Exquisite beautifully cast antique Victorian oval knobs and matching backplates with intricate detailing from a recently demolished building located at 2nd Street and Scammel St. Marietta, Ohio, built in the 1880's, so these are old, but still in very good condition. The design is very graceful. I have removed all the crud and paint from each piece so they are very clean. This auction is for 2 plates, 2 matching knobs, a spindle and 2 screws. Antique Victorian Eastlake Brass Or Bronze Door Handles Knobs
This is an ornate set of antique Victorian Eastlake brass or bronze door handles or knobs. I would date them 1880s or 1890s. Given their Eastlake design. The long side of each measures 4 3/4 inches long(12.1 cm) The short sides(not including the metal rod) each measure 2 3/4 inches long(7 cm) The one short side that has the metal rod measures 5 7/8 inches long(14.9 cm) They have a classic Eastlake style to them. I'm not sure if they're made of brass or bronze. But the quality is excellent. I don't see a company name on them. But whoever made them did very good work. I am including the lock and escutcheon that you see in the photos as this was how I found the set. I think the lock is original. But not the escutcheon. The handles themselves are probably made of celluloid. Which was an old replacement for an ivory look, first manufactured ... morein the 1870s. On both pieces the section containing the celluloid moves around slightly. I'm not sure if this was done originally or just happened over time. But it doesn't affect the usability of the handles at all. One handle is fully attached to the metal rod that goes into the lock. And does not separate. There is green tarnishing in a few areas. And a few spots with dark dirt on them, most notably the ends of the longer sides of the handles. There are some light dings on the celluloid. But nothing major. Together they weigh just under 1 lb. 1 oz. Not including the lock and escutcheon. They're a great-looking set of doorhandles! Posted with

Life has a way of taking over such that when my goal was hit my inventory just sat in storage. Well. I have to admit not only did it sit but over the years I have added to it. Due to my fiancé in all likelihood having to move overseas due to work in 2015 and me tagging along I HAVE TO liquidate my inventory. And yes, I have that much that I need to start now. ANTIQUE HEAVY SOLID BRASS DOOR KNOBS AND BACK PLATES
Up for sale are two heavy brass door knobs and back plates in good vintage condition. One back plate has 3 hair line cracks where the door knob fits in the back plate. See pic number 7. The majority of the items I sell are used and have had previous owners. They are not new and most will show normal signs of wear or use. Antique Hardware Lot Glass and Brass Door Knobs & heavy plate hinges
antique glass door knob lock set. Two plates hinges that don't have pins 4 inches by 4 inches. 1 glass door knob, 2 brass lock key trim pieces, 1 door knob plate. door knobs are beautiful they turn nicely. Complete. I cut that piece off a door that was burning in a bonfire- it was a quick architectural rescue. I can't get the knobs off of the wood, so they will be shipped that way and the buyer can take it apart.

They have 12 sides to them. They throw light and colors very nicely! NO chips. NO nicks, NO flea bites. They show wear on the metal pieces. Ready to install. These Art Noveau bronze doorknobs have a very nice darkened spotted patina with normal light usage scratches and a few spots of old paint. The knobs are 2 ¼” in diameter. Lot of 17 Antique Glass Door Knobs This assorted set of 17 glass door knobs includes 16 matching knobs and one oddball. The matching knobs measure 2" in diameter across the top and 2.5" in total length. The odd knob is just a bit bigger and measures 2.25" in diameter and 2-6/8" in length. They are in good. Pre-owned condition- some have paint on them and a few show slight yellowing. A few come with mounting hardware but the majority of them do not. THESE HAVE BEEN PROFESSIONALLY CLEANED. THE KNOBS AND BRACKET ARE 2 1/4" IN DIAMETER. 2" IN DIAMETER. THE LOCK IS 4 1/2" LONG AND 1 1/2" WIDE. IT IS NOT BRASS.
