Offered for your bidding consideration is a handsome antique tile made by Cambridge. It features 3 French fleur-de-lis reliefs colored in a light sage green. I recently discovered this tile and others while digging for antique bottles under a porch in Stockton. CA. The home was built in 1909 and was slated for demolition. I believe I had dug up a trash pit once used by the original builders just before completion of the home where they had discarded left over materials. Some of the glazing is worn on part of the fleur-de-lis on the far left. See below for more details. 23 sheets of Old Antique ( Metal ) tin ceiling tile 24"x48"
This auction is for 23 sheets like the ones pictured. Pictured are 3 vintage ceiling tile tins. Each measures 24"x48" I have 23 of these. The condition of each differs somewhat. The center of each half has an octagon shape which is roughly 11" across. Each corner also has a relief image. Paint is chipped and peeling. There are a few nail holes in some sheets as well as nail holes on edges. This was removed from a house built in approximately1905. RARE ANTIQUE ARTS CRAFTS TILE 6" pine needle design
This sale is for 1 rare arts& crafts tiles. 6" square and they are spectactular! More are pictured. Between 1888 to 1893 Charles Volkmar produced pieces under the name of the Menlo Park Ceramic Company. He then moved his pottery back across the river from New York. Between 1903 to 1911 in Metuchen, Volkmar operated what was referred to as Volkmar Kilns or Charles Volkmar& Son. His single tiles can sell for hundreds of dollars. These off-white tiles have a fascinating raised geometric design of stars, starbursts and other geometric shapes. I tried photographing them with and without the flash. Unfortunately my camera does not do them justice(I've found that light tiles do not photograph particularly well) The overall effect is stunning. We looked at these tiles from different angles and were amazed at the different looks including ... morea spiderweb effect. On the back they are marked MENLO PARK CERAMIC WORKS J T S. ANTIQUE VICTORIAN PROVIDENTIAL TILE FIREPLACE SURROUND portrait tiles
The sale is for this gorgeous antique tile surround that was made by the New Jersey Providential Tile company in the late 1800's. The picture is a shortened version of the surround. There are quite a few more of the mottled tiles. It is in good condition and is comprised of the 2 corner portrait tiles and the rest are 6x1.5 inch and 3 x 1.5 inch tiles. Very few or none of the mottled tiles should need to be cut for the surround. There is some residual mortar and the portrait tiles have a few edge abrasions(please see closeup pictures) The most common surround would be 30" high and across. If you need more tiles for your fireplace surround I can flesh out this design with the mottled tiles. I have many antique tiles listed.

Great old dcorative tile actually measures 7 7/8" figures 8" w/ grout. Would be fantastic trivet. Wall art, or leaning in cabinet with pottery vases. Old chip in one corner is about 1/2" X 1/8" and two other corners have slight surface chips. I do not know the age of this wonderful tile. The back stamp may help someone to identify; it is the letter'D' inside a triangle, which is inside of a circle. INCREDIBLE Antique Victorian Minton Secessionist Tube Lined Floral Tile C1905 !!
You are bidding on an absolutely INCREDIBLE Original Victorian Secessionist Tube-Lined Floral Tile. Made by Minton, and dating from the early 1900s! Measuring 6" x 6" this stunning tile features a breathtaking purely Secessionist design of tube lined flowers with foliage on a soft white ground. Boasting rich blues and greens and even features most unusual pressed decoration below the grass line- Lovely! Marked on the back with the Minton Mark(some of which is currently under a small layer of soft plaster) This most wonderfully rare tile would have been produced when John Wadsworth was designing for Minton. And it certainly has a look of his work about it- it really is beautiful! The tile is in good condition with miunimal age wear- no chips cracks or repairs.
