I am now offering some of those I don't ... moreneed for your consideration. This auction is for THREE(3) rectangular antique door plates, I believe from the 1920's or 30's. But I wasn't around back then so I don't know for s ure. T wo plates are plated steel- a magnet does stick to them. The third is not magnetic- appears to be plated brass. The coating is a bronze or copper color. These w ould have been used with an old. Large mortise-type lockset and skeleton key- neither is included. P late A measures 10" high x 3" wide. This is the non-magnetic. Bronze-colored one. I believe this plate would have been used on the outside of the front entry door- possib ly exposed to the weather. Plate B measures 7" high x 2 1/4" wide. It is plated steel- the plating appears to be an' antique brass' color. It is similar in design to plate A. But not an exact match. The previous owner"cleaned" these two plates with steel wool, so there are scratches evident. And some finish loss. Plate C measures 7 1/4" high x 2 3/8" wide. It has not been cleaned at all. And is mostly covered with old white paint. It is also plated steel. I believe the color may also be' antique brass' But I can't tell with the paint. It is. Again, a similar design to the other two plates, but not an exact match to either. I received plates A and B as you see them- I do NOT have any knobs or screws to go with them- sorry. The 4 screws that were holding plate C to a door are includ ed, but there were no knobs on the door. This auction is for only these T HREE door back plates. Antique Eastlake Small Inside Door Locking Latch- Sargent& Co. This is marked on the back"Sargent& Co. Pat. July 14. 1891. Notes: This item is missing the knobs. Opposite side plate and the door jamb plate. The small knob that moves or snaps to the right and to the left only locks the knob(missing) from twisting. It does not lock the small handle. I'm guessing this was used for and inside room. maybe a bathroom? I'm not sure. I was told this came from a railroad passenger car. But I have no proof to validate that comment. This is made of steel. Painted black and copper. The front has aged with paint loss. Discoloration and mild surface rust. Antique Sargent Door Hardware Plates Pulls Escutcheon
This set of antique brass door hardware consists of two door plates. An interior door escutcheon, and two knobs The round door escutcheon is cast and the door plates are heavy stampings. There are some scratches on the plates from removing several coats of paint mechanically and from wear over the years. The knobs could use some additional cleaning up or could be used as is. Screws are included. The door plates measures 2" x 7 1/2" The knobs measure 2 1/4" across and are quite heavy. The round escutcheon is 2 1/8" diameter and has been cleaned to bare metal. It didn't go with this door. But came from the same old house being torn down in Pittsburgh, The hardware has not been recoated.

This set of antique brass entry door hardware consists of a large exterior door plate. An interior door escutcheon, an interior key escutcheon, two entry-sized knobs, the lock, the original screws with the exception of 1 small one for the key hole plate, and a long spindle from another door. The round door escutcheon is cast and the exterior door plate and the key escutcheon are heavy stampings. There is pitting on the outdoor components as can be seen in the pictures. There are some scratches on the plates from removing several coats of paint mechanically and from wear over the years. The door knob mechanism is operational but it does not quite retract all the way. It's been cleaned up some on the inside but not oiled. The door plate measures 2 1/4" x 9 1/4" The lock plate is 1 1/8" x 7" The backset to the centerline ... moreof the knob is 2 7/8" The knobs measure 2 1/2" across and are quite heavy. Penn Antique Restoration. 32"x84"x1.75" Antique Oak Entry Door w/5 Raised Panels. Stately. Antique, exterior door salvaged from an old home in Northeastern Ohio. The door has a solid oak core covered with 3/16" thick, oak veneers. The door is painted on both sides. There are 5, horizontal, raised panels on both sides of the door. Also, please don't think that"veneer" means inferior quality. Unlike the paper-thin veneers used on modern doors and furniture. These veneers are almost 1/4" thick and provide strength and stability to the door. The door could be sanded and refinished several times before the door would need to be re-veneered. Hardware: The door comes equipped with a modern. Brass deadbolt lock(no key) and an old-fashioned flush bolt. Any other hardware shown in the photos is not included. Condition: Someone added a small strip of wood to the top of the door to compensate for a leaning foundation. The strip makes the height of the door uneven by 3/8" But is easily removed. Most of the scrapes, scratches, and nail holes would be removed by sanding and/or filled with putty during the preparation phase prior to staining and finishing, or concealed once painted.
