The wood is not broken, split or cracked and the metal mechanics of the hopper work good and smooth. Here we have a gorgeous antique victorian copper and brass coal scuttle in vintage condition. I believe that this is English and probably from the mid to late 1800's. This is a handmade and hand hammered piece with copper rivets. Brass trim around the handle holders, ceramic or porcelain handle, brass braising, and copper belting with copper rivets. This is all hand done probably by an expert coppersmith back in the day. This piece is very old and shows it's age and has wear to it as all older antiques do. Very old and beautiful. Vintage Cast Iron Farm Pump Antique Old Pumps Garden Vintage cast iron farm pump. It was made by the Red Jacket Manufacturing Company of Davenport Iowa. It appears that someone has recently painted it. This design of pump has the rotating head design. Just losen the bolt and rotate the head and handle to which ever way you desire. This fine old piece would look great in your garden! Approximate Measurements The pump is 17" tall. The base has a 8" diameter. The handle is 18" long and the spout is 4" long. Antique Vintage EMPIRE PLOW COMPANY Walk-Behind Plow Garden Cultivator Rare"AMERICAN BEAUTY" Model This old walk-behind push plow/ garden cultivator belonged to my grandfather. Who lived to almost 100 years old and was a true homesteader. He used this hand plow to cultivate his garden behind the house he built himself with stones collected from a creek bed. The plow was made by the Empire Plow Company. Which began manufacturing farm implements in 1840 in Georgia before moving to Pittsburgh, PA, before the Civil War. They relocated to Cleveland, OH, in the 1890s. The plow is constructed of all steel, except for the handles, which are wood, possibly oak. The frame has much of its original green color left. It looks much greener in person than in the photos. We have not cleaned or restored it in any way, so it retains its weathered ... morelook with some rust and old patina. It's just as my grandfather left it, right down to some mud on the wheel that's probably 75 years old. I am not sure of the plow's age, but I know it dates at least back to the 1940s, as my uncle, as a child, recalls seeing him use it then. On the outside of the right handle. The word EMPIRE is printed in black over a white rectangular box. Above it in very faded letters are the words Empire Plow Co, followed by something else I can't make out. Lower on the handle are the words AMERICAN BEAUTY. I have not been able to find any other examples of this Empire model anywhere, so I assume it to be rare. If you have any info about this model, please send me a message. The design of the frame looks same as the Empire Boy Scout High Wheel plows used by boy scouts to grow victory gardens during WWI. The Empire American Beauty measures approximately 60" in overall length. The handles are 49-1/2" long and 1-3/4" by 1" wood. The wheel is 1-3/8" wide and 23-1/2" in diameter. This came from a very old local estate; I'm sure it's over 100 years old. I was told that it was made by the old Tredegar Iron Works in Richmond. VA. It's a very heavy, wonderfully ornate decorative fence. It was encased in concrete at the house when I obtained it. There are J hook rods through the bottom of the posts. You could probably re-use them if needed, or just cut them off if you are using this for décor; as they are not needed for display purposes. This item is just the panel part of the fence. With 2 posts. There is NO door or gate function; this doesn't function as an actual entrance gate or security fence. As you can see from the photos, all 3 parts are separate ... morepieces and would need to be reassembled/put back together to make 1 full piece again. The posts are sort of loose and would need to be put back together. The finials are a pretty fleur-de-lis style. This fence would be used for décor or accent purposes. Cosmetically. The iron has an old, vintage, weathered patina. It doesn't get more perfect than this! It measures 4 feet tall and is 5 feet long. With an inset of Toughkenamon, and Business Directories for Toughkenamon, New Garden Township and Landenberg, from the Atlas of Chester County, Pennsylvania, from Actual Surveys by H. F. Bridgens, A. R. Witmer and others, Published by A. R. Witmer, Safe Harbor, Lancaster Co. Pa. 1873. I have included a picture of the title page; however. It is not included in the sale of the New Garden map. As you can see by the picture. This map has survived a hard life. The paper is fragile and chipped. However, the only paper loss is along the margins; the map itself is all there.
