We have for sale a Vintage Victorian Cast Iron Free Standing Fire Place Grate Southern Stove Works Richmond Virginia USA. It dimensions are 24 inches across the front. 12-1/2 inches deep, 15 inches high in the back and 10-1/2 inches high in the front. As you can see from the photos it has been used, has surface rust, there are two cracks in the back plate near the top(See Photos) The grate is sturdy and usable for your fire place. It displays nicely. It has a nice Victorian style edging all the way around the grate. On the backside of the back plate it is stamped with the Southern Stove Works logo, Tip Top No. 124 Richmond Virginia USA. This is a heavy item. Antique/Vintage Cast Iron Grate with Louvers for 10" x 14" Opening
Up for sale is a cast iron floor/wall grate for a heating and ventilation system. It could also be used as a decorative piece. The rear of the grate consists of five louvers and is designed to be recessed into a 10 by 14 inch opening. The face of the grate is slightly larger and spans a total area of 12 by 16 inches. There is a screw hole in each corner of the face for securing it to the floor or wall. Please note that this grate does not sit flush on its mounting surface. Instead. It protrudes about 1 inch. Mounted on a floor, it could thus pose a tripping hazard, or an obstruction to certain types of furniture, so consider your application before bidding. This grate was recently stripped of many layers of paint and repainted in a low-gloss black. It has a very nice look. The louvers function smoothly and quietly. A few flaws are evident. ... moreThere is a crack in the perimeter of the frame near the thumb wheel that operates the louvers. This is strictly cosmetic and does not impede the operation of the thumb wheel and louvers. This crack is shown in one of the photos. Similarly. An area of the lattice work near the thumb wheel appears to be missing. This is not readily apparent, due to the complex design of the lattice, but it is evident on close inspection. Vintage Victorian Cast Iron Heat Vent Cover Grate Register with Louvers, NICE!
Nice Victorian cast iron floor grille heat grate register with louvers from an old house in Maryland. This wonderful antique heat duct register includes the ornate cover plate and a three-louver assembly underneath. This piece has a stunningly beautiful pattern on the cast iron cover and the three louvers are in good working order controlled by thumb-wheel-type mechanism. The top of the grille measures 11.5 inches long by a little over 9.5 inches wide. From the front to back with open louvers. It measures three inches. The grille needs a floor opening of about 9 and 6/16 inches by 7 and 7/16 inches. The unit has no damage but has some rust and the paint is peeling. With just a little sanding and paint it will be a beautiful addition to your home.

Offering this antique cast iron metal chimney stove pipe heating grate pipe cover. It may be adaptable for either wall or floor. Great primitive look with old paint. Patina, and have left untouched. The metal itself looks in good condition with no cracks. Hairlines or breaks when examined. The outer disc measures 15 3/8 inches in diameter. And inside measurement is 7 1/2 inches across. The round flowered grate measures 12 5/8 inches in diameter. And inside measurement is 7 7/8 inches across. The interior center disc measures 7 3/4 inches in diameter. There are raised letter/numbers on the metal- X 105 is on the center disc. On outer disc is X 102, and flowered grate is X 137 6. There is no manufacture name that we can see. I wasn't able to find another one of these anywhere on line. Seller who sold it to me said it was old but she didn't know how old. Because of the vent holes in the shell it could be used as a grate even though it does not have screw holes. It lays flat on a surface except where the head comes up. And. It is heavy enough that it will stay where you put it right at 2 1/2 pounds. The finish is kind of an old rusty cast iron finish. The lines on the back are fantastic( lines look art deco) and the turtles expression is cool. Kind of looks like it is saying. Hey, what are you doing here? It measures right at 11 x 9 x 1 1/4 inches tall. The rounded shell and raised head give it a 3 dimensional look. There are no identifying marks. 1897 Large Victorian Circular Ceiling Floor Register Grate Cast Iron 4 Pieces!
Beautiful old floor wall or ceiling register grate vent. With a design patent date on the back of 1891. There is a company name of Adams Company Dubuque Iowa. It measures approx 15.5 inches diameter and all pieces weigh almost 9 pounds. Patent Date Aug 31 1897. The piece looks to be victorian style, with two pieces that fit in the middle; the first is a decorative geometric design, the other a round and flat circular piece. They both move freely. It was painted front and back with black paint at one time. You'll notice it has plenty of wear, scratches, dents, dings, light rust, paint chips, etc. Despite wear, it is a very nice piece and can be restored and used beautifully. Purchased from an estate. Nice cast iron floor grille heat grate register with louvers from an old 1920's house. This wonderful antique heat duct register includes the ornate cover plate and a louver assembly underneath. The louvers are in good working order controlled by thumb-wheel-type mechanism. The top of the grille measures 16 inches long by a little over 14 inches wide. From the front to back with open louvers. It measures 3 inches. The grille needs a floor opening of about 14 and 12 inches. The unit has no damage but has some rust and the paint is peeling.
