Face plate of box is a heavy cast brass manufacture and the strike plate is a heavy brass stamped design. Doorknob is iron with a brass collar. Thumb handle and theaded 1/4 inch standard drive is iron. The rosette is a pressed steel. Lock box mortise cut is 3 3/8" deep x 3 1/4" high x 11/16" wide. The Brass face plate is 1" x 5 3/8" x 3/16" wide. The offset including the thickness of the brass face plate is 2 9/16" To inside edge of face plate is 2 3/8" Really a nice early quality lock for your authentic shop home or garden repair or renovation. In 1905, very good condition. Door knobs have an ornate four-fold leaf design and measure 2 1/4" in diameter by 2" deep; lockset measures 4 1/4" high by 3 3/8" deep by 9/16" wide-keyhole is 2 1/2" from case front to middle of keyhole; lockset faceplate measures 6 1/4" high by 1" wide; escutcheon measures 8 1/2" high by 2 1/4" wide by 1" deep; collar measures 2" in diameter. A nice Victorian Eastlake Door Knob Backplate with matching mortise lock. Constucted of heavy brass and iron/steel. Fashioned in a quality of workmanship that is not easily found today. All is clean with much detail. Lock plate is slightly bent most likely could be repaired with a little heat from a torch and some tweaking with a pair of large pliers. No key for the lock. Dimensions are for the backplate.5 5/16" long x 1 7/16" wide x 3/32" thick the hole for the door knob spindle to pass through is 13/32" Mortise lock.3 1/8" wide( that's from the outer edge of brass plate to outer edge of lock. Duel Omnilock with Schlage L Series Mortise Lock and Schlage Mount
The Omnilock is used and is mounted to an original Schlage mount with a Schlage L Series lock. There is also a Medeco Lock for the inside keypad. Unknown if it is working but it does light up. There is some corrosion at the top of the piece(see pics) There are 8 tiny circular dips in the metal on each side of each key(small. Medium and large circles) a unique style! Therefore, the keys do NOT need to be cut. they already fit into the lock. There are two buttons to press; they feel very smooth. Of excellent quality. I think they work by allowing you to set the lock automatically every time you shut the door(without turning a key in the lock) Swiss-made from brass. 6830 is the lock number.
