We believe it is from the 1880's-1920's. Look and the wonderful front with center medallion. It has an arched opening with an insert. There is a domed cutout for a heater vent(cast iron grate) and a fancy cast iron front. The top mantle shelf is serpentine. Use this piece on a wall for accent. Over an existing fireplace, or in your bathroom as a surround for a pedestal sink(my wife does that with one at home) The design possibilities are endless. The front face measures 44 1/2" tall. 44 7/8" wide, and 5 3/8" deep. The shelf is 1 1/4" thick, 49 1/4" wide and 10 7/8" deep. The opening is 33 3/8" high and 24" wide. It is sturdy and in good condition. It has minor wear and shows the adhesive marks and residue on the pieces. The top splash was broken many years ago and then repaired. The bottom is a standard mantle front which we added a little interior lip to b/c our fireplace was a bit smaller. So you can fashion this around various sized fireplaces. The top section is a topper that sits on top and will need to be bolted/ affixed to the wall and rests on the mantle-top. The entire piece you are seeing here is 66" wide and 68" tall from the ground to the top ball on either corner. I see no detrimental damage to it whatsoever. It's clean and lovely. We will be listing the mantle as pick up only. But I am happy to handle shipping for you with a freight company. We are capable of building a crate, etc. You will be responsible for shipping and freight ab o ve& beyond your winning price.
