It is also completely freestanding. This beauty has all the bells and whistles. It has 5 beveled recessed panels total. Unique carving to the bevelling near the corners. Outside 2 have vertical grooves that match the middle one. Parallel grooves also along the bottom and top trim. 2 other recessed panels have classic Eastlake/easthetic carving. Lovely Antique Late 1800s Hand Carved Wood Pediment Turned Wall Decor So. I went to the auction of a lifetime this past weekend. A storage barn of an antiques dealer that passed about 10 years ago. She specialized in early primitives and American folk art and boy-oh-boy you do not want to miss this week. I took photos of the items that I bought for one full day, and still am not finished– but decided to go ahead and list what I have– enjoy! This one is sooooo pretty. And if you don't want it for wall decor. It's as simple as removing the hanger that the dealer put on the back! It's an antique pediment with lovely hand carved detail. I don't know if it started life as an architectural piece, or a furniture piece, but it will be yours to decide. It measures 19 5/8" long top to bottom and is 8 1/4" at its widest- the ... morecenter. It is 1 7/8" deep there at the center, but measuring from the very back of the piece, to the farthest sticking out part of the piece(the top, which angles out) it measures 4" deep there. It weighs 1 3/4 lbs and is in excellent solid and sturdy condition structurally. The patina is dark and yummy! You can see rustic wear to the wood and finish all over- very minor- scratches, scrapes,teenie holes, nicks, dings, light spots, dark spots and finish wear down to the wood(see photos 4&7 where you can see lighter, small finish wear spots) You can see two nails at the top. And some holes at the back from when it was mounted originally. The back gives some indiaction of its old life too, as you can see that it's lighter at the bottom than at the top. The white spot at the back is an old dealer tag, it will come off. It's dustydustydusty and needs a good cleaning, I have not cleaned or messed with the as found patina in any way. Primitive Antique Hand Carved Wood Folk Art Pediment Wall Plaque Maple Leaves Alrighty– I am slowly working my way to the last of the antique dealer auction items. So I did some power shopping yesterday to replenish the shelves… and did I get lucky! I have some fabulous early primitives to list this week, antique and vintage folk art, early tools, beautiful Victorian items– there’s something for everyone– you won’t be disappointed! This oldee is stunning. It's a hand carved wood piece. With a pretty scalloped carved border around the circle of a spring of maple leaves, branches and berries. I don't know if it was made as a wall plaque, or part of a pediment- it almost reminds me of a top to something- like a crock top? I can see three shallow holes at the back top that are at the back only(they do not go all the way through- see photo ... more14) so I'm assuming someone hung it at one point in time and these were the holes. At the back, there's also part of the dealer tag- it will come off. It measures 11 3/4" diameter and is about 1/2" to 3/4" at its thickest. It weighs 1 1/4 lb. Excellent solid and sturdy structural condition. There's rustic wear to the wood and finish- scratches, scrapes, nicks, dings, and some very dark to the point of black spots- I wouldn't change a thing- this is a striking old piece. This is a superb mid 19thc mahogany wood pediment. Dating c.1860. The attention to carved detail on this pediment is excellent and very beautiful. The pediment is ornately and intricately carved with fine scrolling and pierced detail. To the centre the pediment has a leaf carved centrally with horned shaped carvings flanking. The arms of the pediment has scrolling and acanthus leaf detail- all carving in relief. Measures 13.75" max height x 37.25" length. They are made of solid wood and have openwork in the center with applied leaves on the sides. Each lovely crest measures approximately 14 1/2" across x 9 1/4" high(not including the dowels on the bottom) x 1 3/16" thick. The wood appears to have the original patina with some scratches to the surface finish. One of them(see photo) is missing the rosette in the middle and the wood is separating at the top and needs to be glued down(see photo) There must have been something else on the very top, because there is a dowel hole on the top of each one(see photo) Everything else looks great on these wonderful old pediments! This beautiful French architectural woodenware is the perfect size to hang over a door to embellish an entrance way. Also pretty to use similar to a bed crown by handing above the bed and drape sheers or curtains from behind. Antique Cast Iron Home Comfort Stove Plaque Pediment From Stove Sickle& Wheat Well. I am back from a monster shopping trip to the World’s Longest Yard Sale– we shop Ohio every year and then stop at some of my favorite spots in Indiana to buy from. Spent 2 whole days taking photos and still not done– I have a LOT and I’ll be listing for weeks. There’s something for everyone- primitive antiques, ephemera, military, railroad, industrial, farm finds– you name it, I have it and it’s all unique– you’ll want to keep checking, as I will list every day. Enjoy! Here is a beautiful cast iron pediment/plaque that was removed from an original antique Home Comfort stove. This one is quality. It reads"Home Comfort" and has a sickle with wheat in the center. And much of its original silver finish is still present, with just enough worn to show ... morea little surface rust and give it some primitive charm. It measures 9 1/2" wide and 6 1/2" tall. The screw holes from its original mounting measure 8 7/8" center of hole to center of hole. It still has two screws inside the holes that have a fancy cast flower design on the front, I'm guessing that they are original. The both have what looks to be like a little solder on their backside(at the back of the plate on the very end of the screws) and that holds them in the holes, I'm thinking you would be able to chip that off to remove them if you wanted to- I have not tried, though. This is a heavy cast iron piece- weighing only a teeeenie fraction of what the stove weighed, but still hefty at 3 1/2 lbs. Excellent overall condition- totally solid, sturdy and strong. Please see my photos for the finish wear, and for the surface rust, I think it's minor, but it is all over in small light spots, and it's surface only. The back is blackblack and you can see some surface rust there too. It is dirty, especially the back, and really needs a good bath- I have not cleaned or messed with the as found patina in any way. Architectural Salvage Eastlake Pediment Carved /Appliqued Oak Vintage Decorative
This is an Eastlake-style pediment and my best guess is that it's off a dresser or a mirror. It is carved and the arch is an applique. The oak has no stain or varnish left on it and is quite lovely in that it's survived to find a new use as a decorative wall hanging. It is 22" long. 7" high and a little more than an inch thick.

OLD Primitive Antique 1 lb HEAVY Metal Lion Drawer Pull Door Knocker Pediment Well. Enjoy! I have to tell you- this is definitely one of the largest and heaviest lion pulls that I have ever sold- and this one is very very old. I truly do not know what it was originally attached to- it would have had to have been a big piece. It might have been a door knocker. But I am not totally ... moresure, see what you think. I really don't care, because he is gorgeous! It is a heavy piece- a smidge over l lb. first, I thought it must be cast iron, but a magnet does not stick to it. Then I thought maybe brass- I think I see peeks of brass- like where the loop is inside of his mouth- but then I scratched the backside a little, and I see a silver color, so I am unsure. It doesn't have the look or weight of spelter, I think, much heavier, but I'm really not sure. As you can see from my photos, it has a very old and worn forest green painted finish- I think I might see peeks of a rust colored finish too, it's hard to tell for sure. There are lots of places where the finish is worn down to the metal- all over, but larger on the cheeks at the back of the face, and on the round knocker in his mouth. As you can see, the patina of the metal is very very dark. It measures 3 1/4" wide at the face, 3 1/2" wide at the round ring, and 5 1/2" tall top of head to bottom of ring. From the back of the piece to the farthest sticking out part in the front- his nose, it is 1 3/4" deep. There is a 1 1/2" iron spike or nail that protrudes from the backside.

This is a quite superb gothic wooden oak pediment with the relief carvings of the head of the male. Leaves, scrolling& other intricate carvings of which: During our research we have been informed it certainly dates from the mid 19th century. Dates about c1860. Of a Black Forest origin. Superb pediment with the intricate carvings with centrally: The head of the bearded male wearing a helmet. Other intricate relief carvings to either side of leaves. Scrolling and other. The pediment has an overall size of about 32.5 x 9inches. It has an overall max depth of about 1.5inches. Condition: Considering the age. The overall condition is excellent and is not subject to: any major blemishes. Made in two sections of joined oak before relief carving. All as per pictures. Besides being a very collectable. Here for your consideration is a nice old pediment piece. This has a slight curved bowed shape. So. I am not sure if it was off a chair or the top of a cabinet. It is a nice rich reddish brown wood with carved gold gilt raised scrolling design. It measures 14.5" wide and from the center to the top middle part it is 6" It has some worn wood as pictured, but a nice solid little piece.
