10) Neither of which detach from it's wonderful craftsmanship. Both are hardly visible when hung since they are on the backside and top. Small holes in back to hang& small holes on each end to attach to furniture. The upper glass door of the corner cabinet is made up of individual panes of glass. A sign of high quality craftsmanship. This corner cabinet was made in England around 1960 and is in very good condition today with only minor wear here and there on the piece. Inside the glass cabinet door are two removable wooden shelves and inside the lower wood door is one removable wooden shelf. Inside the very top is a light which would have to be re-wired to work with US circuits. The top of this corner cabinet is finished off with a lovely moulded cornice and broken arched pediment. A wood finial is displayed inside the broken arch. Finally, the entire corner cabinet sits on sturdy bracket feet. A view of the sturdy back. This bow and tassel pediment is from the top of an old mirror frame. It measures approx. 6-5/8" high and 3-7/8" across the bottom. I believe it may be made of cast iron as it's fairly heavy and a magnet sticks to it. There is some chipped paint that can be seen if you enlarge the pictures but it is otherwise in good condition. One of two separately listed identical and absolutely stunning large heavy antique French pediment or furniture embellishments. Manufactured in cast bronze and would originally have been bright ormolu as you can see on the back. In excellent condition. No damage and has a heavy patina. Would look lovely restored and and used as intended or wall mounted. There are 3 discrete pre drilled holes for fitting. This would originally have been fixed to the top of a piece of ornate French furniture. Lovely leaf pattern spread over 388mm(15.25" and weighing half a kilo each. Looks like there was a small piece on the bottom of the Bulls Eye that has been glued back in place. Bulls Eye also has a crack coming off the small nick on right side. Please refer to the pictures. I took close ups of the flaws. They are minor and are barely noticeable. The design is really nice with a bulls eye center and scalloped edge on top.
