The handles on the ... morelatches are cast brass. There is a left and a right catch and latch. The right latch is a flush catch and the left latch is an offset which looks like a 1/4 inch. They have quite a bit of character I am guessing they came off a side by side double door chest. Nice for reuse on a number of different possiblities for your next project or renovation. Hinges look to have a 3/8 inch offset and all operate smoothly for reuse. These look like they would clean up quite a bit although I did not want to destroy the patina and thought I would let the new owner decide. Here is a pair of old brass hinges that were commonly found on wooden toilet seats(most likely pre-1940's) One set has more oxidation and wear of the plating than the other. But they both have great patina. One set is missing the mounting nuts for the studs. And the other could use a thread-chasing as the nuts give a bit of resistance. This wooden carpenter's tool box was discovered at a small flea market in upper Bucks County Pennsylvania. Chock full of rusty-dirty charm. This box has outer strap hinges that were riveted on with brass. A set of strap hinges were added down the middle for added strength, these were fastened with antique wood screws. The bottom part of the padlock latch is attached to a modified strap hinge. The paint is chipped and chipping. There is an oil stain around the hinge of the padlock latch, someone penciled a circle on the lid*under* the handle- so the circle, apparently, is from before the handle was added.and that handle has been attached for a long time! Inside there is a tray with a hole cut out of it to accommodate some unknown tool of yester-year. The tray must have been made from an old crate as the word"GLASS" can still ... morebe seen stenciled on one board. On the outside. Below the lid, there is a thin notch, one can only wonder what function that notch was cut for. The often missing handles on the side are firmly attached with antique wood screws. Measures: 31. 15/16 inches wide- 9, 3/8 inches deep and 10, 1/2 inches tall. This box is sturdy with no loose screws. Inside the shelf is dirty, there are water stains on the bottom and inside. The box is ingenious and finely made, with dovetail corners, and thin brass hinges that are inset into the wood. A clasp on the inside holds it shut. They measure 2 1/2” wide. 3 3/4” long and 3/16” thick. They are all marked“G. MAYER PATENT 2” These hinges were acquired from an estate auction of an avid collector of primitive and Victorian hardware in New York State. The hinges have some chips, dings, etc from age and use but there are no cracks or repairs. This is a set of vintage Singer Sewing Machine head pin hinges for cabinets. Includes the mounting screws and the machine set screws. These hinges were used on almost all Singer machines over all the years Singer made cabinets. These are in really nice condition and retain a nice antique copper finish. This pair came from a 1927 cabinet. Easy to replace on any cabinet. They measure 1 1/8" in diameter. These are the single screw models. Singer also did make 2 screw models.
