Antique Brass Victorian Sconces Gaslight Electric Combo Converted Restored Rare Hello Everyone. This listing is for a pair(2) of Antique Victorian Brass Wall Sconces. These sconces are very special in that originally they were a combination of gaslight and electric. That's a very rare combo for the time. This pair is patent dated June 13th 1899. By Bryant. Let me explain a little more about exactly what you're looking at. The upper light was originally gas. The gas burners on these were removed but I'm going to include a picture of what they did look like as I have exactly 2. That will be the last picture. I installed a no switch antique socket and drilled out the gas lines to accomodate a modern 18 gauge lamp cord. The upper sockets have a little bit more patina than the lower ones. Still a very close match. These lights are ... moreno longer useable with gas. The lower socket which was always electric. Has also been rewired with modern 18 gauge lamp cord. The lower socket is Bryant. The upper is Hubbel. These sconces are over 100 years old and have fantastic patina. I've only photographed one sconce for this listing. The other is a perfect match with equal patina. If not in exactly the same places. I'm offering a choice of shades with these. The first choice is the traditional clear with stars. The other choise is frosted with no decorations. Both are pictured. Your choice. The mounting cover is modern. Close match on the finish. Also included is all required mounting hardware. You will need one of those stubby short screw drivers for installation. Not included. 2 Edison style fillament bulbs will be included. Measurements. The sconces are 13 inches tall. Antique 1920's Lovely Pair of Edwardian Wall Sconces (ANT-300)
Lovely pair of Circa 1920 wall sconces. Original antique sconces with original Art Glass antique shades. These sconces have a lovely Edwardian pewter look and a great design that is so typical of the Edwardian style. The original antique shades are also so very nice. They are an ivory color with clear applied art glass touches to each side. Tall shades and the design on the art glass shades seems to match the shapes found in the metal backplate. A nice combination indeed. The metal. Of the backplates, is cast metal with a lovely pewter finish. Ready to go.nothing needs to be done except add the light bulbs of your choice. We would recommend our LED candelabrum bulbs, 35C-E26 if you wish ambient light rather than full room power. The ambiance of these bulbs is warm and they draw so little electricity(1.6 watts) that we have known folks that ... moreleave them on 24/7. The bulbs do have an expected life of 25,000- 30,000 hours. However.if a stronger light is desired.we suggest a tubular S-10 bulb which is the same kind of tubular bulb often used in desk lamps. It gives a balanced light for this longer shade. These sconces have been completely re-wired in our UL shop with new sockets and all new wire. We have also replaced the rotary switches. Made by Leviton in the 20’s.and were still made up to ONE year ago. So these switches, by Leviton are becoming even more antique as we note this. Antique Victorian Shelf Child Cherub Face Sconces Shelves Mantel - Pair 7" Tall
Antique Victorian Sconce or shelves are approx 7" tall 6 1/4" wide x 4 1/4" deep and show patina with age and a little wear that can be touched up. The corner edge of one has some wear with minimal wood loss. Could use a little stain marker for touch up. The backs have the original brackets but a screw is missing from the bottom bracket. Someone added the loop hook for hanging on the back, which of course is not original. The top and back are wood but Im not sure if the faces are a composite material or not. Im not an expert on this sort of thing but they are definately pretty old and not reproductions. Could they have once fit under a fireplace mantel or held lamps? Two Fantastic Antique Victorian Gold Carved Wood Mirrored Wall Shelf Sconces
This is a matching pair of absolutely beautiful Victorian mirrors with attached shelves. Both mirrors are framed in gorgeous art nouveau style ornately carved wood with tiny rectangles of mirror all the way around the large mirror. There are rosettes on all four corners of each mirror and a carved wooden shelf underneath. All of the wood is painted gold and is in excellent condition. There are no chips. And nothing is missing from the wood. The large mirrors are also excellent with very little wear, spotting, etc. The tiny mirrors that frame the larger mirror look cloudy and hazy in some spots where they have loosened and each mirror frame is missing one small rectangle of mirror. A replacement could be glued back on, or the bare spots could be painted silver to hide the missing mirrors, but they do look stunning as-is. Description These are two antique bronze wall sconces with cherubs. They are not exactly the same. The cherubs are sitting on a scalloped base with leaves on one and leaves and a bird on the other. Please check the pictures to see all the differences. The two arms are a darker bronze. I don't know if they are original to the pieces or were added. I purchased them at an estate sale on the north shore of Long Island. Each measures 13" wide and 12" tall. They have been rewired and are in working condition but as with any electrical item they should be checked before installation as wires or screws can loosen during shipping. Late 1800s I was told, in great shape, both sconces light up very nice, the porcelain cherubs both hang on to their metal bases and are removable, porcelains have minor little nicks, no missing fingers or toes, patina in very good shape, they both measure; 18" high x 14" wide, cherubs measure; 9" x 7" wide.

For your bidding is a gorgeous pair of Art Deco 2 Light wall sconces. The backs which are 7" in diameter are brass grating with a brass plate in the back that has been painted white. Each sconce has two lights/candles that are 6 1/2" tall with the original sleeves and pull changes to turn on and off(all working) The total length of each sconce is 9 1/2" The arms of the lights have swirled detailed designs and reach out 6 1/2" from the wall. The back plates of the sconces are held on by three nuts. There is a metal bar in which to hang them. They have the original wiring which looks to be in good condition. All parts are originals. For your consideration is this magnificent pair of antique Tudor style porch lights. This pair of copper lights was made between 1915 to 1920. Note the wonderful detailing on the lights. And the great hanger style backplates. The lights measure 14 1/2" tall by 7 1/2" across and stand out from the wall 10 1/2" The access doors are on the side and both working well, with latches that hold well. Antique Spanish Wood Wall Sconces CONQUISTA DEL PERU MEJICO Mexico Conquistadors
Beautiful pair of antique hand-carved wooden wall decor/sconces. These were recently pulled from my late grandmother's shed that we have been cleaning out slowly but surely. They look to be very old, but I'm not sure of their origin or exact age. She was an antique hunter from way back, and collected a ton of things over the years. My Grandfather thinks he remembered her saying that these originally had busts of different Spanish Conquistadors atop each sconce, which would make since because there are holes where nails would have held something to the top of each. One of them is labeled"Conquista Del Peru" and the other"Conquista De Mejico"or"Conquest of Peru/Mexico" The spelling of"Mejico" is from Spanish origin from what I've read. Later changed to"Mexico" These were obviously ... moredecor pieces meant to celebrate the Spanish Empire during the 16th and 17th century. As you can see from the pictures. They have some condition issues. Paint wear and wood chipping, as well as rough breaks at the bottom tips where it looks like something used to be there. Each sconce is 2 pieces. One of them has the top piece intact, but has separated a bit(held in by 2 nails that don't look modern.see pictures) The other's top is completely loose. Each sconce measures about 19" tall x 8" wide. I wish that I knew more about their origin or specifics on potential value.but my knowledge is not that of my late Grandmother. I'm just going to do my best to describe them and run them old the old flag pole as the saying goes. If you have any information that may be helpful. Antique Repurposed Architectural Strap Hinge Metal Sconces Candlesticks Lighting
Up for auction are a pair of antique repurposed iron metal strap hinges converted to a pair of candle sconces recently found at auction in the Lancaster County. PA area. They are painted black have a nice primitive look. Brass end caps were added to hold the candle. It will accommodate a 7/8" candle. Both hinges attract a magnet and are cast iron. Each measures approx 21" by 1 7/8" at its widest point. Great for a steampunk project or to be reused in any architectural setting. The older piece has very heavy obvious use wear throughout metal is smooth no ridges left. Both have wear are dirty and tarnished throughout. Both weigh 1 pound 14 ounces each so a good copy I would say. Could also be 2nd piece was handled less but my though its a copy. The bases are exact underneath so maybe just a replaced ball and stem holder.

This auction is for a pair of antique solid brass candle wall sconces. That hold 3 candles each. Each candle is placed in the"bud" of a stylized open flower. And each candle holder is threaded and can be unscrewed. The middle holder on each sconce is slightly askew, which was part of the original manufacture. Each sconce is quite solid, and no part can be easily bent. Each is 17" high and 14" wide, and extends 4" from the wall. In the close-up photo of the back, the screws holding the arms can be seen, as well as the metal hook from which each hangs. My late husband bought these wall sconces at a Vermont antique shop in the mid-1940's. They were authenticated at that time as having been made in the early 1900's. He used them at one time. So there is some candle residue from use years ago. However, they have ... morebeen unused and packed in a carton for the last 45 years. Neither has ever been polished, and both retain their patina. This pair of sconces was very recently appraised for $450-$600, by the fine arts director at an auction house.
