Outstanding Fatigued Weeping Angel Sculptural Pediment Wood 27 inch
This fantastic sculpture is 27x12x4" and quite heavy. The angel is highly animated with its curved wings draped over its body suggesting great fatigue or despair. Look closely to see a winged bird perched on the angel's staff. This sculpture's proportions are perfect. I especially like the way light and shadow play across the deep relief carving. It really is quite stunning. The piece easily stands upright for display. This item came from a furniture and design company that went out of business in the 1990's. Some pieces were removed from furniture that was in disrepair other pieces were left over stock from architectural design projects.

This was the crown molding and a small shelf along the top. The breast has applied carvings in the middle and at the side. It measures 99 inches wide by 13 inches tall. It is 3.25 inches thick. Overall. It is in good condition. There are misc. scratches and dings as it is antique. It could use a good cleaning. There are notches along the bottom from the legs of the armoire. The list of bells and whistles include.c ompletely freestanding beveled base.4 giant turned urn finials across the top.2 of them on beveled platforms.vertical column at each end with beveled front edges.5 urn spindle rails.textured. Recessed panel stretches below& between the 2 inside finials.Victorian acanthus top scroll carving to left and right of head.cornice molding arch in the middle top.further in, is a round raised trim ring around the face. then an elaborate medieval court jester/joker head. The head is in perfect condition with a classic felt 3 pointed hat and jingle bells at each end. You can even see some clothing with folded material around his collar. Antique FRENCH Gilded ORNAMENT ROSE GARLAND for FRAME, MIRROR, CANOPY, PEDIMENT
G orgeous French bronze ornment in the shape of a glorious rose garland dripping in the center. The cabbage roses are highly raised and deliciously timeworn. The colour has muted to a sumptuous old gold and the shape is a bit twisted to fit a slightly rounded base or piece of furniture. Anyway. It is not totally"flat" Dimensions: 17" between the two ends of the garland. It drips aound 7" down at the center, the rose and daisy swag is about 2" W One end has a ring. Up for sale is a fantastic TOP PEDIMENT to a antique black forest cuckoo clock. The topper is in great shape and would be a great addition. The deer head is one of the best I have ever seen. The antlers and head are 9 inches tall and have survived in immaculate condition all these years. The span from ear to ear on the deer head is 6 inches. The topper is 20 inches wide. The deer also has glass eyes. And surrounding the stag head are tightly carved oak leaves. with 2 muskets. and I believe this piece is carved out of walnut. Superb 19thc mahogany wood carved pediment. Excellent attention to detail on this pediment with a large and intricately carved Art Nouveau ribbon and a rose to the top. A large oval raised carving with decorative beading around is carved to the centre of the pediment with carved leaf arms to either side. This is a very pretty carved pediment of unusual design. It is made out of solid walnut and finished to a dark warm color. It is in classic hunting style with a highly carved deer head in the middle. It is in good antique condition-straight and solid. There are a couple of small holes where it was once hung. Also. An antler(on the right side) is broken at the tips(see photos) The antlers are separate pieces mounted in peg holes and a new one could be made. The front had once been painted a blush ivory with gold accents. Measures a large 37.75" wide x 18" tall. It does have a metal piece on the back for easy hanging. Stunning piece, timeworn with chippy paint, mostly around the edges. It is missing the bottom left swirly piece, and there are some crack lines through it from age, but nothing broken off except the bottom left swirl. OMG. This is a gorgeous antique pediment/header. All original. This antique pediment dates from the late 1800's and is a delicious French treasure! This beautiful French pediment features carved wood roses and florals and swags of ribbon garland! This pediment would have originally embellished an armoire. Bed, large mirror or a decadent piece of furniture! I have owned this incredible pediment for several years now and had it hanging over an oval archway in my home. I am now opening that wall for remodeling purposes. And unfortunately must part with this beauty as I just do not have another place to hang such a large piece. Listing this is breaking my heart as this piece is simply exquisite. Definitely beautiful above a door or doorway. A window or could be used behind a bed as a headboard!
