Wisconsin. This brochure is a four page pamphlet format measuirng about 8.5" x 11" per page. The front cover reads in part: Services Offered- Will work all day. Every day in yard or garden, on farm or estate; never get tired or refuse to work; have good background; upkeep, 30 cents a day. Call your BOLENS HUSKI dealer and ask for YARD-BOY The text on the brochure features the" Yard-Boy" name but the front cover is also overprinted with a notice that the Bolens Huski tractor name has been changed from Yard-Boy to Handi-Ho while the model designation remains 10A. The Details: The embroidery has been worked to a very high standard in a lovely array of colours. The flowers are perfect purple pansies in two groups of three- each flower with a characteristic little yellow eye in the centre and emerald green foliage; two groups of tall stems of pink bell flowers or campanula with soft avocado green foliage; three stems of beautiful blue towering delphiniums with bright green foliage and a border of tiny pink and white daisies with both bright green and soft avocado green foliage. The stitch work is on the purple pansies and the pink campanula is a very even smooth silky textured satin stitch. Worth noting is the detailed on each of the campanula flowers which have been finished with intricate blanket stitch. grandmothers flower garden quilt 100+ hand sewn quilt blocks + fabric to finish.
this quilt was started in the 1950's. I believe it is for a double quilt bed or possibly a twin. There are certainly enough blocks and pre-cut hexagons to make a couple of crib quilts. There are about 100 completed blocks 10 of which have been sewn together. There are several that need the white border. There are stacks of precut fabrics all from the same era which can be used to complete the quilt. The original hand made pattern shows a quilt using 143 blocks. This would be 12 blocks wide and 12 full blocks long. Half blocks are needed for the top and bottom and they have not been included in the 143 block count. An early 1900's extract bottle with original label and box. It is Temple Garden Imitation Strawberry Flavor. Made in Boston with branches in New York and Chicago. No defects in the bottle and label is very good. Bottle is dirty inside and cork is in place. Box has a stain on one side and a small stain on other side bottom. And top cover is gone. Bottle is 4-7/8 inches tall and 1-1/2 inches wide. Mold line/seam goes to bottom of neck, so it is not a machine made bottle. Probably circa 1900 or so.
