2 Sets Vintage Highly Decorated Porcelain Door Knobs with Ornate Brass Rosettes
Up for auction are 2 sets of highly decorated full size porcelain door knobs. Each set has a square threaded center shaft that would slide into a standard lock set. The door knobs themselves are attached to a threaded brass fitting that screws onto the square threaded center shaft which also has an allen screw pin to hold it tightly to the shaft. There is also 4 brass ornate rosettes(doorknob mounting back plates) that would hold the knobs securely in place to the door. The door knobs are off white or beige in color and they have a hand painted design in a reddish color. The front of the door knob also has a decorative brass pin and scalloped washer in the middle. The condition of both sets are very good. All the brass has an antique patina color. I see no area that has paint or varnish stained on it. They look very clean. Beautiful set of cast-bronze door knobs. Working mortise lock and key, escutcheon and collar in the German Renaissance"Mantua" pattern manufactured by the Reading Hardware Co. In 1905, very good condition. Door knobs have an ornate four-fold leaf design and measure 2 1/4" in diameter by 2" deep; lockset measures 4 1/4" high by 3 3/8" deep by 9/16" wide-keyhole is 2 1/2" from case front to middle of keyhole; lockset faceplate measures 6 1/4" high by 1" wide; escutcheon measures 8 1/2" high by 2 1/4" wide by 1" deep; collar measures 2" in diameter. Have quantity of these doorknobs which were salvaged from the Biltmore Hotel in New York City. Questions Are welcome.

Pressed glass with large screw thread- older Pine Chest of drawers etc has screw in type knobs 9 larger knobs 3.8cm across face and 5.5cm deep. Thread is 1.8cm deep and 1.6cm across end approx. 4 of knobs have chipped end threads- I would thing still enough to fit and no more nails in place( one is a bit short but that is 9th so enough for 4 Drawers) One has a little chipping(small fleabites) for the most part the actual knobs are fine- 2 smaller knobs 3.5cm across and 4cm deep- one as chipping so may be no good. Here's yet another great set of door hardware from my Collection! Today's feature is something special and extraordinary. Victorian inspired with French/Italian flair that is captivating and ornate. Consisting of two knobs and 2 matching plates. Beautiful oval-shaped knobs with raised relief encircled by etched beading, shaped collar and round base. Back plates with magnificent detail work cast into the filigree bodies, pic#4 shows all the detail. Screw-on spindle. A very small Maker's Mark is stamped on the rear of the plates, which I cannot make out. A very fancy door set that is extremely pretty.

You are bidding on a Lot of 23 Antique Victorian Style White and Black Porcelain Brass and Metal Door Knobs Plus Extras. 2 Victorian hinges stamped 4x4 on back. In very good condition. 5 skeleton key door plates of which 2 appear to be copper. 3 are brass. 8 mortise rim door skeleton key locks. 2 have brass door face and 2 are for parts only. 4 have lever on side for extra security. 3 door knob shaft covers of which 1 is broken. 9 square connecting rods. Some are bent and need to be straightened. 1 skeleton key plate. Some original screws are included. There are no skeleton keys with this lot. Estate sale find. I have a lot of 50 pieces. 21 black backplates,19 door knobs, 10 shafts for the knobs in various screws for the knobs and backplates. These are very old in and beautiful,4 of the 21 back plates are made of solid brass and 1 of the knobs are also solid brass and four more are 2 different types of steel knobs and there other 14 are the same design, these are very beautiful and need to be cleaned. I think a few or all may be russwin but I don't know for sure I'm not an expert. But As always shipping is always free and fast.
