2 Antique Maritime Heavy Brass Ship Lights Cobalt Blue Glass Globe Sliding Doors
Up for auction is a pair of 2 antique Maritime passageway heavy brass/bronze ship lights with cobalt blue glass globes with sliding doors and a handle for hanging. There are doors that slide on the lamp to open and close the cobalt blue glass globe. The base is all heavy brass/bronze and has a threaded top with moveable handle. On the top of the lamp it has a threaded fitting marked. 9-S-5010-L Type XXII Size B. The threaded top of the light has 9-S-2108-L. There is a gasket with washer and light socket inside, so changing the bulb is very easy. The cobalt blue globe is very heavy, please check pictures and measures 4 ½” diameter x 5” long with rounded bottom. On the rim of the cobalt blue globe it has Type H 2034 L P.G. Co. There are no chips or cracks on the globe. Underneath on the top ring it has 2099-L-3 and on the bottom section ... moreis 2099-L-4. The heavy base contains the sliding door to open and close. The bottom panel also opens and closes. With handle up the lamp stands 11 ¼” tall and the base is 5 ½” diameter. Both lamps have the same numbers and are identical. Antique Candlestick Telephone Antique Wall Cabinet Sliding Doors Nice
Very rare wall cabinet which holds a candlestick telephone or a statue. I have seen one that is being used as a cnadlestick telephone cabinet. I believe this cabinet is made of pine. Sliding curved doors that still work. As you open one door the other also opens and both slide back into the cabinet exposing the candlestick telephone. The apparatus that causes this is still there and working. It is missing the two knobs that were on each door. Writing shelf which is right in front of the phone and is part of that same section. Right below the shelf and telephone is a drawer that opens up and will hold your telephone books or bible. The metal hinges that work the drawer are still there. Intact and in great condition. Check the pictures for drawer operation. It is clean but could use a nice refinishing. The wood section just below the shelf ... moreand between the shelf and the drawer needs to be tightened up and has a crack which can be seen in the picture. The cabinet was imbedded into the wall. The back part that goes against the wall, unseen, is not the original back and I'm not sure there ever was a back on the cabinet. When in the wall the only part that shows is the front as I believe that the cabinet would probably slide right into the opening in the wall and the back of the front would be flush with the interior wall This cabinet is large. 38 1/2" X 17 1/2" X 11" The back part that goes into the wall is 34 1/2 X 13 X 4. I have had these doors for over 20 years stored in my heated garage. Planed on using this unique set of doors in my home but my remodeling projects never allowed me to use them in a location where they could be viewed properly& appreciated. Looking at the wood grain. I believe they are oak… Glass panels are in Very Good condition- No Chips. No Cracks, No pieces missing. There is NO putty or glazing around the Glass Panels. Glass panels are firmly& solidly attached with wood trim around each piece. There are No rattles or loose glass panels. Glass Panels are a Frosted Snowflake design. It provides privacy& allowslight to shine through. Door are in Very Good Condition- There are NO… Cracks. Chips, or Pieces of wood missing on either door& there is NO dry rot or decay. Doors are already pre-notch for hinges… 3 notches on each ... moredoor. Top/ Middle/ Bottom. Each door is 24 inches wide…however when they are closed the overall width is 47.50 inches. This is due to a rabbit that is cut into one door to allow for proper/ normal/ overlap closing. The Height of each door is 95.50 inches. Each door is 1.75 inches thick. Each Snowflake Glass panel is 15inches tall and 9 inches wide. These are Heavy doors… Each door weighs 50 lbs. Handles are Brass…They do need a good cleaning. On one door there are two brass handles which operate the pivot locking devices at the top and bottom. When you turn the top handle a square metal bar approximately ¼ inch thick will rise out of the top of the door and would go into a hole that you would have drilled into your wood frame. Antique Gothic Glass Panel Church Doors Offered here is this Antique Double Gothic Church Door with vintage glass panels. This door came from a small town in South/Central Texas and was a salvaged purchase. It is Gothic to Renaissance in style and will need to be refurbished since the wood has some scratches. Nicks and miscellaneous small repairs on them. The glass looks to be 1940’s or older with four panels replaced by a different style of glass. These four replaced pieces of glass panels have a starburst/snowflake type pattern while the remainder has a mottled goose-bump style. There are 30 glass panels in total on the two doors. The front and sides have hand punched tin panels. Tin panels are held in place with old nails. This is a solid oak cabinet with a bead board back and full length glass front. It is from an early 1900's school. The wood and the glass are both in good condition.
