Looks like its from Dracula's door! 9.5 inches tall. 3.5 inches wide, weighing in at 2 pounds, this cast iron door knocker is super unique and functional. An elegant solid brass or bronze door knocker in the classic form of a ball in hand. I would say it dates to the 1860s and is either English or American. It is about 6" high and 2&1/2" wide. Up for sale is this Antique Horse With Stirrup Door Knocker. This piece is stamped SRG Co and is dated 1945. This piece is brass and has great patina. This piece has some age appropriate wear with one scar near the horses left eye(nothing serious) This knocker attached to a door by two screws. One has twisted off in the bottom hole. If you wanted to use this piece the screw would have to be removed and the hole may have to be re threaded. This should be a fairly simple fix. Or this item will display nicely as is. The knocker measures approximately 5.25 inches from the tip of the horse’s ear to the spur end of the stirrup and about 2.5 inches at the widest point. My scale computes to the nearest gram and it has been tested and calibrated. A note to silver scrappers: There are those on Ebay who will claim that the weight of an object is less than advertised and demand a rebate after the auction has ended. This is an ongoing trend and these individuals seem to complain if silver prices go down between the day they buy and the day they receive. When one melts silver one can lose as much as 5% of the weight in the smelting process and I can not be held responsible for weight lost after melting. I do not generally melt anything that is well made as it makes little sense to me. So any potential loss should be considered before purchasing my items. All my items are measured with a standard tape measure and are rounded off to the quarter inch. I attempt to be as accurate as possible. But odd surfaces can prove difficult sometimes as I lack a pair of calipers. With over a thousand items in my store. Errors do occur, albeit infrequently.
