Antique Underwood Standard Four Bank Typewriter Wood Grained Chrome Keys
This typewriter is in pretty decent shape. Someone at one point for some odd reason painted the case gold. In doing so the got some paint on some of the typewriter as well. We think the gold paint can be removed from the typewriter without damaging the wood grain but we can not guarantee it. The keys all depress well. This could use a good cleaning and oiling as a key does stick from time to time. We have a reproduction steamer trunk lock with 2 keys that has never been used. I bought this over 12 years ago for a steamer trunk I was going to restore for my daughter needless to say I never got around to it and the trunk is no longer in the family. This is a gorgeous lot of all authentically antique/vintage skeleton keys. I usually deal in jewelry so I'm not extremely knowlegable in this area- I do however come across a lot of keys in my flea market. Antique show& antique mall searches, and I find them beautiful in a similar way that jewelry is- just exquisitely made& designed, lovely to look at but useful at the same time. CLASSIC ANTIQUE FRENCH BRASS CARRIAGE CLOCK* KEY IN BEAUTIFUL ORIGINAL CONDITION. COMPLETELY RESTORED(AND SERVICED) IN MY WORKSHOP. with numbered movement. As featured in plate VII/23 on page 171 of Charles Allix's definitive book on carriage clocks Following careful restoration. This good quality clock is now in fine condition CLOCK DIMENSIONS: Height(with handle folded down) 4 1/2 inches(11.5 cms) Width 3 inches(8 cms) Depth 2 1/2 inches(6.5 cms) Recently. I spent several peaceful hours completely restoring(case and movement) this classic fine quality carriage clock which was manufactured in France in around 1900( probably specifically for the wealthy Victorian British market) It is an 8-day timpiece only(i.e. non-striker) CASE: Solid cast brass in excellent original condition. The rear door- which opens and closes with beautiful precision- ... morebears the manufacturers batch number 39; this number is repeated on other parts of the case- showing it to be completely original. I dismantled. Cleaned and polished the case and, rather than lacquering it, gave it a couple of coats of micro-crystalline wax polish to delay the tarnishing process(this also means of course, that it will be easier to give the clock a light clean in future) The case now has a rich antique patina and looks much as it would have done when new. MOVEMENT: Beautifully made numbered movement with a good quality original brass 7-jewelled compensated cylinder escapement. The inside of the front plate of the movement is stamped with the initials CA in a small circle followed by the numbers 15 168. The back plate is engraved with the letters S(low) and F(ast) to indicate the direction in which the index lever should be moved to adjust the timekeeping. All screw heads on the back plate have been attractively"blued" I completely dismantled the movement having first checked it carefully for wear. I then cleaned and polished it and. Antique J.S. Duss Band Tremolo Harmonica- Keys of A& D J.S. Duss was a popular bandleader and musician in the late 19th/ early 20th century. As Duss retired in 1907 and died 1951 at the age of 91. Having spent his last 44 years composing religious music, I've got to assume that this instrument was made in the 1st decade of the 20th century. This double-sided harmonica in the keys of A and D has 48 holes on each side. One side of the cover plate is marked"Duss Band Tremolo Extra Full Tone ~ Made in Germany ~ Reg. U.S. Pat. Off. The other side has the key markings and"None Genuine with J.S. Duss Signature. The ends of the comb are engraved with a"D" surrounded by a wreath in filigree. The case has been somewhat flattened on both sides& the support posts have made outward dents. The plating shows little wear& ... moreonly very light surface scratches. These lanterns were manufactured to detect the lack of oxygen or explosive gasses in a mine, providing light when lit via oil wick which extinguishes when the O2 is below safety levels. Original 19th century slave. Prison shackles handcuffs. Both cuffs are in good operation and open with key. Has both original keys with cuffs, top of cuff and keys are brass and the rest is steel or cast material, all original item in used condition, due to age i highly recommend you do not play with these and treat them with the respect they deserve in a collection. These are in good condition figuring age and use. Very rare find from the past. This is your chance to own a rare piece of history. 1800's Antique Civil War Era Keys [LOT OF 11] STEAMPUNK WEDDINGS
These keys come in multiple LOTS so each LOT. Although very similar, will not be exactly the same as the next. Differences include different shades of grey. Some shiny-plating still present, light to heavy rust, while some are barely rusty at all. Some have dark patches on them, and a variety of less-than-perfect qualities. All of this to say that if you are envisioning some sort of uniformity with these keys, the greatest similarity between them, is that they are generally rusty.
