New Jersey. The tile measures 3" square and bears a glazed flower pattern on its face and the makers mark on its back. The tile is in very good condition for its age and having been used. This ca. 1909 hand carved marble memorial to the slain 16th president measures 10 ½” tall x 6 ¾” x 4 ½” and sports an art pottery tile by the Mosaic Tile Company of Zanesville. Ohio. The piece has a wonderfully rendered, deep baroque shell niche behind a polygonal socket that holds a single candle. You will not nicks to the top edges of the piece and small holes suggesting missing metal mounts or name plate. Up for Auction is this Beautiful Rare Victorian Lady Porcelain Tile Medallion? Lid? Cover? I cannot find anything like this anywhere. The old man who I purchased it from said he was not real sure what it came off of. He thought maybe it was some sort of lid. He said the person he bought it off of said it was from the late 1800s early 1900s. It does look like it has been in contact with some heat and it is numbered but I cannot read all of them. It has 2 surface cracks but they are not deep and Do Not take away from its beauty and character! It measures approx. 3" in diameter. This piece is just breath taking. Good condition. Just the chip bottom right corner of note, just a few minor surface marks the mark on the main flower a spot of kiln dirty.
