There is wear and surface rust on the finish of the plates is being sold as is. Just as a note it is fully functioning. The lock reads Corbin and it has the number Q18. ★ 14 ANTIQUE BRASS & GLASS DOOR KNOBS SUPER RARE ART DECO ROUND SHAPE VTG LOT ★
Old Vintage Lot of 7 Glass Doorknob sets. This set includes 14 glass handles. 8 round handle trim pieces, and 7 Dexter insides. Most of the auctions listed do not include the trim pieces or backplates. I even have the old brass screws. two screws are new and not brass. Each of the glass handles as well as the round face plates measures approximately 2" in diameter. The inside parts are 4-1/4" long while engaged. All of the glass is in very good condition with no cracks or chips. I only noticed one scuff. They do need cleaning. Please note paint marks on the glass as well as the metal pieces. It can be removed I checked. I would consider them excellent condition. Also some slight tarnish to the Dexter parts. One knob is the star pattern and not the round style. It also appears newer. The matching back plate with it is also newer ... moreand a different style. I would suggest putting mismatched knob on the inside of a closet door or a basement door. My house has all the star ones but I actually prefer the look of the round ones. The are mirrored backed. Im sure they could be polished to new looking condition These locks should last you a lifetime. They also lock from the inside. These should also work in a mortise style lock. Vintage Antique Solid Brass Door Backplates / Escutcheons w/ Knobs & Spindle
Up for sale a Vintage pair of Ornate. Solid Brass, Backplates/ Escutcheons with 2 Knobs and Spindle. The plates oar oval shaped with Ornet Beading on the edges. One has double key holes and one has a single key hole. The double measurers 10 3/8" long by 3 1/16" at the widest. The single measurers 9 5/8" long by 2 7/8" at the widest. Each are solid brass with a nice beaded trim. They have some paint and staining and are in need of a cleaning. The knobs measure app. 2" in diameter. They appear to have a metal front with a brass back as it is not attracted to a magnet. They have some small dings and dents and one is in need of a set screw. Come to you as found.

The plates and the shanks of the knobs are solid forged brass with 12% lead for added clarity. The sets are made in India. These sets are reproduction of the original Y&T sets but they are still made with high quality. Heavy, thick, cast, brass. If you search for similar hardware on the internet. Penn Antique Restoration. Antique Brass Door Set Knobs Plates Lock& Strikeplate. Distressed. Heavy-duty, commercial grade hardware made by"Russwin" of New Britain, CT around the 1890's. It consists of 2 brass knobs, 2 brass escutcheons, 1 brass mortise cylinder with a brass anti-theft collar, 1 steel mortise lock with brass faceplate, 1 brass strike plate for the door jamb, and 1 split spindle with a setscrew and a securing pin. All brass parts are solid, heavy, thick, cast brass, not stamped brass or plated iron. Since this set was used for commercial installation. It was designed to be strong and secure. The exterior knob is permanently affixed to the spindle with a securing pin. Once the knob is mounted on the escutcheon, the tall collar of the plate bars access to the pin. The only way you could access the pin is by ... moreloosening the screw and removing the knob on the other side of the door. The lock is not reversible. And it could only accommodate a door that swings into a home, towards the left. If your door swings in the other direction, you could still install this set, but you would have to install it upside down, with the knobs on top, and cylinder mortise on the bottom. The mortise lock is locked by pushing the bottom button on the faceplate. And unlocked by either pushing the top button or using a key. Once locked, the door could only be opened by turning the knob on the interior side of the door, or by using the key on the exterior side of the door. This knob set has paint on it but it comes off easily. I have cleaned a portion of one side to show that they will clean up to be a beautiful knob set. Penn Antique Restoration. Antique RHCo Jack& Jill Bathroom Door Setw/Knobs. Plates, Lock. Rare. Antique, Jack& Jill" bathroom door lockset made by"Reading Hardware Co. of Reading. PA around the turn of the previous century. The set consists of 2 iron knobs, 2 iron escutcheons, 1 iron mortise lock cast brass faceplate, 1 iron strike plate for the jamb, and 1 spindle with 2 setscrews. All parts are solid, heavy, thick, cast iron, not stamped/pressed/wrought iron. Originally. The knobs and plates were brass plated, however, much of the brass wore off over the years, leaving the parts with a nice, distressed look! FYI: A Jack and Jill bathroom is a shared bathroom that adjoins two separate bedrooms. The knobs and escutcheons have a simple. Straightforward, Craftsman style design. At the point of salvage, some parts were painted, ... moreand the rest were dirty and rusty(see last photo) Since then, we've removed the paint, and cleaned and polished the parts to the best of our ability. All parts have light scratches and tiny nicks. Which are typical for hardware this old. However, there are no breaks, cracks, chips, dents, or gouges. We opened and inspected the lock to ensure that it operates smoothly. We sprayed WD40 on and around all parts to facilitate their movement. The set was made by“P.F. Corbin Mfg. Co. of New Britain, CT around the turn of the century. It consists of 2 glass knobs with brass shanks, 2 brass escutcheons, 1 mortise lock with brass faceplate, 1 working key, 1 brass strike plate for the door jamb, and 1 spindle with 2 set screws. The escutcheons are made of solid, heavy, thick, cast brass. The majority of glass knobs are faceted; these have a rare. Round, concentric design. Originally, they were colorless, but years of exposure to the sun’s UV rays caused a chemical reaction with the magnesium in the glass to produce a lovely amethyst color-what a great accent! This happens naturally, over time, to all glass knobs and is not a serious concern. We mentioned it so that you're not surprised and worried when you receive your hardware. Architectural salvage as found as is.Pair of Dexter door latch sets I believe intended for passage doors but also in lot a matching dead bolt style thumb and keyed set.Also included in lot a Dexter deadbolt style lock plate no guts.Only plate.Very solid and well constructed. They are nickel plated and"etched"They also have varying degrees of black antiquing factory paint on areas.Both door knob sets are made for exterior doors or bath?The latch sets knobs are not keyed but the deadbolts are.I have no key.Sorry. Both function good as I turn knob and latch(solid brass) actuates.The set has Dexter marked on plate in two places.The latch mechanism inside tubular chamber has marking on end dates this set as marked-National Brass Co. pat Dec.6.21 Nov.28,28 Gd.Rapids Michigan.Last ... morepatent date 1928 close to same age as house built in late 20's I believe. You get 13 knobs in all. 10 white. 2 black and one a marbleized brown color. Most are about a 2" diameter, one is a 1 3/4" diameter, the smallest one is a 1 1/4" diameter. Some of the white ones have crazing, one black knob has a tight hairline, the brown one has a pin head size nick in the back of the knob, most have rust stains easily removed by soaking in bleach.
