Six of these hooks are the same and the hook that has old paint on it is just a bit smaller. Six of these hooks are in very good condition with no cracks. Breaks, or worn areas in the metal and there are no repairs, but one of the larger black hooks has a flaw in the cast iron(sort of a dent) near the end of the hook which you can see in the pictures. The bigger hooks were all painted black at some point so they do show signs of natural wear and use with most of the paint missing. The bigger hooks have a reach of 2” long. And the mounting base is 1” x 3/4” with a little pointed stability spike on the back side. The hole in each hook will accommodate a 3/16” screw or nail. The smaller painted hook has a reach of 1 3/4” long– otherwise the measurements are the same. Please feel free to ask any questions that you might have– I am always happy to answer! When we moved this large quartersawn oak fireplace mantel, the packing material or newspaper to cushion ... morethe mirror in place is dated 1901. WE'VE HAD MANY MANTELS OVER THE YEARS. PROBABLY 2000 OR SO OF THEM. However, I have never owned nor seen this particular model, with the northwind heads. The top is hooded, as you can see in the photos above. The shelf under the mirror, bows outward for style. The northwind head, just below this shelf, WOW, is blowing up a storm. This would be the fancy applied carving. This is 83 1/4" tall, right at 5' wide. The very top shelf, where one can sit items of choice, is 57" wide by 9 1/4" front to back. The mirror is beveled, and is original, and measures, 35 1/2" wide and 17 1/2" tall. However, there is just a very small tad of discoloration, and the one spot at the top which is the size of approx. a quarter. This mirror just sits there and says, hi, sorry but I'm old. The bowed out shelf, under the mirror, is 45 1/2" wide, and 8 7/8" at center, front to back. The fireplace opening, is 41 1/2" wide x 39" tall. You can take 3 pieces of trim out and, it becomes 43 1/4' wide x 39 3/4" tall. The round columns are 3 1/2" across x 45 1/4"

Very nice solid oak fireplace mantle with mirror. Early 1900s design. Original oak. 83" in height overall. 60" width includes 3" each side for frame. There are some nail holes in the frame from previous installation. The mantel board is 55 1/2" wide. The opening for the fireplace is 36" height x 35 1/2" wide. The bevelled glass mirror is 35 1/2" wide x 17 3/8" in height. The mantel is in very good condition with normal patina. It is nailed to a 2"x4" frame to make it easier and safer to transport. A Hand Hewn Oak Log( may be Ash or Hickory I can not tell for sure) Super Large size with a length perfect for your fireplace mantel. measures 59 1/2 inches long 18 inches deep( try to find another like that) and 7 1/2 inches thick. was covered with some old whitewash and plaster residue. I power washed the beam to remove that old stuff. has live edges. one side has some of the old lath nails. NOW this log is large enough that you could make 4 mantles by quartering. cut in half either direction to make 2 super mantles. Please ask questions. There are misc. scratches and dings as it is antique. It could use a good cleaning. The two tabs that hinge the sides to the back are broken. The projecting shelf features beveled edges and perches above a raised design of diamond detailing that runs across the face of the mantel. Purchased at the"Wonderful Washington University Antique Show" many years ago. I was told it came from an estate in New Orleans. Beautifully hand carved- 4 Lions Head. Two on each side of the side pedestals. In the center is a bountiful fruit basket and on both sides are fish or serpentines. I have never seen anything like it, simply impressive and handsome. I believe at one time it had been painted and stripped before I purchased it. Needs some attention as some of the joints are loose. Height 40 in. Width 63 in. Depth 11 in. Antique turn-of-the-century Victorian walnut fireplace mantel
Offered for sale is this ornate wooden mantelpiece c.1890. The intricate carving and turning will make this an impressive addition to your building project or restoration! Note the beveled mirror in the overmantel. The conditio n of the wood in this mantel is excellent– the finish will need some refurbishment as there are what look like runs in the varnish and paint drips on the top shelf(only) and the person who painted the last room that it was in wasn’t too careful about cutting in around it. The patina is beautiful. B ut if you like a shabby chic look. Or would enjoy spending a little time working on the finish, the dings on this 125 year old mantle are absolutely minimal. I have tried with the pictures that are included to show whatever imperfections there are. But overall the condition, design, proportions and quality of the craftsmanship ... moreof this piece are outstanding! John Bryan Fineart One Of A Kind Hand-carved White Pine Fireplace Mantel
This mantelpiece was created in 1990 from old growth White pine and features hand-carved Atlantic salmon swirling over a colorful redd. Trout lilies and classic featherwing salmon flies. The carvings are hand painted with Grumbacher's artist oil paints. The mantel was originally painted white and used in art shows and exhibitions. The trends at the time were considerably focused on natural woods(cherry and walnut primarily) and for that reason it never found a home, but spawned a number of commissioned pieces in natural woods. It is one of a pair of fly-fishing mantels Bryan created on speculation to use as examples at art shows to demonstrate the possibilities for commissioned pieces. The mantel has been exhibited periodically for various events. But has spent most of the past 25 years stored in a crate in the artist's studio. Bryan ... morestripped the white paint off the mantel recently to create the effect of an old mantel, once painted and now stripped down to the beautiful pumpkin pine. The painted centerpiece, trout lilies and salmon flies were left painted. The result is a wonderfully folky mantelpiece with classic proportions looking for a home after all these years. It has never been installed in a home and thus is offered as'new' It represents a'break out' moment for the artist as one of his unique blends of sporting art and classic architecture. Fantastic Victorian Cherry Fireplace Mantel
Attention rehabbers. Salvage and antique collectors, if you have been looking for a spectacular Victorian fireplace mantel to finish off a Victorian parlor, dining room or bedroom, this is the piece for you. This mantel is very large and impressive and will make a statement in any room that it is placed. It stands 90" tall and 59" wide at the widest point. The fireplace opening measures 35 1/2" wide and 36 1/4" tall. Unfortunately, the beveled mirror was broken long ago but replacements are not cost prohibitive. A trend is developing of replacing the mirrors with a 2 way mirror and placing the television behind the mirror. When the TV is off, it just looks like a mirror. You get to keep your room looking period but still have your television in the room. The mantel is made of cherry, most mantels of this era are oak and ... moreoccasionally walnut. It is much harder to find one in cherry and in such fine condition. The carvings are exceptional, be sure to view all of the photos. The original makers label is on the back but very difficult to read due to the deterioration of the paper. This mantel came out of a fantastic Victorian mansion in St Louis which has fallen on hard times. Antique Victorian Fireplace Surround Mantel Ornate Painted White Shabby Chic
Up for Auction. NO RESERVE is a beautiful example of victorian design, all the flourishes typical of the period are found in this fireplace surround/mantel. Circa 1920. There is a remnant of the makers tag still attached(See Photo) I can't make everything out, but it looks like the maker is Paramount. It was painted white some years ago, thus there are chips and cracks, but nothing major. It's just a great architectural piece for the home. Ask all questions prior to bidding. Here is an astounding pair of Cherubs that are excellent for Christmas or for that matter.any time you desire to display them. They are solid brass and weigh about 4 or 5 pounds each. I can't be sure of the exact weight because I only have my bathroom scale to weigh them on and it varies quite a bit. Still. I would definitely say they are closer to 10 pounds for the pair. We have had them for decades and no idea where they were made as no markings are apparent to these old eyes. Yet.solid brass is seldom used this day and age. Vintage FAUX Fireplace Mantel w/ Electric Logs Christmas Stockings
Up for auction is a vintage faux fireplace mantel with electric logs. This would be great for as a decorative element in any room or even as a stage prop. I just don't have the room for it anymore. The mantel is quite old. It has a faux painted marble design and a cherry wood finish mantel. It comes with electric logs that I bought specfically to go with the mantel. I did not acquire them together. The logs light up to simimulate a fire with a light bulb and there is a spinning element which is supposed to sound like a crackling fire. The mantel could use a cleaning and there is some paint loss to the faux painted marble surround/hearth. I am selling this as-is. It is old and as us show signs of wear from age and use. The mantel is substantial and well-made. It is not tippy and has a good structure to it.
