Carved BIRD! Library Panel Eastlake Victorian Cabinet Door Tiger Oak Wall Plaque
Original. Victorian antique. 100+ year old, European cupboard door. Mostly quarter sawn oak construction with nice patina. In 2 places it has raised, beveled trim framing. Inside is elaborate, carving everywhere. Right top corner has leaves/stems/berries. Top left corner has cattails. In the middle is a large bird of some kind, standing on ground foliage with a round object in its beak. Very 3 dimensional, in person. Spectacular, ornate escutcheon intact. This is a large antique piece measuring 25 5/8 inches tall and 22 5/8 inches wide. I also have a second door from same cabinet also listed. Some room in either direction to cut down into custom size. Very nice brackets. 1-1/4 wide not including raised areas. 22-18 tall and 8 deep at bigger end 4-1/2 at smaller but it grows to about 5-3/4 if you include the radius that juts out at small end. Great for your next project. Finish isn't perfect but most is present and with a little work these will come up nicely without having to loose its original color. Vintage Eastlake Victorian Adjustable Arm Brass Wall Shaving Mirror Kato mfg
Up for bid is a Kato Mfg. shaving mirror that used to belong to my grandparents. Could be 1890's to 1920's vintage-I'm not 100% sure. It is a wall mount unit that swings. Swivels, ratchets up and down and folds back on itself. It is nickel- or chrome-plated brass. The mirror itself is 7 inches in diameter. There are a couple of minor scratches on the surface of the mirror(see last photo)no cracks. The glass is beveled. The silvering is in very good condition considering it's age. With the arm fully extended it is about 20 inches long. Folded up it is about 10 inches long. This would be the perfect addition to any Victorian or eclectic-styled bathroom. The mirror is marked"KATO" on the wall mount. KATOMIRROR" on the main arm closest to the mount, KATO MFG CO" on the ratchet joint; and"PAT APD FOR" ... moreon the mirror back mount. Made from solid oak(NO VENEER) and in very good condition with some light scratches and rubs from age and use. Measures 42 1/4" tall. 34 1/8" wide and 21 1/2" deep. A nice space saver desk. All drawers slide in and out good and the slide out writing desk top slides in and out very good as well.Appears to have been refinished at one point in time and the handles are not original to the desk. The pocket door pull handles measure 2 x 4 1/16 inches. The face plate of the lock measures 1 1/16 x 7 11/16 inches. The lock box recesses 3 inches. Is 5 3/8 inches tall and 1/2 inch thick. On the face of the lock there is a handle and a round button. Push the button and the pull handle pops out. The door frame has a matching strike plate that measures 1 by 4 1/8 inches. Turn the key and a curved deadbolt will catch in the strike. The set includes a pair of keyed handles. Eastlake Ornate Brass and Iron Rim Lock Door Hardware, PYE , 1869
Eastlake Style Door Hardware. Ornate Brass and Iron. Marked PYE Co. Patent March 30. 1869. This has knobs, back plate for door, but unfortunately no keeper. The switch lock functions and the knobs turned easily when it was put together. I think the knobs are pottery as they are not magnetic. They have some grooves and flaws in the manufacturing of them. The Rim lock is 3 3/8 inches wide, 4 5/8 high and 13/16 deep on the latch side, 5/8 inches on the other. The latch side phlanges out. This does have areas of paint and maybe some varnish on it. The back plate for the door has been painted brown. It is 2 1/8 inches square. Unfortunately there is not a key for it or the keeper. I believe that a keeper could be found here on Ebay.

This a massive old Spool Cabinet dating to the late 1890's early 1900's. It is 30 1/4 inches wide and 24 inches high. It is almost 19 inches deep overall. Each drawer interior is 24 inches wide and 15 1/2 inches deep. It has a stained finish and it looks original to the piece. A small portion has chipped off on each side. Small but noticeable and mentioned for accuracy sake. The decorative molded trim is ornate and well made. It was obviously an expensive cabinet originally. There are small spooned carved trim piece on each corner and they remind of the Victorian era. Perhaps influenced by the Eastlake style of furniture and spoon carvings. The aprons are scroll cut all the way around and the piece is finished cabinetry style on all four sides. The drawer pulls are all white porcelain and brass and original and in excellent condition. ... moreThe interior of some of the drawers were made to have removable slats to separate product. These slats are long gone, but would be easy enough to replace. There are a some screw or nail holes in the top and they appear to be the leftovers of where a sign or plaque would have been mounted to the piece. They may be visible in the pictures.
