Original to the porch on the old farmhouse. Porch added for my husband's aunts wedding in 1930. Unfortunately. They only put up 6 columns instead of the 7 needed. The columns are welded steel tubes with an Outside diameter(OD) of: 3- 1/2" and a wall thickness of: 182 inches The boots are heavy Cast Iron. And at their widest point measure: 7- 1/8" in diameter. The boots have 5- 1/8" flat; on one side of that 7-1/8" circle) The total height of these columns is: 38- 1/2" One column weighs: 33 lb's. And the other: 34 lb's. There is, of course, some gold rubbed off on the bottom of the feet. Each bowl has 3 gold scrolled feet. The large bowl is 4" high and the smaller ones are 2" high. This pattern is from around 1890. This lovely mosaic is from Italy and measures 1 inch around and the composition I believe is glass or stone of another type? Vintage STAIGER Crystal Mantel Clock This is a beautiful clock and is in Excellent Condition. Measurements are 5" Tall. 4" Wide, 1-1/2" Thick The clock is frame in patterned glass. The back has a sunburst pattern which shows though in the front. The side's of the clock are columns with a ribbed design. The top glass has a partial sunburst. The sides. And the top have the same ribbed design. This is a lovely clock. And is quality made. It is quite heavy weighing 1.9 pounds. This is chip, crack, and repair free. This is stylish and beautiful. Antique Bookends Greek Roman Columns Cast Bronze or Iron, Beautiful
A beautiful pair of antique or vintage bookends featuring Greek(or Roman) columns. The measure 7 1/4 inches wide. 4 1/3 inches tall and the base is 1 1/2 inches wide. I am sorry I don't know if they are cast iron or cast bronze or the manufacturer. Or the age. They have the original patina and there is a copper or gold color still showing on the edges. The are straight and not bent nor cracked. They are quite heavy weighing 5 pounds and 2 ounces but I can still fit them into a US Post office flat rate box. SMALL SIZE. Cost is $ 5.60 and I will put some bubble wrap around each, as much as will fit into the box. I believe they were made in the 1920's. Up for your viewing and bidding pleasure are 6 Vintage Wood columns/pillars. These once belonged to my grandfather that he hand turned himself for his dream home he was building in the early 1960s. They are made in 2 sections at the family lumber yard and will need squaring up on both ends because the person that bought the home did not want the posts and in removing them butchered the ends a bit. This auction is for one pair of drop-dead gorgeous Victorian White Oak Fluted and Tapered Columns. Typically these would have been found on the upper deck of a fireplace mantle. Separated by a beveled glass mirror(see last photo- this mantle is for reference only and is NOT included in the auction) These columns measure 22-1/4" high overall with 5" diameter at the base. Detailed dimensions as follows(please feel free to ask if I'm not clear about a measurement) base 5" x 5" x 5/8" one only) plinth 1-1/8"H overall(1-1/16" 7/16" plinth lower 5.093"D(16" circumference) plinth upper 4.456"D(10" circumference) cap lower 3.661"D(11-1/2" circumference) cap upper 3.263"D(10-1/4" circumference) cap ring 5/16" column 22-1/4"H overall. flutes 20"H. flutes ... more3.183"D(10" circumference) at top. flutes 3.819"D(12" circumference) at base. flutes 3/16"W x 5/16" between. The columns come in their original finish and patina. Not molested(re-touched or re-finished) in any way. I believe it is shellac(becomes slightly tacky when tested with denatured alcohol) The finish is finely crazed(crackled) in the flutes. There is the occasional small bruise. Most often on the base plinth. There is also one very thin shrinkage/glue crack on each column, running parallel with the flutes. I wouldn't have known they were there, except the finish has slightly darkened and dulled along these cracks. One plinth base is missing, but this could be easily duplicated. Since I've not removed the caps or plinths. I'm not sure whether these columns are solid or hollow. The shrinkage cracks might suggest hollow, whereas the weight(about 6lbs each) suggests solid. 7 matching architectural porch posts from the 1940s or earlier- we're not exactly sure when they were installed. But they're not original to our house. Overall heights as follows(all heights include 1-3/4" thick top and bottom of capital and base) 4@ 87.75" 2@ 84.5" 1@ 84.25" Turned section is 10" diameter at the bottom tapering to 8" diameter at the top. Capital is 12" x 12" base is 13" x 13" Very good condition, no rot or termite damage except on a couple of pieces of the square base. Some minor seam cracks and minor repairs needed where handrails and gutter were attached, as shown in photos.

Antique Mantel with Original Beveled Mirror, Columns, and Other Added Decoration
For sale is this lovely antique mantel with beveled mirror which came out of a house in Ashe County. NC that was 100+ years old. The mantel has a column on either side of the opening and the mirror is trimmed with egg and dart moulding. There is also a decorative oval design on either side of the mirror and side. Dimensions are as follow: Opening- width 41 1/2" x length 41 1/2" overall: 60 1/4" width x 72 1/4" height. The mantel is completely refinished in a warm tone and boxed for immediate installation. The box is about 10 3/4" from back to front. The mirror is 39 1/2" width x 15 1/2" height. The mirror has an obvious scratch but no cracks or major damage and I believe it is the original mirror with no re-silvering. Some of the wood on the shelf needed extra repair and upon close inspection, the former ... moredamage can be detected. There is some damage to the base where the columns are mounted that caused some of the surrounding wood to be missing. In the process of refinishing, that has been reshaped to be rounded on the corners. The decorations are in excellent condition and while it is simple, the ovals and egg/dart decorations add just the right touch. Thanks so much for looking! The top portion is 3 dimensional with a copper overlay. The main picture is like looking through a window curtain out to the turquoise ocean and azure sky under an arched curtain. There are Greek columns with special copper accents. Just beautiful in the light and my pictures don't do it justice. It deserves to hang in a special window. Some of the glass on the back side is textured to further enhance the natural beauty. I am not an authority on this. But think this is antique glass. There are 5-6 hairline cracks. Antique Mantel Clock- Marbelized, Columns, Lions' Heads-
This mantle clock came from the estate of a wealthy couple. It is 15 inches wide across its bronze feet. 8 inches deep and 11 inches high. It has been richly embellished: the sides are decorated with lions' heads, the front has bronze-mounted columns. I believe the case is actually of wood then faux painted to resemble red marble. It has been in storage for several years; it ran prior to being moved into storage and has not been tried since. It has a windup key and a weight which were removed prior to storage. Really great ornaments featuring nice columns on the front with wonderful array of ornaments on each side and great toes. Great Project! Very Cool! Clock includes Works but missing pendulum and Key.
