It consists of 2 glass knobs w/brass shanks, 2 stamped steel escutcheons, 1 iron mortise lock with 1 working key, 1 steel strike plate for the door jamb, and 1 spindle with 2 setscrews. The plates still retain some of their original brass plating, but much of the plating wore off over the years leaving the parts with a nice, distressed finish. At the point of salvage. All parts were painted, dirty, and unevenly tarnished(see last photo) Since then, we've removed the paint, and cleaned and polished all parts to the best of our ability. Antique Reading Hardware Co. art nouveau door knobs, door plate, 1
This is an antique door handle thing that has some issues. The door knobs are black and could use a cleaning. I'm guessing they are japaned metal, but I'm not sure. The brass plates are rectangular, about 5.5 inches tall and have an etched pattern that looks well before art deco in age. They have been painted, not sure what you can do about that. The door opener contraption thing is marked R.H. Co. and it works, not a locking contraption, just opens the thingy. As you can see it's an odd oval shape. The biggest problem, besides the paint is that the guard plate that goes on the edge of the door around the opening thing is completely broken. I'm not sure you can remove the rest and just put another edge plate on it. But it looks like it was etched as well. Also, one of the door handle plates has a slight bend to it, I imagine ... morethat's not a problem though. This will be more clear than the digital photo shows. The high bidder is to pay for shipping. We're in the Northwest so the further you are away the more it could cost, sorry, the postage rates have been high. Interesting lot of old doorknob rosettes escutcheons for your consideration. I am not sure of what there original use was for because of there smaller size. I am guessing they were an early doorknob application from entry doors in homes. They might have been an early furniture backplate as well. Could be used either way I suppose depending on your need. No manufacturing marks. There is a very small amount of original copper Jappanning still evident on a couple of these which I think were there original finish. There are ten in this lot measuring an unusual smaller size at 1 1/2 inches across. Center holes are 3/8 of an inch. large enough for a standard 1/4 inch mortise driverod. These are in very nice condition. All the seating cleats are intact with no break or cracks. These would work nicely on cabinet or furniture resoration as well. Nice lot of four matching cast iron doorknob keyhole backplates for your consideration. these were aquired with locksets where the lock faceplates had the bluebird or swallow pattern on them. I think these might have been the original plates for that design. Although I am not sure since I can not cross reference the manufacture catalog number on the back of each. Which is 5940. Measure 5 3/8 x 1/12 inches. 2 1/4 inch from ctr of knob to ctr of skeleton key barrel. A nice lot of harder to find Early period Victroian Eastlake cast iron backplates. All the plates are in good condition and I suspect that they might even clean up nicely to the original copper Jappanned finish, since they appear to have quite a bit of old varnish that would have protected them over the many years of service. 10 cast brass Antique ornate victorian escutcheons,key hole covers door hardware
This is a beautiful set of 10 matching antique cast brass escutcheons. They were probably originally used on interior doors. Each is 7/8" wide and 1- 7/8" tall. The keyhole is 11/16" long and a little more than 5/16" across. The slot portion of the hole will accept a key that is 1/8" wide. The clear finish on these is chipped and worn. On one. It is nearly gone. There is some discoloration from oxidation. The photos were taken in natural light, so the escutcheons look a little washed out. They have a brighter brass tone, but they still look old and a little weathered. They are very nice. If you have any questions. Please ask.

Penn Antique Restoration. 30"x84" Antique Heartpine& Oak Door w/6 Raised Panels. Rare. Interior door salvaged from an old home in Northeastern Ohio. It has an uncommon, double laminate core(half solid oak and half solid heartpine) covered with 1/8" thick oak veneers on the exterior side, and 1/8" thick heartpine veneers on the interior side. Double laminate" construction. Is essentially 2 doors put together to form 1 door. Not only does this make the door stronger and more secure, but also increases its resistance to warping and bending. Please note that heartpine is the non-living. Core of a pine tree, and not the soft, outer, living sap-wood. Since it takes 30 years for a pine tree just to develop just 1” of heart stock it is rarer. Harder, more durable, more insect& rot resistant, less susceptible to warping ... moreand twisting, and is much more valuable than the cheap, pine lumber that is commonly found at most hardware stores. Also, please don't think that"veneer" means inferior quality. Unlike the paper-thin veneers used on modern doors and furniture. These veneers are 1/8" thick and provide strength and stability to the door. The door could be sanded and refinished several times before the door would need to be re-veneered. Marked RH Co. on box and 250 1/2 on the catch. There is no deadbolt key for the deadbolt slide however. Antique Vintage 3 Door Rollers Cannon Ball National Barn Hardware Rustic Decor
Up for bid is a variety pack of three(3) Barn Door Rollers. These industrial rural rollers are items I found together so decided not to look for the mates. But to offer them for sale. All three turn freely. Need cleaning and or oiling, and are quite different. First is a cannon ball type roller. This item is about 7" long. 1 3/4" wide and weighs around 1 1/2 pounds. Wheels are about 1 3/8" across(contact me if you need more precise measurements) This set is rusty with that rustic look. Has just part of the mounting hardware attached(see pictures) No chips or cracks. Second is a piece with a bit more mounting hardware attached. Wheel portion is about 7 1/8" long and 1" wide. Whole mechanism weighs around 3 pounds 6 ounces. The wheels are about 1/4" wide. Has part that attaches to the door portion as well as three ... morebolts(did not try to unscrew them) Looks like a horseshoe type roller assembly. rusty but solid. The third is a tandem type roller made by" NATIONAL" Has partial hardware on the roller and a single bolt for door attachment(will need at least a nut for this) About 4 1/2" long and 1 3/8" wide(just roller portion) The whole thing weighs around 1 pound 6 ounces The bolt is about 6" long. I am selling an antique metal hardware plate of some kind. The metal plate has a very ornate pattern that is cast on the surface. I am not sure of the application for this piece of metal. It is approximately 5 inches long and almost 2 inches wide. The metal has superficial rust on both sides. It looks like it may have been painted black at one time and the paint looks like it is peeling off of the back side. There is a place for a screw on each end of the front surface to mount it somewhere. I just don't know where. It could be a handle for a door or furniture? Pair of antique wrought iron Suffolk thumb latches door hardware
2 very nice antique wrought iron Suffolk Lima bean thumb latches with parts. The latches are most likely 18th century. They are 8 3/4" long. The thumb pieces are original and are 2 1/2" and 3" long. There is cross hatching on the handles. The cusps are nice and bold. The latch bars are period and are 6 1/4" and 6 3/4" long. Both thumbers are nice and wide. Ask questions if interested.
